Former Dolphins and Raiders cornerback Fulton Walker has died at the age of 58.
Walker, best remembered for scoring the first kickoff return touchdown in Super Bowl history, went into cardiac arrest while working on his farm in West Virginia, MetroNews reports.
While playing for the Dolphins in Super Bowl XVII, Walker returned a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown, the first kickoff return touchdown in a Super Bowl. His 190 kickoff return yards in that game and 93 kickoff return yards in Super Bowl XIX gave him a career total of 283, which is still the NFL’s all-time record for career kickoff return yards in the Super Bowl.
Walker played running back and defensive back as well as returning kicks during his college career at West Virginia, and he was also drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates, although he chose not to pursue a professional baseball career.
After retiring from the NFL, Walker coached baseball and football at the West Virginia school he attended as a teenager, Martinsburg High School.

Walker is best remembered for his performance on special teams in Super Bowl XVII and Super Bowl XIX. In Super Bowl XVII, Walker recorded 4 kickoff returns for 190 yards and a touchdown, setting Super Bowl records for most kickoff return yards and highest single game yards per return average (47.5). This included a record 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the second quarter, the first kickoff ever to be returned for a touchdown in Super Bowl history. He also had a 42-yard return that set up a Dolphins field goal.

Very sad. Not a lot of offense for us in Super Bowl XVII...Fulton kept us in the game.
