The Broncos have claimed offensive lineman Billy Turner via waivers from the Ravens.
Turner was waived last week by the Dolphins and claimed by the Ravens. The Ravens waived him last Saturday because he wasn’t caught up with the offense and the Ravens needed the roster spot for a player who was able to play in their game Sunday at the Giants.
The Dolphins drafted Turner in the third round in 2014. He’s made 14 career starts, mostly at right guard.
The Broncos waived offensive lineman Darrion Weems to make room on the roster for Turner. The Broncos host the Texans next Monday, Oct. 24.

Good luck with the Turn Stile

Can't believe any team would waste a spot on him.

Billy Turner has been a reasonable RG in run blocking but needed some help in pass pro. Philbin playing him out of position all over the line didn't help his development. The Broncos run blocking seems to me to be well suited to his skills. I'm not saying the Broncos made a wise choice, but more that I can see why a team might give him a shot.

Dallas Thomas on the other hand ...

You never know how a particular individual feels in different settings, different personalities, different cultures. No better example than Ricky Williams. New England for that matter.

He seemed like a really nice kid. Hope he can exhibit some of the qualities that got him drafted somewhere...

BILLY TURNER'S PLACE ON THE ROSTER

"In the short term, don't expect new the Broncos' newest offensive lineman to be among the players active for Monday night's game against Houston; he's still getting up to speed as he absorbs himself in the Broncos' scheme."

"Settling at the guard spots he knows best will also help Turner. In Miami this year, he worked at all five positions on the line "every day," he said. That included center; he said he snapped the football before practice, which was his first such work since high school."

"I think that was part of the reason why I ended up struggling a little bit, because I was in a different position every day"
"Showing up to games not sure where you're going to end up playing, that can be a handful for a player. It was a handful for me at times, but I'm very fortunate to be where I am."

Yeah Billy, that's why you struggled.

    Well away from here
Well it is hard to settle into one spot when you suck at all of them.
