I'm sure Ryan has a wonderful life outside of football, but I'm talking about his career. I understand he has flaws and I understand he makes a lot of money, but that doesn't make him any less easy to root for.

It's a shame that things are going south with him because he's exactly the kind of guy you want as the face of your franchise. He's not overly vocal but he's tough, he never makes excuses, and he's as classy as a human being that you'll find.

So I'm just saying that if things continue to go as they're going and we cut ties, I hope he can find success elsewhere because I like to see genuinely good people prosper.

Actually as byroan pointed out, we dont know if they were calling for Matt Moore or for "more garbage". This is a fanbase made up of masochists.. it can be either or..

I dont know how i would feel about Matt Moore starting anyways. Will it happen sometime this season? probably..

But Gase will would probably wait till we are mathematically out of the playoffs, that way he can see if Moore can operate his offense and further evaluate the other players.

I've been and will continue to be one of Tannehill's biggest supporters, he's a very likeable guy and he has a lot of talent but he never really got the help he needed to succeed. Today was the day I really finally thought that it is best to move on from Tannehill, a change of scenery is needed on both sides. I understand that Tannehill deserves some of the blame for our lack of success, particularly this season but I agree with the poster who said that Tannehill has been David Carr'ed, he's been beat too much. It just really hurts to give up on our first first round pick at QB since Marino and one, and least in my opinion, had the talent to be so much more for us. He has given us quite a few games that made me believe, especially against the Patriots in 2013, that we finally might be relevant again. I feel like Tannehill getting destroyed every game is quite a good analogy for what we've been going through as fans lately, I'm just sick of being terrible to mediocre.

I just really hope we continue to roll with Tannehill over Moore, if we want to see what Doughty brings to the table I'm okay with that at this point. I'm going to my first ever home game next Sunday against the Steelers, I really don't want to fly to Miami to watch Matt Moore.

Well Gase is doing the right thing by keeping Tannehill as the starter. New offenses typically take 8 weeks to kick in. Gase will look like a genius for sticking with Tannehill either way. If he catches fire, great. If he loses the whole season, great.

Miami fans have simply gone mad...mad, I say!

Dude, did you see that 50 yard bomb to Parker?

He threw that like he was just flipping his wrist. Granted he's in slow motion inside the pocket, but, man, his talent is undeniable.

I'm not ready to trash the 8 week theory just yet. Even if the offense does improve, he may still not be the guy. But Gase is making a positive life gamble by not trashing Tannehill.

Let's get one thing straight. I am not impressed with how Tannehill has played. He was better as a rookie IMO.

...8 week theory yearns to be tested

This, and letting Rishard Matthews go and drafting more receivers. To play devils advocate, Tannenbaum got the jests to 2 afc championships with butt fumble Sanchez, but that was bought by loading up on defense and paying for it later. Ross wants a flashy offense, and picks a GM that seems to specialize on defensive talent, at least in free agency. The FO may not even be on the same page(with Gase being an offensive guy), and we end up with mediocre at best. This team looks 2007 bad, we barely beat the worst team because they choked on a field goal and for some reason decided to kickoff in OT. Im ranting here, but this team needs an identity and I prefer it to be defense. I just recently soured on Tannehill when they played the Bengals. He's turning over the ball too much. You cant do that, you just cant.

No denying tannehill is a great athlete but he doesn't process the information quickly enough. We have been watching him for almost 5 seasons now and despite his athleticism you rarely ever see him escape pressure like sliding in the pocket or stepping up.I can't remember the last time he escaped and ran for a first down.I was watching rivers and he was getting pressured the whole game but despite being non athletic he makes up for it with instincts and is willing to take shots despite the pressure. He is also much smarter at pre snap reads with changing protections. How about against the bengals when they jump off sides and he throws a 3 yard pass. That is a rookie mistake.
Tannehill is a tough son of a ***** no denying this but he just isn't ever going to be anything but middle of the road qb.

I'm somewhere between resnor and pandarilla. not quite off the bandwagon but unbuckling myself and looking for a soft place to land.

Right now, to me Tannehill looks likes someone processing contradictory instructions. (take shots downfield but don"t risk an interception kind of thing).

M worry is that he is getting Henne'd not Carr'ed.

