I would be ok with that. 3 and out is 3 and out. If the offense does play better no huddle then do it!
What question are you asking that I'm avoiding?. The offense played better in the second half because RT made better throws and his receivers made some nice catches. Sacks are not the only determination that a line is playing better in a half. Maybe they allowed more time to find an open receiver or did not blow any assignments. I'm not sure what the point you are trying to make? Actually, I do know the point you are trying to make. Tannehill stunk in the 1st half. In the second half the OL and receivers stayed the same, but Tannehill only did better because the Pats checked out mentally. I wonder why you would push that narrative? EXACTLY what I am talking about. People trying too hard. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Trying to hard? It is really simple explanation. You are the one trying hard to justify his wonderful second half. Maybe the lights did come on for him, maybe after 6 quarters of football this season he gets it now. Maybe we need to get down by 24 every game so he plays great??
You can't run no huddle all the time because the offense will get worn down as well, but it could be inserted to the game plan more often, like the old Bills teams.
I don't buy into the Patriots letting up on us. When have they ever done that. They've always been about driving up the score no matter what. Kick 'em when they're down. I think it's much more likely they adjusted at halftime and Patriots had difficulty adjusting. They only stopped us because Ryan threw that last interception. Otherwise, we win. And... if you have game rewind go back and watch how the holding goes in each direction. Wish i had more time, I'd post some vids. Watch what the Patriots are allowed to do to our pass rush. It's insane. Considering how they adjusted, I think they played well with a few very costly mistakes. And the refs definitely paid them back for the comments about being upset about the no call holding on Seattle's last drive in week 1. Yeah I know it's not the same refs, but just saying.
NFL.com had every pass Tannehill threw in the game. Go watch it ...... the Pats were routinely dropping 7-8 defenders back into coverage, no matter how they lined up. That wasn't the case in the first half when they were pinning their ears back with a 3+ score lead.
I replied to your assertion that it could not be Tannehill that played well in the second half, that it MUST be something else...had to be. I am really just going with that the offense executed better and made better plays...the same way I went with the offense not executing and not making plays in the 1st half. Just boggles my mind that we have Dolphin fans that would rather find some other explanation than that the QB of a team they root for, played well in a second half of a football game. I get that you do not think he is the answer, but it should not be this hard to come to the conclusion that he and the rest of the offense played really well in the second half.....but it is, sadly. Justify a wonderful second half? Wow. That justifies itself, with no agenda. The same way their play in the first half justifies itself, with no agenda.
What you are saying could be true. Everything else was equal and HE just started playing better. That could be it.
It could be true. But we've been down this road before when he flashes excellence. The question is - when will it become consistent? When will he march into NE and play a complete game?
so there was no pressure in the 4th quarter with less than 5 minutes to play and they were losing to Seattle and QB17 led the team to a TD and the lead?
No huddle or not if we do not go after Jamar Taylor on every play i'm going to be disappointed in Gase.
that's odd because his comment seems to encompass all of qb17 career games just not the patriots last week. but i guess for the anti tannehill gang it's easier to say what you did when pressed with proof tannehill isn't as god awful as you think he is.
What I see is that QB17 played better once the pressure was gone, and he's done that before, once you're down 24-0, all the pressure is gone. There has only been one game this year where the Dolphins were down 24-0. Tannehill did have ONE great drive in the Seahawks game, you are correct.
Normally I'm with you and Finster on a lot of these issues ........ but starting off 0-2 and the team getting its *** kicked up in Foxboro again would create a ton of pressure on Tannehill considering all the talk that Gase is his messiah. In terms of physical pressure, the Pats didn't come after him. They challenged him to throw into coverage that commonly had 7-8 defenders. To his credit, he used his legs to create better passing windows and the O-Line held up for the most part. Does that same story play out if Garappolo had still been playing and the game situations persisted as they did thru the first 1.5 quarters? Doubt it.
I hear what you're saying and I agree, but once you are down 24-0, then 31-3, the pressure to win is gone, that was all I was saying.
