If this is true, then, megaton.

So we have a rumor of Red Dead Redemption HD and now GTA6.

    Tomorrow will be verrrrrrry interesting.

There's just no way. Maaaaaaaaybe a GTA5 off shoot like Vice City. I can't imagine they're anywhere near GTA6. It's probably just Red Dead.

GTA 5 was originally released Sep 17, 2013. We are in the window for a sequel announcement, with a release scheduled some time in 2017. I honestly consider this fairly credible; the timeline matches up. I don't know if we'll get an announcement tomorrow, as GTA is big enough to warrant its own scheduled announcement, but we are absolutely in the projected GTA6 announcement window.

I seriously hope it takes place in Vice City. I'd even take an HD remake of Vice City in the GTA5 engine.

We need this. So much this. They've done multiple games now in both New York and LA. Miami just has that one installment. Time for an update (or at the very least a full remaster).

Vice City in the full HD gen would be fantastic. At a minimum, a remake of Vice City with current gen graphics would be great. If nothing else, I'll take a new game set in Vice City in the modern day.

I feel like Vice City is going to be ignored, though, and the next game will take place somewhere totally new. Plot twist: 1920s Chicago?

Absolutely no interest in anything Red Dead. As far as GTA6, I'm not sure. Its funny, because I originally put down 5 on the PS3 in order to play a few other games, and never picked it back up by the time I'd bought my PS4. Then, I kept saying that I'd just get it cheap on the PS4 once the price went down and they released some cool single player DLC, but neither ever happened. The game is still about $50. If 6 were to come out in 2017, I'm not sure that I'd even have time for it, with all the other cool games on the horizon.

Ugh. That'd be just another "Mafia" (bleh). Slower boats and cars, and probably no planes or choppers? No thank you.

At least in Miami, you have a wealth of different types of characters. It's a writer/storyboard wet dream.

Mafia III looks pretty good, I'm not sure what the complaint is there.

Miami is a fantastic setting, anything from the early '80s on up should be good. A modern day Vice City would be ideal, though an HD '80s setting would be fine also. Imagine those neon lights in 4K.

Vice City was my first open world 'sandbox' game, and I have fond memories of it, but no real interest in playing it again, even if it were rebuilt from the ground up for today's systems.

An HD remake of Vice City is my 3rd option.

    1. New game set in Vice City in the modern day.
    2. New game set in Vice City in 1986, like how GTA4 was also set in Liberty City like GTA3.
    3. Total HD remake of GTA Vice City.

It's at least set in the 60s. I was more referring to the older Mafia games set in the outplayed roaring 20s.

I would say the 20s are highly underrepresented in period gaming.

The SJW tendencies of contemporary game developers? The setting itself is fantastic. An Assassin's Creed game set in that time would be amazing.

I'm with you there. Not interested in a game set in the US during that period, but elsewhere in the world could be really cool. The technology could be a slight step forward from what Syndicate had.

    Open-world, maybe. Definitely not linear.

Agreed. They basically said "See, the graphics are upgraded" and then bailed. Probably went to go preorder the iPhone 7.

They wasted a big chance today, especially with Nintendo announcing first party mobile games.
