This defense is the reason I'm glad I rarely drink. Something tells me that, by the end of the year, I'll be on the list for a new liver.

What I saw was a beautiful U-shaped pocket that allowed Tannehill to scan the field and hurl darts for most of the day. Even when someone blew past a blocker it wasnt the jailbreak variety of the past four seasons where Tannehill had no where to turn. I dont see anything different in Tannehill's play right now other than confidence in the pocket which allows him time to scan the field and avoid the lone pressure that crops periodically. This is the Tannehill we could have been watching for the last two years except for the fact we had the worst oline in the NFL and imbeciles for coaches

Amid all of this, can we just keep the guy relatively clean for ONE GAME?!? One game!!!

Look, some of this falls on Tannehill; his pocket awareness sometimes falls short. But man, even on some positive plays, he gets knocked to the ground. It happens, but I think it happens more with him. Dude takes some serious shots.

But I love Tanny for this: he hasn't publicly complained. Love it! He's tough as nails. Give the guy credit.

I see a kick *** QB who throwing darts and lasers all over the field trying to bail his team out. I love the IDIOTS killing this guy. By the way, how's Luck fared the past four years????

I went back and watched the play a couple more times because with a few people saying this, I thought maybe I remember it wrong. After watching it again, I'm not really sure how anyone can interpret that as anything other than Parker stopping and backpeddaling too early. Seems pretty cut and dried. I see my WRs do this from time to time and it makes me crazy, but sometimes it's instinct when you're downfield and the ball is in the air for so long. There is no benefit to stopping and backpeddaling there, though.

He turns his head as he is approaching the goal line in order to start tracking the ball. Can't just run blind into the endzone, turn around, and then jump. But it was at that moment he realizes there's a lot more air under the ball and his momentum carries him backwards like that.

DB's are already back there guarding the boundary. IMO Ball placement should've been about a yard or two shallower in the endzone if he's throwing to a guy in stride like that.

Also, Tanny was taking one to the gut as he was throwing. I agree, though, should've been a tad more air under the ball. But under that kind of duress, he gets a pass. I'm sure he's well aware of it, though, and knowing what I've seen from Tannehill, he's going to work in it. He's worked with putting a little more air on some of these deeper balls in the past couple of years, I suspect he knows exactly what he needs to do the next time this occurs.

    Guy's..

At this point he knows his only hope is to throw a pass that only Parker can go up and get and he did.

I'm not sure the communication was all that great considering the hectic scenario....but he also can't assume when throwing that Parker is going to stop and get lost in the shuffle.

In that spot you make a throw and hope. And IMO he gave DeVante a great chance to make a play

A WR should be able to turn his head to track the ball without squaring up like that. He should have turned his head in stride as he carried his route deeper. If you're nitpicking Tannehill could have thrown it a yard shorter, but you're talking about almost a 50 yard pass as the crow flies as you're getting hit with three defenders there. As it is, I think he gives Parker a chance and I'm not sure how many QBs fit the ball in there like that on that throw.

Looked like Parker's body got outside of his feet when he turned the 2nd time, couldn't recover. Wasn't quite a Hail Mary, but it was a prayer.

I kind of give Parker a pass given the situation. When seeing the play live, I thought he felt he was close to the back of the endzone, which would make sense for the hesitation. He looked a little off-balance, but he did look like he didn't even give it a good shot. In his defense, the ball was humming intead of your typical "jump ball" scenario. So, who knows? It happened. I'm over it. Let's finally get this first win for the team and coaches against the Browns with a third-string QB.

Pretty much. Felt the defender on his left hip and felt the dafety who was essentially playing the back corner and overthe top. He's not exactly AJ Green or Odell Beckham quite yet. Tough play from that distance when the ball has to travel so far. Different situation from 15-20 yards out.

I just rewatched that play and Stills short steps it before the ball gets there and then does a ballerina leap to get a hand on it. If he stays full stride I think he could have caught it. If you're watching game pass the second angle on the broad cast slowmo replay makes this clear. Then it's a race to spike the ball. Of course he'd take a crushing hit, unavoidable in that situation. I think Stills misjudged it though. I don't think he heard the proverbial foot steps as I have seen others intimate.

We also had our helmet headsets go out in the first half which is a typical problem in Foxboro...because Cheatriots...but we're one of the teams that can't overcome it.

I very well could be mistaken, but I thought Moore had the same problem from the sideline. I didn't see it, but I could have sworn one of our members thought they saw him "say it." (reading his lips during the broadcast) I know, I know... very well could be just reading into things, but also maybe worth just taking a look at that time in the game of the recording.

I am not saying it was the Patriots fault, but it would be concerning if it happened to both around the same time. Not sure who to blame if that is the case. Perhaps our equipment manager?

I don't think it's that much of a coincidence that the offense played better in the 2nd half when the team began communicating better. I do think the headsets had alot to do with it, but again, we're not a team that can overcome it. That's one of the things that separates Tanny and some of our other players from being around average from being near the elite. Certain teams can overcome headset issues, we can't. I think the headset problem, whatever it was, was resolved and it contributed to the offense playing better after the half. Not saying it was the main reason or anything, but it was definitely a problem and the team undoubtedly had communication issues in the first half.

I'm not surprised with the bold part. We have 4 Left Tackles starting on the line. Tackles like to move people sideways while backing up and Guards like to move people backwards while plowing forward. We need some true guards to be able to run the ball. Tbaum s*** the bed on this one. Ireland would have been roasted for this.
