Or Mc Cown or Simms from the Bucs.Anyway they need a backup QB after a poor showing by theirs during their last game vs the Chargers .

They sent a scout to our exhibition game

The way I read is that they are waiting for one to be released rather than to trade for one.

    Interesting.

Could this be Omar Kelly's unicorn? You know the thing that looks like it might be something else, then you find out it really wasn't anything unusual?

i.e. Kelly reporting that scouts were in the stands at practice (or alluding to it) when in fact scouts were in fact at the preseason game - a normal occurrence to a degree.

I can certainly get with that. One of the two are definitely out now. My guess is it's whoever comes in this week and plays in garbage time the best.

Wow I cant believe that. That is crazy. I hope we dont get rid of John Beck. If we trade aby one to them in neds to be Josh McCown. What do you guys think we would get for John Beck or Josh McCown?

I hesitated to post this tidbit because there has been so many false stories lately and I have been one of biggest critics of journalistic standards today so we should just take it as another item to think about not as a real story or even a viable possibility.

Wouldn't they love to take a Dolphins player considering how many of their players or ex-players end up on our roster.

I hear you. It is odd though that you find this in another paper yet Kelly is spouting it on the radio that these guys are at practice.

I have a feeling that this falls under embelishment for Omar.

well if we have to lose one, and I hope it's McCown, then it sure would be nice to get SOMETHING for the guy.

I agree. If we trade any body we need to trade Josh McCown. We wont get any thing for him we will have to give them some thing for taking him.

Given the relationship between the two teams it makes some sense that they would look for the odd man out in the QB situation

If I'm Beck I'm praying, PRAYING, I go to San Francisco. Martz is a looney but he makes QBs look good.

All that wonderful "man" food in Texas and you ask for a red robin burger? I'd be asking for some porterhouses, ribeyes, brisket, bbq something! :D

If there is interest in Beck that pretty much just solidifies how idiotic it is to drop the kid entering his second year.

I'm really agitated at this situation right now, especially after contemplating how long we've been hoping the team would draft some young talent to develop at QB.

So much for Mort's "thought's" if this is true.

If we traded Beck to Dallas, I'd be happy with retaining our 6th for Ferguson, and picking up one of their tackles...or maybe a CB...

    Or..Roy Williams!!!

    (Ducks and heads for cover...)

Watching a segment right now on the QB competition in San Fran, where they can't decide on a starter so it's all messed up ruining the rythym. That's bad considering Martz made Kitna a perennial 4,000 yard passer in Detroit.

Please please dont' let them have Beck for free.

Off topic but Colleen Dominguez from ESPN doing the segment is smoking!

 No doubt. They aren't going to give us anything, esp not this early. They know that we can't keep all four so they can just wait. Other teams are in the same boat we are, so a serviceable backup will be avail sooner or later.

Theres a little difference between us getting players from a perennial playoff team and them getting a player from a team that went 1-15.

If its a "ridiculous" thing to do, it won't be done. If the FO pulls the trigger, then it won't be ridiculous, and will have made sense.

I understand the emotion, CalPhin. Its been so long since we've had anyone in the FO with half a brain that we've all grown accustomed to being smarter than our GM. Even my wife laughed at us when we drafted Eddie Moore...and she only pays a bit of attention.

But I think right now we know to have a little confidence. Reminds me of the lyrics to the Springsteen song, "Thunderroad"..

"Show a little faith theres magic in the night--
You ain't a beauty but hey, you're alright--
    And thats alright with me".....

This FO has a coherent and PROVEN plan. Lets allow it to play out at least one season before we go Ape-shiite on them.

You deify the FO. Not all FOs are flawless, not all moves by this FO is flawless.

If the Dolphins feel Beck is such a bust, why on earth would the Cowboys give that up for a clear career 3rd stringer.

If Beck is seen as a valuable prospect, how is Carpenter and a 3rd round pick enough value for a potential top NFL QB.

Any way you look at it, it dosen't make sense to get rid of this kid right now IMO.
