5 of 5 so far, that last relay was beyond impressive, the mens team had a 5 second win, insane.

Damn, wanted us to win gold in women's gymnastics. Of course, it's questionable whether China's team actually fields women and not underage girls...

Not just that, she also fell on her floor exercises and that set the tone for the rest of the team. Golden opportunity (pun intended) missed.

And if those Chinese gymnasts are at least 14, then I'm 60. I know what a 16 year old Chinese girl looks like believe me and they are not 16.

Baseball doesn't really fit the Olympic ethos, which isn't for overpaid and overhyped millionaires, but for amateur sportsmen and women in events such as kayaking and boxing and table tennis and gymnastics.

LeBron James is already locked in as the MVP. It doesn't matter what he does, or what any of the other players do. While on that note, it still puzzles the hell out of me as to why Dwyane Wade isn't starting. Kidd / Kobe / Wade / LeBron / Howard should be the starting 5. Carmelo Anthony should see a huge decrease in minutes; he's overrated trash and cares about nothing aside from his statistics.

I've also noticed the DISGUSTING chuck job being displayed by Kobe. He's going to have to cut that garbage out Thursday against Greece. He's too valuable of a defender to become a liability offensively, chucking up three after three after three.

whats ridiculous? those girls didn't seem over the mandatory age of 16. They had no way to prove or disprove their legal age. Not one of them were any bigger or more mature looking than my 9 year old niece to be honest, let alone 16...regardless of the hormone imbalance and growth stunting that these kids endure.

    or is something else ridiculous?

I wouldn't stoop to "dumb", but most of the events have been pretty boring. Nothing really interests me aside from the basketball, soccer, and track & field. On the bright side, the other events aren't too bad to have on when you can't sleep at night...........on mute with iTunes booted up of course. I mean, it beats the hell out of watching Brett Favre / New York Mets & Yankees Center (Sports Center).

Soccer and basketball SHOULDN'T be in the Oympics. Javier Mascherano is in the Argentine Olympic football team. He cost Liverpool almost £18 million ($36 million) when we signed him a year ago. He's paid £60,000 a week. That's not the Olympic ethos the way De Coubertain thought it up.

Boxing is different because there is a very obvious split between amateur boxing and professional and that only amateurs fight in the Olympics.

But the Cubans and Japanese aren't overhyped millionaires. They use their professionals, but those guys dont have NEAR the talent of our guys. The Cubans have some damn fine players, and had a nice showing at the WBC. But when they defect over here they're just regualr players IMO.

The Hernandez Bros. were said to be the two greatest pitchers in Cuban history along with Contreras. While they've had limited success, it shows you how good the talent in MLB is.

EDIT: Realistically we still have a shot at beating those guys with our Minor Leaguers. It wouldn't be a lock, but we'd be in medal contention.

Aahh - thanks for that dude. Well then baseball, is more deserving than basketball or soccer.

    Should it be there? Hmmm.

When you consider that poodle clipping was an Olympic event back in 1900, then who's to say.

Oh and if Alicia Sacramone hadn't fallen off the beam, fallen on her back in the floor routine and if Johnson and Nastia Liukin hadn't stepped out of bounds, then it wouldn't have mattered HOW OLD the Chinese girls were.
