Howard and Maxwell aren't chopped liver, but I get your point.

It's good news (for us), but Willson has pretty good chemistry with Wilson. Obviously not as dynamic as Graham, but a threat nonetheless. This may be cliché, but Dolphins either have to set the tone or avoid getting the tone set on them. One Chancellor big hit or Thomas Rawls truck and the team and the crowd will get rocking. They have to avoid that, hell, it may be luck. There has to be a combination of good coverage and a disciplined defensive line, and I don't know about the offense. They have pretty good linebackers, so dinking and dunking might be pretty difficult, and I don't know if they're really going to allow anything deep.

I really don't know how this game is gonna go. If they're competitive and they lose, fine. If they get steamrolled it's going to cast a cloud (at least for me) on how the team does the rest of the season. If they can steal a win then they need to take advantage of the next two games against the Pats and Browns. Then I'll start to get seriously hopeful.

if we get beaten bad, there is no way that is an indication of this team. They still have to get healthier and they are playing a SB fave the first week.

Arian Foster named starting running back per NFL Network. Not sure if that's good news or bad news for him.

Agreed. I'm kinda expecting a double digit loss, not because we suck, because Seattle s so good at home. The NE game is different, with no Brady I expect a competitive game at the very least.

I still like the blitz and press idea way better then the no blitz and line up 10 yards off the receivers.

To be clear, I wasn't talking about a 10-13 point loss. I was thinking more along the lines of like a 30-point blowout. Hope the Phins prove us wrong, though, they are our team so I'll always be hoping for the best.

You don't even need to talk to oddmakers to figure that out. The sportsbook would rather you gamble, not them. If the betting is too lopsided they are at risk of losing big. They always win big with parlays, but straight bets they get their vig of 10%. They'd rather the money even on both sides and they collect 10% all day.

Suh must collapse the pocket, Wake and Mario must stay disciplined when rushing upfield and Kiko is going to have to make some open field tackles. On offense? Wow.....I suppose if Foster looks like he did 3 years ago and Ryan makes plays he hasn't made before? We can win.

It will take a perfect storm but its possible.

Yep. Suh, Wake and Williams are going to need to take this game over. Suh and Wake are capable. Going to need a vintage 3 sack, strip fumble type game out of Wake. Very possible with Wilson holding the ball a long time. If Thill plays well i like our chances. If he doesnt then we have no chance. Going to need Thill to do something he hasnt done much of...win a big game

Look, we play the Pats 2X every year and split them almost every year. I don't know how we're such an underdog in the media's eye going into this game. Sure, they're really good and aren't dealing with the unknowns that come along with a new head coach and scheme.

That said, they don't know what to expect with us. There's not a lot of tape to watch besides Gase's O from his former teams. So as long as we follow the plan, apply pressure, and don't get into a shootout which causes us to abandon the running game...

I predict upset. Of course if that happens, people will just tell us the Phins just got lucky lol.

I dislike the 10 yards off the ball thing. I could go with pressing and not blitzing, but never 10 yards off the ball.

You guys do remember we beat them before? With Tannehill?

    I think they are overrated.

The matchups illustrate what was being discussed in another thread(s). Tannehill will have to be good-great as a high volume passer just to give his team a chance at winning. The other QB can have one of those 15 completion for 170 yards type games, and let his teammates do the rest, as long as he doesn't give the game away with mistakes his team should win fairly easily. It's the comfortable life of a Seahawks QB.

You don't press coverage Seattle. Play zone defense on passing down. You don't want your defensive players with their backs turned to Wilson. Make him drive the field. The key is stopping the run. If you can force Wilson into long drives where he has to DINK and dunk he will eventually miss a few passes and stall the drive. But you must shut down the run. I don't know if we can

That's everyone's gameplan when they play Seattle. History shows its very hard to do.

    My big questions:

Is this offense ready (installed and in place with all parts comfortable in their role) to catch Seattle off-guard?

Can this defense keep Seattle in front of them? (With suspect LBs and DBs).

I think this game is going to be a lot closer than most people are expecting. I think it's going to be somewhat like our Redskins game last season, low scoring with maybe a couple big plays deciding the outcome near the end, which I think the Seahawks will make.

Overall I think we'll lose but will come out of the game with a good feeling that we went toe to toe with one of the best teams in the league at their house.
