Yeah, hardly anyone replies to my posts nowadays anyway. My posts are typically benign and offer little in the way of what many do not already know.

Sarcasm aside, I certainly do want want Gase fired, and would not wish for anyone to get fired (though it is part of being a coach), but I cannot deny Hue Jackson's solid game plan. Cleveland played a helluva game. They were not a pushover, and Cleveland has a good coach for the future if they decide to keep him around long enough.

I respect how he is going about it, but I truly wonder IF he's in too deep with the open dialogue with Tannehill? I just get this feeling that maybe some of these issues lie with Tannehill. I get the new system, etc., but I just wonder if the common denominator in all of this IS Tannehill? Not saying that he is. But I can't deny that this feeling in the forefront of my big ole dome.

*For the record, my dome is merely average. I only practice hyperbole when talking about my gigantic pen.....

That's the gold standard now. And I suspect it is much easier for Belichik to coach now that his reputation precedes him. Gase is still working. I have to wonder about Miami's position coaches. Are they not getting through?

You can't help but wonder. Me too. This team was really bad last year. The fix wasn't going to come over night.

That being said. The only 2 sources I have of weekly QB film evaluation are PFF and Cian Fahey. Both had RT17 listed in the top 10 for week 1 and week 2. Probably not so much this week, but he had a top ten passer rating. Better than anything we've seen since Pennington and what are the options? I was hoping for AJ McCarron a couple of years ago. At least to come in and compete.

Contrary to what many think of me, I would fully support Tannehill getting benched. I even advocated for it last season. My thought is, if Tannehill is playing and looking bad, throw another guy out, and see what he looks like. See if it is Tannehill. If the other guy goes in, and the offense sparks, then I, and others, shut up about Tannehill, and we start looking for our franchise QB. If the other guy goes in, and looks just as bad, I shut up about Tannehill, and we start looking for our franchise QB, cause Tannehill isn't better than his backups. If the guy goes in, and looks even worse, then everyone else can shut up. LOL

What's McCarron up to these days? I personally did not feel him in college, though I thought he had this leadership quality about him.

If I had to nitpick on Tanny, I don't think he has this "natural born leader" instinct about him. I sometimes wonder if the guys even play for him? I think they're playing, but just not giving that extra effort for him. I watched the Albert interview after the game and it just struck me a little funny. I think they respect him as a person, but if you can't carry your team, that respect only goes so far. And QBs have to carry a team. If you dont, you're just another guy. And QBs shouldn't be JAG.

Panic is never the best course of action. Trust me, I'm no QB evaluator but I was an extra for 4 B.L. Stryker episodes.

McCarron is the backup in Cincinnati. He played pretty well when Dalton missed a couple last year. Nick Satan said he was the best QB he's ever had at ALA. He went in the 5th round in the 2014 draft. Doesn't have a RT17 arm but has a high football IQ. Other than Russell Wilson and him, I don't see another QB in the league the Dolphins had a shot at that is potentially better than RT.

Edit. If his teammates watch the tape, they will see the beating he has taken. If that not a leader, I don't know what is.

We don't have "another guy" at the QB position though - at least not someone with potential that you can give a stretch of games to in order to really evaluate. As someone who used to be a big proponent of Matt Moore getting a chance, even I can admit those days are long gone.

Regardless, if he's playing poorly then you bench Tanny to send a message. It's irrelevant to me how long ...... its the act that's important.

Well for all this talk of benching Tannehill by some on this board, Gase is still, publicly at least, in full support of his QB. He basically laid the blame for the offenses problems at the feet of the O-line with his comments in the last two days.
I like that he is willing to be friendly and buddy, buddy with his players and at the same time be willing to call them out publicly if they aren't getting it done.

I kept reading in this thread of moving Tunsil to ROT. That's not going to happen unless there is some kind of unforseen extraordinary circumstance. They are clearly getting him ready to take over for Albert next year and that is why they out him at LG, not RG or ROT. By all counts it is a completely different thing going from Right to Left on the Oline. Ask Jermon Bushrod. I dont see them muddying up Tunsil's prep by having him work on the right.

Gase did get out coached in this game, but he doesn't deserve the axe. He is the youngest coach and needs to be allowed to have some growing pains like we allow the players. I suspect he'll learn from this and get better.

Ask Juwan James if he feels it's an empty threat. He was benched on Sunday after whiffing on the block that lead to the strip sack that almost cost the game.

It's likely a combination, but it's the right move. It's a big, and necessary step in improving the culture around here.

DAVIE — Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Ja’Wuan James said he has “respect” for coach Adam Gase’s decision to bench him at the end of Sunday’s defeat of the Cleveland Browns.
“I respect what he did,” James said. “(Gase) holds us all to a high standard. And I hold myself to a high standard. He does too. That’s what you want from your coach. If I wasn’t getting it done right there he’s doing what he thinks is best for the team. So I respect his decision. I’ve just got to be more consistent.”
At the end of regulation, James was beaten by Corey Lemonier on a strick-sack fumble of Tannehill that should have cost Miami the game. James was replaced by Billy Turner for seven snaps in overtime.

When Ryan Tannehill threw an interception in the second quarter, it appeared he had wildly overthrown Jarvis Landry and came nowhere close to any Dolphins receiver when Briean Boddy-Calhoun easily intercepted a sailing pass and returned it for a touchdown.
But upon closer inspection, Browns defensive end Tyrone Holmes ran around Ja’Wuan James and Holmes’ left hand was literally on the football as Tannehill cocked to throw and as he released the pass.
“It was two big plays,” James said. “You’ve just got to — in talking with coach Gase and talking with the coaches — you’ve just got to be consistent. Those two bad plays were big plays and you don’t want to have those. I don’t want to have those. I want to be counted on. Just got to continue to go back to basics and go out there and make a play.”
The Dolphins plan to stick with James at right tackle at Cincinnati on Thursday night.
James said he had never been pulled from any game in the NFL or at Tennessee.
“It was kind of weird because now everything was out of my control,” James said. “But I tried to stay in the game and if I saw anything and had to be ready to go for the goal line package if an extra lineman was needed or if we had to kick a field goal in that situation. So I just try to stay in the game. Keep my eyes on the game so I can help (Turner) any way.”
Dolphins left tackle Branden Albert said he told James: “We’ve all been there.”
James said he wishes there was a more physical week of practice in which he could re-focus physically, but it’s a short week
“Just continue to work hard at practice,” James said. “Continue to work hard so when I’m tired or it’s late in the games, that’s what you rely on. So it doesn’t go to bad like it did. I have to continue to work hard and press. It’s hard this week because we don’t have a lot of physical practice that we can do because it’s a short week but I’m going to try to go out and mentally get these reps. And mentally get ready.”

He laid down the law alright.... he also gifted AJ Green 173 yards and a TD by benching our "#1" CB (which is also questionable).

This team stinks man, sad days to be a Miami fan
