Here's Ryan Tannehill in his own words describing what an awful and ugly day it was:
    http://www.miamidolphins.com/multim...ferences/b5906057-66f7-4705-a7d8-2b194736e977

His tone is as solemn as I've ever heard it so why we've got anyone who wants to flip the narrative when the HC and QB themselves are dejectedly declaring it bad day, I don't know.

Accept that it was a failure in terms of execution on offense and move on I say.

If I disliked Tannehill I would've been all over him game 1 half of game 2. I never even claimed he played bad yesterday just claimed it wasn't very good.

    What's wrong with u folks.

I don't think that now is the time to make any decisions. Matt Moore and Brandon D. are not better than RT. I am a huge RT supporter, but I can tell you that this was not his finest moment. Considering our other options at QB at the moment, I can tell you with 100% certain TODAY is not the day to move on. Let the season play itself out. With 13 more games, we will have much more data to make a better choice.

I personally would rather use draft picks on defense than another QB. We got beat up on by the backup to the backup and a gimmick player. That, to me, is the bigger takeaway.

Did you know, probably not, that the starting Broncos QB was a 7th round draft pick? Did you know he was also on the practice squad and not claimed by anyone? did you Tom Brady was also a 7th round draft pick?

A broken record? We ALL know they are not going to replace Tannehill any time soon. The What does the NFL know was no reference to Dougthy.

I know your feelings are hurt cause Tannehill is not playing lights out like you want.

Weren't both Siemian and Brady drafted into top rated defenses with well established run games?

I'm interested why you think this? Except for maybe some extreme fans, I think most in our fanbase have been patient with Tannehill. Knowing that he was raw out of college, I have him a free pass the first two years.

Even elite QB's have bad days. If not, the top 5 guys would all throw for 55 TDs and no INT every year. I wouldn't even count it as "bad," just people went in thinking we were going to win by 75 points. He threw 3 TDs. I remember a time we discussed for like a decade "what it would be like to have a QB with a passer rating over 90."

He takes too many sacks, starts to take less. He can't hit longer passes, second in league over 20 yard plays and been accurate on long passes. Can't lead a comeback, does it. Can't run unscripted, does it well last week. Can't go through progressions, everyone else acknowledges he is doing it. Needs a higher YPA, a full yard more this year basically. An unbiased film watcher who grades QBs on a weekly basis his him in the top 5 and 7 last two weeks, but he's complete trash and should be benched. I've honestly never seen more of a "grass is greener on the other side" situation in my entire life as a Dolphins fan. I don't even get the point of posting about it anymore.

Exactly what everyone else has said. Who's disagreeing?

It's also true that their are a handful of QBs you would never give the ball too in that spot.

Why does either mean anything negative towards you and Matthews man crush?

he has good pocket awareness if he can see it. He just doesnt hear footsteps from his blindside like some other QBs. That trait doesnt determine success or failure the way accuracy, arm strength, intelligence do

well....to argue your points, those picks he's been throwing have been the dumbest picks I've ever seen him throw, he's regressing in that area because most of his picks have come from balls bouncing out of his WRs hands but these latest ones. Him having no awareness absolutely detirmines success or failure because he turns the ball over often when he's hit. He's just not progressing in that area, the ball has to get out sooner and not to mention the fact he still likes to play it safe, the worlds have to align perfectly for him to take chances down field.

Uh, he does not turn the ball over often when hit, or he'd lead the league in turnovers for the past four years.

His ints have mostly been when he's taking a hit while throwing this year...which, coincidentally, is probably why we've so many short passes, both last year and this year. People *****ed about the short throws, and now they ***** when they try longer throws, and ints creep in because the line really can't block long enough. Now you are arguing the ball needs it sooner again? Ok, then say hello to the ****ty bubble screens, and other short routes we all hate.

Please dude, he's just not good enough. He may be a bright pre med student but doesn't have the smarts for the QB position. It's finally taken me five years to realize it, the sooner you realize it there will be a huge burden lifted, you'll feel better. Those picks were terrible and should've never happened and he does turn the ball over more often than most other QBs, maybe it's because he holds it too long but whatever we need a more instinctual QB at this point. This is his last year as a Dolphin QB, I hope he enjoys the rest of his time here. Believe me, I'm more disappointed than anyone here he didn't work out.

None of this really matters. He played poorly. The whole team played poorly. Is fate will be decided by the powers that be at the end if the season. I am pretty disappointed because despite his numbers on paper, he left a number of plays on the field. All QBs have bad days so I am willing to give him this one. I am also willing to cut him and the rest of the team, offense anyway, some slack til after week 8. If they can't put it together by mid season, which seems to be the norm for a coaching/system change i will reevaluate my position.

As a point, he has had 12 interceptions in each of the last two years. Less than one per game. So I reject the notion he is an interception machine.

Do all QBs have bad days where they throw for 300+ yards and 3 TDs?

Wait... you're just throwing in the towel now on Tannehill?

Because... looks like you threw in the towel on him back in November 2015...

I didn't want to even address the "he was the biggest THill supporter comment." If you took a poll, FinD or myself, or Falco would probably get that honor...even though I don't think any of us actually are fans of him. We're just fans of not spreading false info about him.

Is it really hard to throw for 300+ yards when you have no running game and you throw the ball 38 to 40 times a game?

Well, I just checked and his YPA averages were 8.6 against NE and 8.2 against Cleveland so I'd be inclined to say he actually did pretty well. Both days were good enough for 93+ ratings, although cbrad showed that 93 was actually lower than the expected against Cleveland. They were giving up over 100 rating last year I believe. Not sure against NE.

    EDIT

Seattle allowed a 79 rating while playing at home last year so Tannehill's 75 was 4 below a quick and dirty guess.

Cleveland allowed a 109 rating playing on the road last year so Tannehill's 93 was 16 below a quick and dirty guess.

New England allowed an 82 rating playing at home last year so Tannehill's 93 is more than 11 above a quick and dirty guess.

He actually threw 4 tds but he didnt want to mention the other one for some reason. Or the 3 turnovers that wouldve gotten us beat against one of the worse teams in the nfl. 300 yards in todays nfl is like 200 not that long ago. 400 yards today is the new 300 that used to signal a big day. These guys so desperately tout stats that were impressive 20 yrs ago without factoring over half the league puts up better numbers than thill. Thilll may have a record to himself soon tho. Cant imagine theres been too many fins qbs who started 5 straight seasons without a winning record.
