    Do they accidentally disappear now? I'd imagine there's some people in the world that would like these guys to "go away".

    It's a huge discovery. However, it's just not efficient enough. Mainly because electricity is required to convert the CO2 into ethanol using this new method, meaning that the process represents a net loss of energy.

    Hopefully they can figure that out one day soon.

    I don't think you can make that statement. First, you don't know how much electricity is used to start the catalytic reaction. and if the ethanol is incorporated into something like fuel, you may actually get back a lot of the energy.
