There is never one reason why a team loses. The defense was a dumpster fire, but there are a lot of people that did not perform well.

Yeah no. The defense is why we lost. And this statement is even more true if Janine garafolo doesnt go down.

Another reason we lost is our offense sucks. Both sides of the balk suck. Sadly, our defense has been better overall. Defense keot us in Week 1 despite the offenses best efforts to lose it. Week 2 they both got dominated until the 2nd half where the O took advantage of garbage time. Offense has 2 int and 2 fumbles. They suck too. Scored 13 pts the first 6 qtrs of the season.

If the defense can hold, we win both games.

Tannehill just put up 400 yards and lead us to 3 TDs when we were down 31-3. Our defense couldn't stop ANYTHING. Finally when the 3rd string QB came in and the playbook went out the window and every play was pretty much telegraphed for us, we STILL got burned.

a 2nd String QB would have just had a record day on us and dropped 40+ on our faces and you're complaining about offense. The defense is mind numbingly bad right now. and there really is no excuse for our D line to be playing this bad. They had 2 rookies at guard FFS.

Tannenbaum sucks, Defense sucks, we have no running game, Tannehill is inconsistent and rarely leads a game winning drive, etc. Same old problems. Well, the run game is worse than ever before. They had a good RB in Miller but didn't want to pay him, and didn't use him well when they did have him. Great job Miami!

And congratulations Patriots on winning the AFC East again. Though its not like that's hard when you have the Dolphins, Bills and Jets to go against.

Both sides of the ball suck. The offense did NOTHING in sea. Only reason we ever had a chance in that game is the D. Yes the D sucks but the offense is miserable. Scored 10 pts despite 2 turnovers deep in Sea territory. Scored 3 pts in the 1st half today and turned the ball over 4 times. Anybody who thinks the offense has been anything short of bad so far is clueless. We are avg 17pts a game. Whooptie doo. This despite having 3 turnovers in the opponents side of the field. Offense is pathetic. We have a good pass blocking line and 1 weapon in Parker. Offense has just as many turnovers as touchdowns this year. Offense has scored 17 pts a game and the D has given up 21. Both have been pathetic. The D at least played good for 1 game. Offense has sucked both games outside of 2 qtrs in garbage time.

Offense didn't help the defense much in the first half with all the 3 and outs and turnovers. But this loss is mostly on the D.

Don't complete agree with that, but the "Janine garafolo" is hilarious. I'm going to start using that around Boston. Defense is by far the main reason we lost, but the 2 fumbles by Landry and Ajayi and the INT by Tannehill were significant factors.

It's now apparent that the 'game 1' factor is the only reason the SEA game was close. Either that or Seattle just happened to play like garbage. After today I'm not going to give our defense credit for anything in Seattle. I guess aside from blowing it in the end like they did today.

ATLEAST the offense did something today. The game is 2 halfs, not 1 half. they put up 400 passing yards and 24 points. Sure Im mad at the offense too, it was a comically terrible first half. But once again late in the game they scored when they needed to and gave us a chance to win and the defense made sure to make it near impossible.

You realize that we have to say we are "lucky" their 2nd string QB got injured out? Like ... Lucky he didn't just embarrass the **** out of this team? Just pathetic all around.

Hey, you can say he had a bad first half and whatever, but to say it was his fault he didn't lead a game-winning TD drive with a minute left, 69 yards to go and no timeouts is a huge stretch. That would've been extremely hard for any QB.

It's hard to remember all his 'game winning drives' because like last week, He gets it, and the defense loses in the waning minutes of the game.

We win last week and all anyone talks about is how 'clutch' it was.

It is embarrassing all the way around. Thats my point. Its not just the D that sucks. The whole team sucks. This shouldnt be surprising to anyone with half a clue though. Team lacks talent across the board. We literally have 2 guys on O that you can honestly say are both young and have high end talent. You can only say that about 1 guy on D. This team is a couple injuries away from having a top 5 pick and hopefully getting a difference maker behind C.

No that's just salty, lazy analysis. Mistakes everywhere, offense way too passive, way too many drops, fumbles, etc. Yes it was disastrous in the first half, but they bounced back and atleast kept us in it..... Our defense is still the most glaring and most concerning issue on this team. You say they both suck, cool. But the reality is "to anyone with half a clue" That it's not even close.