I like that. I think Ryan is a great dude and moving on from him will never feel right because he puts you in a weird position. You respect the heck out of him but at the end of the day there are probably 15-20 other guys who are just better. It's the conflict of being a fan. We all face it. The thing that comforts me is that at the end of the day I don't think Ryan's toughness or personality are rare. What's rare is to find someone as respectable and tough who can also be an franchise QB. Toughness on its own can be found just like a strong arm can be. It's out there in every draft. It just might be found in the 12th best QB. :)

Like I said, Ryan has some of the traits you hope to find, just not all of them. Thankfully he has the ones that should make him a journeyman around the NFL and a respected dude in life.

In talking about RT, you and everyone else has said things that he or she might better not have said. I certainly have, and I am sorry for that.

But there is nothing to apologize for in making a judgment on a player, and sticking up for it, even if you ultimately conclude that you were mistaken.

RT's worst enemy would concede his circumstances have not been ideal in Miami.

-thats good unless someone comes out with a 6 minute abs
What? No...7 is the key number here, think about it 7 heavens, 7 doors, 7 chipmunks sitting on a branch, eating lots if sun flowers on my uncles ranch, you know that old childrens tale from the sea.. its like youre dreaming about gorgonzola cheese when its clealry pree time baby! He did the same thing vs Titans. A clear off-sides on 3rd down no less and he throws a 3 yard pass to the RB inside the 20 lol. Its a shame the dude wasted all that physical talent by having a football IQ of "non existent".

I must have missed that but I would love a reporter to question gase on that.I was ready to move on from tannehill last year but as usual we will be a year to late like everything else with this team.
I sadly feel at 49 years old I will never see this team play a meaningful game again in jan unless ross sells. This once great franchise is now a complete joke.I no longer look forward to sundays with exception of fantasy.

He does those things because he decides where he is throwing the ball before the snap. Come hell or high water that is where he is going. I've said it his entire career. Occasionally you can see him , literally see it, think oh I need to throw somewhere else after waiting for eternity for the guy to come open.

What was even more impressive was Parker finding another gear to track that ball. In real time I thought he pushed off for sure but watching the replay he didn't, he just seemed to propel himself to the ball. He might be right that he's one of the best WRs in the league.

i always had respect for you during the process Res..

I look at the situation and I'm excited, excited to find a young qb who can get us to where we want to go..Hope you will be here every step of the way, and that goes for everyone, we all love this team, thats evident in the passion displayed regardless of what side were on..

I don't hope we all agree on everything but i do hope that everyone learns from a post like Res's that we can disagree and still be a stand up guy, I took some pretty good shots at Res and he did as well, but for some reason there was respect in our tone, even when those shots were a bit harsh.

This is the best football fan site in the game, I've been to all of them, including our opponents, lets be grateful we have this forum, grateful that we can have fun together while our team continues to try and find its way to the ultimate goal..which is something that I've never seen.

Folks, let me clear something up for you. Barring injury, Ryan Tannehill will start all 16 games for Miami this season. That's a guarantee from the front office and Gase has said it at least 1,000 times. Nobody within the Dolphins organization is blaming Tannehill at this point and it's almost silly the amount of people here gathering their pitch forks. Tannehill is playing bad because the team is playing horrible. It's really that simple.

Once we figure out the O-line, we can evaluate a quarterback. But there's nothing to do until then but wait and cuss.

I know I'm not sitting here blaming him for our current situation. That's for sure. Agree that he's starting all 16 regardless though. There's just no point in not playing him. Gase needs to evaluate him to make a decision for next year. I wouldn't say he's the main problem, but he's not entirely helping the situation at times either. He's struggling due to his OL being backups and brutal, and his own shortcomings, and previous poor development.

I am right there with you, I fell off the bandwagon a couple of weeks ago. Despite all the wicked bad oline play he has had to deal with his entire career, the reality is he is just not that good. He has great physical attributes and there is no doubt he is tough enough, but he still cant feel pressure, he still cant seem to get through his progressions fast enough when he does have time, he gets more balls batted at the line than any QB I have ever seen, he still locks on to receivers sometimes and he still cant seem to consistently hit receivers in stride. I just don't get it with this guy.

Now watch... RT will not throw another INT all season and throw for 5000 yds with 35 TD's. And the Dolphins will win 11 games and make it to the playoffs.

    lol

I have been critical of Ryan's play over the last few weeks but I am happy as can be for him today. Really great team effort and it is great to see the O-line do their job for once.
