Torn between Eli Rogers, Victor Cruz, and Devante Adams. All three are available right now on the waiver wire. - Rogers looked like he had a ton of chemistry with Big Ben. The problem is what happens when Wheaton gets healthy and I don't play in a PPR league, so will be score enough TD's? - The Giants are going to be running 3 receiver sets all year long. In Week 1, Cruz played in all passing downs and 50 of the 56 snaps. I feel like he's ripe for a comeback year. He's got the Saints coming up here in Week 2. - Devante Adams is a big body to lob TD's to. Jordy Nelson is going to need a little while to get comfortable again on that knee going full speed in the regular season. Usually talented receivers see an uptick in their sophomore season as they get more polished in their route running. He's got a juicy game vs. Detroit in Week 3.
When I drafted Henry, I was thinking the same thing ..... maybe even a week or two sooner than that. Didn't like how little they used him in Week 1 though. Trying not to do something hasty and drop him in favor of adding another receiver.
Since it isn't PPR, I'd go with Adams. I liked what I saw from Rogers, but he was invisible in the 2nd half.
okay: PPR league. Arian Foster @ New England or Ryan Mathews at Chicago? and I have D Henry stuffed on my bench and won't drop him. Too much potential.
That's my hesitation with Rogers - if they get up big in games and go run-heavy in the 2nd half. Not to mention he doesn't strike me as a redzone threat. My God did he look shifty though ..... really quick burst off the line and out of his breaks.
That's tough because Mathews isn't really used in the passing game. Sproles is. Mathews will get the carries though. Foster's matchup is tough but he does get some passes. Since neither had a great game week 1, I'd go with whoever had the higher point total.
Matthews. The Pats run D looked fairly stout vs. AZ. I don't have any faith in our offense up in Foxboro given that's a new scheme they're getting acclimated to. Albeit, the flip side of that is perhaps we go a little more run-heavy. I still think the Iggles will have more scoring opps than the Dolphins.
yeah, that's how I'm leaning. I think I'll wait until next week to break out Arian Foster vs Cleveland.
Cruz. The NYG will be a top 3 fantasy option week in and week out. Weak run blocking ol, strong QB play, plenty of targets to go around. I've had sterling Shepard pegged for OROY and I think Cruz can easily make a bid for 1000 yards and 8 TD
One more question ..... Do you guys roll the dice with 1 QB in a 12-team league or do you keep a backup? Right now I've got Cam Newton and Ryan Tannehill.
I would never, ever go with just one QB. I'm not in a 12-team league this season, but if I were, I'd probably have two, depending on roster size. I keep two in the 10-team, and 3 in the 8-team leagues I'm in.
In a 12 team i keep 2 especially if everyone else is. For all the stink about skill players in fantasy, qb still usually score the most points week in week out. In 10 team leagues it really depends on roster size and if everyone else is keeping 2. Or i may keep 2 through a qb bye week if i really feel like im set with a Brees or a Luck at the qb spot and the backup wont play anyway.
I keep a backup QB in 10, 12 and 14 team leagues. In the 10 team league, I switch him out a few times a year, but in the 14 team league, good backup QB is too good to switch out - nothing on the waiver wire.
For my 14 team league PPR, my flex I have to decide between Delanie Walker, Victor Cruz or Cole Beasley. Right now I'm leaning towards Cruz vs the Saints even though Walker also has a good matchup vs Lions.
Forte scored 55.5 for my friend our of his flex spot last night. Thankfully, he's not playing me this week.
Forget Cole Beasely. It's a two horse race as far as I'm concerned between Walker and Cruz. There's like a 40-50% chance of rain in NY on Sunday, but the Titans game is on that track field @ Detroit. The Lions LB core looks pathetic in coverage. I've got Walker as my starting tight end FWIW. I've also got Tajae Sharpe sitting on my bench, but I can't bring myself to start him unless I sit Jarvis Landry.
Yeah, I've perfected it over time. What I love the most is that a guy can score a ton, or nothing at all, depending on how well he does. A good week for a WR or RB is about 25 in my system. A good QB will average about 50. We use six individual starters on defense too. 200 points total for a week is solid. Last week, a guy got 300, another only 120.
problem is that this stupid 14 team league I'm in has no TE slot. To play Walker, he'd have to slot into my flex. so, it comes down to Walker or Ryan Mathews.
I've got a bit of a conundrum. Do I start DeSean Jackson v Dallas or Edelman v Phins this week as my WR2? It is a PPR. I get the feeling Cousins is gonna air it out against Dallas, they don't have much pass rush. But putting aside my obvious rooting interests, without Gronk this week, Edelman could be in line for tons of targets. Tough decision i think.
I think you're good with either one. Desean had 6 receptions on 10 targets last week, Edelman 7 for 7. Desean probably more likely to get a big play and more yards.
Yea im leaning D-Jax because of the big play potential. He is likely to get a 50+ yard td at any point. I was encouraged by his 10 targets last week.
I have a RB2 and a Flex for Doug Baldwin, Arian Foster, Thomas Rawls, Devante Parker. PPR league. I have Baldwin and Foster going now, does that seem like the best option? I could see Rawls or Parker scoring more than each but I'm not sure. Thoughts?
I think baldwin and foster are the right calls. I like Rawls but I'm sitting on him until we see how much production Michael takes from him.
Baldwin and Foster. I think Rawls is tough because you dont know what the split is between him and Michael. Baldwin is getting close to becoming a must start every week.
I was recently offered Beckham and Elliott for A.Brown and L.Miller. Thoughts? Leaning no but figured I would run it by here. Current team is below. QB/RB/RB/WR/WR/TE/FLEX/K/DEF. 1/2 PPR. QB A.Rodgers RB L.Miller C.Hyde T.Rawls C.Michael M.Jones WR A.Brown A.Robinson K.Benjamin Q.Enunwa J.Gordon TE Z.Ertz D.Pitta
I would absolutely hang onto Brown and Miller, and wouldn't even hesitate to say no. Beckham will put up his big weeks, but Brown will to and will be much more likely to put up points every single week. I think that Miller is likely to be more valuable in PPR than Elliot many weeks too, and that baring injury, he's going to end up a top-5 rusher to boot.
Who should I start? Need 2 DeSean Jackson @ NYG Taje Sharpe @OAK Quincey Enunwa @ KC Victor Cruz @ WSH
I'll preface by saying I don't love any of these but Sharpe and Cruz would be my choices based on match ups and productivity. Jackson, presumably will be shadowed by Janoris Jenkins in an improved NYG defense. I don't like that matchup much but I could understand the logic since Jackson always seems to have a special place in his heart for breaking the Giants balls. End was @ KC I don't like a lot....I just see that being an ugly defensive slugfest type game.
I agree with this. The Miller vs Elliott part bothers me if its not a keeper. I was happy when people were taking Elliot top 10 in redraft leagues. No matter how good the OL, I just never felt that kind of production was going to happen year one.
Yeah I know, I don't like these options either. I'm trying to make a trade, Keenan Allen really killed me, then AP lol so who's up for an injury this week? UPDATE: Just made a trade for Philip Dorsett and Julius Thomas, Gave up Gio Bernard and Fleener. So throw Dorsett into the mix there, better play?
I dropped Sharpe this week to add Cruz. I also have Delanie Walker - so I couldn't possibly start two Titans in the same game ..... at least not from a receiving perspective. It wouldn't shock me if he had a good game against the Raiders - who give up the most fantasy points to WR's. But, I dunno ...... after two weeks I don't like what I see out of their passing game right now. Then again, Mike Mularkey is their coach. Hell, they struggled @ Detroit. With NYG, you know they're going heavy with the 3WR sets. If you're eyeballing a one week move I can understand it but over the course of this year, I believe cumulatively Cruz will outperform him. It's highly likely ODB Jr. will be drawing Josh Norman all game long ..... leaving Shepherd and Cruz to get a lot of looks.
I smell something fishy going on in one of my money leagues.. Earlier in the season 2 teams traded: Elliot/Landry for LeSean Mccoy I petitioned to veto the hell out of that trade; Now the team that gave up Elliot and Landry, just dropped Alshon Jeffery and team 2 in that trade just happened to be #1 in waivers and claimed him. Can anyone here find the logic in this..
Kick them both out of the league, have the commish lock their teams and put jeffery back on the original squad. Thats collusion.
