    Lights out?

    TeeHee.

Guy is a dead end at this point.
A good game here and there does not make a consistently performing QB.
    Time to move on.

I'm not saying Tannehill has been great or anything this year and the Bengals, Browns and Titans game were pretty ugly, but it is interesting to think what the perception of him this season would be if Kenny Stills catches that ball vs Seattle and we win, and Devante Parker doesn't stop during his route during the last play of the Pats game (I thought that was a damn good throw, should have been a TD IMO). Granted that would at best have tied the Dolphins-Pats game, but I would guess we win that game if it went to OT, seeing how we were playing and how the Brissett led Pats were having trouble moving the ball. In this scenario we are 4-2 right now with a relatively soft schedule the rest of the way. I know we are all sick and tired of what if, it's really frustrating but still, IMO, interesting to think about.

what about the IF the defenders don't drop his passes that hit them right in the hands..... all players could be perfect if you play the IF game.

I don't understand why we are still having this discussion weekly. RT is a top 5 quarterback in the league right now for deep passes, average pass distance, and average release time...three things people here have screamed about for years now (myself included). So for anyone who's still saying he hasn't improved this season, just stop it- please. It gets so old when people ignore facts in black and white.

On the other side of the coin, Tannehill praisers need to face up that he has not figured out pocket presence in six years and he will probably never get there. It's no surprise that possibly his best throw of the entire season came last week when he was flushed out of the pocket- that was a toss that only 3-5 of today's starting QB's could make. We also know that Gase is telling RT to scramble often and use his abilities to extend the plays, so there are no more excuses on that front. The line is solid for the moment, so either he plays lights-out or he doesn't. Either way should be 100% on his shoulders.

But what does that mean in the grand scheme of things? He's an above average NFL quarterback that does everything well except for pocket presence- that's his Achilles Heel. And there's really nothing more to say on the matter. With good protection, he's going to carve up defenses and look great. With average or bad protection, he's going to struggle at times. That's who we have folks and it's unquestionably a guy we can win with right now.

If we have to argue about something, then how about the front office knowing everything I just said for 5+ years now and not making it a top priority in the drafts? Tannehill is going to compete regardless, but this organization has set him up for failure every single step of the way. Protect the kid and encourage him to scramble...and we will likely win ballgames. It really is that simple.

Really Tannehill is going to stay in for 2016. And beyond that it is anybody's guess. Adam Gase will not seem to change his mind. For now that is.

Yes. Give him a decent oline, and he'll be extremely successful.

I feel like myself and a couple others have been saying this for going on 5 seasons. The front office sucks bigtime for screwing this up for the last four seasons.

i can only speak for myself, with good protection I have said he can get us to the playoffs, my stance is on the record, is he good enough to go on the road in the playoffs in a hostile environment and win the game..because in those type of games protection will break down..my personal option is the skillset won't hold up, hope I'm wrong.

You act like he's never won a game with bad protection. You act like he's never escaped or countered pass pressure. You act like every team in the playoffs gets to the other team's QB.

His first couple of years he had to win one game in two at the end of the season and he shi* the bed. He has never gotten it done and he never will. All we hear are excuses from fans. If this or that was better..... We were a better team than the two teams we played and he came up flat. The story of his career.

my point is the skill set will eventually let you down..jmo..I believe there has to be a certain level of play making ability and leadership ability to win a championship out of the qb..I need to see an aggressive mindset with Ryan and the way he navigates thru trash to trust...it's been five years haven't seen it enough

You wouldn't see any QB do that behind the line he's had for 5 years. That's the part you don't get.

No line, no running game, no ability to adjust at the line. Those are the 3 things you flat out ignore. And not you or any other person can point to a QB that displayed the things you talked about while dealing with those 3 things. Not one. I've been asking for years and no one can provide an example of all 3. I get insulted and shouted down, yet not one single QB, ever.

If no QB has ever done it, then its ridiculous and unreasonable to expect Thill to have done it.

Your perception is colored by things other than what is happening on the field.

It's also a rarity he puts together two really good starts.

Ryan could improve his resume this Sunday if he plays well.

Fix the OLine, then try to land Romo and draft somebody.
