I'll eat crow on that. We've never had a running game under Freeze. Still looks to be the same. Thumbs up to that Francios kid. He took a beating last night and hung in there. I tagged this as a loss before the game. Just hate losing like that.

Yeah, it's the best conference in the nation. Some others are coming close, but it truly is the best. I don't think anyone can dispute that.

Certainly debatable at best. The stigma has wore off and not to beat a dead horse but like other conferences they are top heavy and the bottom tier teams are BAD.

Absolutely. The issue of recruitment to some of the lower tier programs is systemic; even some of the better high school kids in my state get swept up by the larger out-of-state programs like Alabama or LSU. The coast's own Myles Brennan, who is a pretty good QB at St. Stanislaus, chose LSU. His tight end Chase Rogers chose Tennessee (on another note: his other tight end is choosing Western Kentucky, where Brandon Doughty played). I'd watch out for these two in the coming years. Trent Dilfer was highly impressed with Myles on Elite 11. Things will likely heat up for these two once they get more exposure, but as of right now, these kids are playing out of state. They will do their official visits in the coming months, but most of the programs are big, out-of-state programs.

Only recently has Ole Miss been a school of consideration for kids in-state. It's still tough to keep the good ones at home. Who wouldn't want to play for Nick Saban at Alabama? I know he'd be high on my list if I were a stellar high school player in the south. The smaller schools are left with the rest. There is something to say about other schools because they may have to put more work in developing these kids.

While there may be some jockeying between conferences in the top-25, at this point in time, the SEC is still the top conference. It's not the ONLY conference with really good programs, and that notion may change here shortly. But as of right now, if I had to choose a conference with the most talent, the SEC would be it. And the NFL does not disagree, with the SEC leading all conferences with the most drafted players in the last 10 NFL drafts.

The stigma might have worn off for you, but not the ones who do the drafting.

How in the hades is FSU/Louisville kicking off at 12 and not 3? I was looking forward to sitting in Boone after that game and watch this one on TV. That sucks. :pity:
