We just eek out a win on Sunday. This needs to be a 30-9 trouncing. I want the score run up against the Browns. Anything less it's gonna be a real long season.

disagree, we may still be on the verge of competing. We ain't taking the division but we could still be in the game in December for a WC spot. Team needs to show they can beat the teams we're supposed to convincingly. We have a weak outing against the Browns even if we squeak one out then we know for sure this team has no shot at even being 500

We aren't a team that's going to win anything significantly this year. But me being smack dab in the middle of the O-H?? We must win these games vs Browns n Bengals.

I have to have something to hang my hat on after a another -10 win season

If this team can play together cohesively, on offense defense and special teams to pull out a victory in a manner deemed worthy of its talent, is all I ever ask of it, expect every sunday no less from it, as it has my unconditional support regardless of whether it delivers it

we have lost two close games. maybe learning to win a close game can go a longer way. But I would like to see a blowout

This game needs to be a blowout to give this team any confidence at all. Winning this game 20-19 on a last second missed field goal will not do anything.

This needs to be a dominating win.

I've learned to have 0 expectations for this team and organization. At this point, we've seen everything you can do to screw a season, draft and offseason. We've see it done multiple ways by multiple players, GM's and coaches.

If they win, that would be great. If they lose or eek out a close win, it's Miami baby!

I'm hoping to finally see the offense be great for 4 quarters of football. We've seen enough half-games over the years where the offense played well (including 2nd half last week), but 4 quarters is what we need.

And yeah we need a blowout. Browns on average gave up 28 points and scored 15 on the road last year, so that's a good barometer. Not just play consistently well but score more than 28 and give up less than 15.

Hard to expect a blowout win for Mia against anybody but the home opener after an 0-2 start with a revamped stadium vs a team less talented than us is as good of a chance as we will have. The Browns on the other hand are probably looking at this game as one of those few "winnable" games for them. It wouldnt surprise me at all if the game was close. Mia has shown the uncanny ability to get dominated in the T.O.P. battle. Thats how bad teams win games, they limit the opportunities the other team has to let their talent win out. A turnover here or there and boom, you are beat. Best news for this week is we wont have to listen to any morale victory garbage by some rosy colored fans.

    Conclusions would be different.

If we win by 14 or more points, then one could say we are above average as a team (with no distinctions made between offense and defense) relative to the Browns when we play at home.

If however we score more than 28 or let them score less than 15, then one can say something about our offense or defense being above average relative to the Browns when playing at home. So I'd prefer 28+ on offense and 15- on defense for that reason.

I expect Cleveland to play us pretty tough. It's not as if we are an upper echelon team, but I do feel that Baltimore is a playoff team and the Browns got up on them really quick. Credit the Ravens for making a sweet comeback against an inferior team. If we (on the other hand) get into a hole like that, we usually never come out of it. Yeah....we make the game interesting, or the score closer, but I can't remember the last time we came back from a big deficit such as twenty or so points and won a game. It's got to be way back when Marino was still the quarterback.
Bottom line is we can't take Cleveland lightly, they have some players on that roster that can win them a game...Joe Haden being one of them, Crowell being the other, especially if he gets going in the run game (which we struggle stopping). There is also the dreaded "ex Dolphin" that beats us, and this week it could be Jamar Taylor. Sealing the game with an end zone interception as Tannehill and the fins are driving late down 24-19....We've scored nineteen because our kicker was able to notch four field goals. Anyway....3rd and goal from the nine yard line and Taylor picks Tannehill in the end zone on a pass intended for Jordan Cameron (an ex Brown) sealing the W, with 0:34 remaining.....These are the scenarios that play out in my head, and then become published on the field every Sunday.
So far we have lost both games to start the season in the purest, most original form of Miami Dolphin fashion. It's not going to surprise me at all if this is an abortion of a game with the final score being 15-9 via a barrage of field goal assault. So while I prefer a win at all costs, I would enjoy a 38-14 thrashing much more.

What's funny to me is that so many of the same people that are saying we need to crush the Browns and not just win, are the same ones that said our losses at NE & Seattle, were still loses no matter how bad or not they were.

I met Jeff Cross at the preseason game in Orlando. He was asking a few of us how many games we thought Miami would win this season. He's thoroughly convinced Miami is going to win 10 games this season. I'm not so optimistic however what I want to see is steady progression during Gase's first year as head coach.

    We BARELY lost to Seattle
We BARELY lost to New England

I want to see a win against Cleveland, regardless if it's by 1 or 21

As the season progresses, I want to see us start rolling all over opponents, being the juggernaut that many have expected Miami to be. In December, I want Miami to be the team that NO ONE wants to find its way into the playoffs.

Until then guys, remember this is a first year head coach. We can't expect every first year head coach to have he same success that Jim Harbaugh had in San Francisco.

I don't expect a blowout because if/when Miami gets a lead I fully expect them to go into cruise control knowing they have a tough match-up in just a few days against Cincinnati.

I would expect limited snap counts for Suh, Tannehill and a few of the pass rushers should the lead allow.

To me these numbers matter...2,3,4 etc.

Those are win streaks...and if we win by 1 or 40...doesnt matter as much as 2 wins in a row..then 3 wins in a row..or 4 does. We have to get to the point where we can string wins together. Thats what playoff teams do. They dont win one..then lose one.

Obviously to start a streak..you gotta win. So dont care about score....other then the fact that will make this place more enjoyable if we win big.

First off, nobody should lose to Cleveland this season....nobody. They're that beat up. The only thing they have going in their favor is a rookie RB that looks promising at this point.

When you look at our Fins though, we opened the season on the road against two legit Super Bowl contenders this year. Nobody wins in Seattle because of the noise. Not Manning or Brady or Big Ben....nobody. Then you have New England where few teams can't win for a different reason. Opposing coaches talk about bugged locker rooms, scouts in the booth reading team signals, technology to jam radio communications, etc...nobody seems to win there either folks. It's kinda funny how we've beat New England 4 of the past 5 at our house yet we get blown out in Gilette....and this is just not me saying that. I am talking about current NFL coaches screaming about this to the league.

So we had two road games that we basically had zero chance at winning...and we should have won both. Yet after that loss to the Pats, Landry broke down and cried. Tannehill was furious at himself, despite playing a near-perfect second half. The whole team took these losses hard since there's no such thing as "moral victories". Despite missed field goals, loud stadiums, cheating and dropped touchdowns, we should be 2-0 right now. And if we were after beating two of the toughest squads in the league on their turf....we'd likely be ranked #1 overall in the NFL right now. How could we not?

There is only one agenda for today's game in Miami's viewpoint and that's to show that they are a force to be reckoned with. I agree wholeheartedly with the OP...the only outcome that will satisfy this squad is a blowout on both sides of the ball. We need to win decisively for us an to set the pace for the season, and I think a 4 point win won't do that...not after how emotional this team was after two gut-wrenching losses.

    Here and there
I don't look too much into Cleveland giving the Ravens a hard time last week, division games are usually more competitive because of familiarity and consider the Browns new HC is from within the division makes even more sense it was closer then some would think. That being said I don't think this game is a blowout, we are just not that team yet. ten point difference like 20-10 is what I would expect here give or take points 23-13, 27-17.

This is why I would never expect a blowout victory from this team. 1) this offense isnt good enough to blow anybody out without a bunch of turnovers on D and even then, its unlikely. They might have the occassional game where everything works and they get big plays but normally we will struggle to score 20. Hard to blow teams out like that. 2) the run D will shorten the game. We arent very good at stopping the run 3) you never know whem tannehill will have one of those games where he cant hit the broad side of a barn and commits turnovers because he makes his mind up where he is going before the ball is snapped 4) the 3rd down passing just isnt good enough

Well.. so much for hoping for a blowout (saying this at halftime). Don't blame the defense. No matter how bad they look, they've given up only 6 points in the 1st half.

Offense and Tannehill suck! Offense has a NET of 3 points LOLOL.

I just hope we win this.