Couple thoughts. First of all, if we win the toss, put the offense first. This defense is not the strength of this team AT ALL. Second of all, If Garrapolo isn't hurt, this game isn't close. Miami should not feel good about coming back. And them playing Seattle close isn't a good feeling either, as the Rams beat them and Seattle didn't score much again.

Want a feel good story? Maybe the hurry up offense is effective. However, they can't run the ball, so it is going to be limited

Some revision of the defensive performance against Seattle seems to be necessary. Seattle scored only 3 against the Rams today, and the Rams lost 28-0 their first game against SF. I didn't watch the game to see if RW was playing injured, but he started for them and played the whole game.

Gotta give the defense credit if they injure the opposing QB. Two games in a row we did this.

Then again, anyone who lands on Brady like that and injures him is surely going to be suspended. ;) So the end result would probably just be us calling Kiko Alonso stupid and selfish, haha.

If we win because Brady is out, it's definitely not selfish.

Whether it's stupid or not depends on how the injury and suspension affect the rest of the season. Season-ending injury that Brady fully recovers from (full recovery should make sensitive people feel better) would have greater value and definitely wouldn't be stupid :wink2:

We lost because this team has no leaders or playmakers....it's really that simple. Good teams have them, and we don't.

You think Patriots....you think of Belichick, Brady
You think Steelers....you think of Tomlin, Ben, Brown
You think Seahawks...you think Carroll, Sherman, Wilson
You think Dolphins...you think "why the hell am I thinking of the Dolphins?"

Defense was garbage. Made Garrapolo look like a HOF QB. And you know the are running and let Blount gash you?

    Pitiful.

They gave up 224 yards in the first quarter!

    Terrible!

The defense sucked, big time. But the offense did nothing to help them. Non-existent offense for most of the 2nd half. Total team loss.

Non existent offense in the second half?? I think you mean first...

But you realize, that we had only run like six offensive plays to their 27 by the time we were down 21-0 right? Yes, that's bad. But when your getting it handed to you that badly, one half to the next, there was probably something really wrong with your gameplan to start the game.

I was disappointed the defense didn't press those WR's from start to finish. The only way they can beat you is to let them off the line of scrimmage and run freely, that is exactly what we did the first half.

While the game appeared close because of the final score, the Patriots are the superior team without any question.

The Dolphins defense would have likely given up 50 points if the Patriots 2nd string QB had not been injured and their third string QB, who had never been in a regular season game before yesterday didn't have to enter the game.

The defense allowed the Patriots to run all over them late in the game and were merely fortunate that one of the best kickers in the game the last decade missed a chip shot that would have put the game out of reach.

The offense played much better in the second half. Unfortunately like the last several years, the offense just can't seem to play for four quarters. They failed to show up for the first half of the game and with the defense stinking up the joint, the offense had too big a hole to crawl out of once they finally got their act together.

The Dolphins have an anemic rushing attack and they have a putrid defense. These are areas they will need to concentrate on in the draft and free agency over the next couple of years. Right now though, this team is at least three years from being a legitimate playoff contender because they just don't have a lot of talented NFL players on their overall roster.

They may just be able to do it against Cleveland. If they do, that'll be a good sign, but even then we have to see them do it consistently before saying Gase has helped this offense turn a corner.

The Browns are terrible and it is very likely they will be using their third string QB against the Dolphins. This should be a win for the Dolphins.

I really don't know what the Dolphins will learn by beating a team that is probably one of the worst teams in the NFL. If they lose though, it might be time to abandon ship, because we are in for a loooong season.

either way it will be long until this coaching staff figures things out.

It looks to me like Gase found Lazers play book and calling plays out of it. Took like 3 series for them to call their first slant, which was a first down!

Defense last 2 weeks didnt make much sense. Wilson is inured badly, and you don't stuff the box and get more pressure on him when he couldnt move?? this week you let slight WR's get free releases off the line of scrimmage (notice the Pats did call a ton of slants)

Letting Grimes go was a big mistake.

I think he would've been very damn useful at the slot position.

That's the area in particular where our defense is allowing continuous drive.
