So, barring the worst case scenario - a tie - Either Denver or Kansas City is going to be 7-4 after they clash. The question is, who do we need to root for tonight?

I think a Chiefs' collapse in much more likely than a Broncos' collapse.

Right now, we are rooting for the Jets to knock NE on their ***! It's a close game so definitely worth paying attention to.

For tonight's game, both teams have tough schedules to close out the year, although I think Denver's may be the harder of the two. So I'm rooting Denver but I really don't care. Go Jets!

I just read Miami is in 6th alone if KC wins. Tie for 6th if Denver wins.

Damn the Jets, though. They had that game.

Me too, but call it a hunch, I think we would be better off with a Broncos' win...

    Don't know if true.

If Denver wins we'll be tied 5-3 with KC for the conference record. Next tiebreaker is common games (minimum of four) and I think we only have three common opponents so far, Chargers, Jets and Steelers. Strength of victory is the next one, not sure if we win that one, but I remember we had a low strength of schedule... we'll probably lose that tiebreaker.

Raiders don't matter. They should win the West. And the more they win, the less of a chance the Patriots have at home field. So cheer for Oakland. We need to worry about KC and Denver. Denver does play New England in a few weeks, so that's a good game as one will lose.

Taking out the Ravens on the road would be huge despite the Ravens mediocre play. Lots of teams nipping at our heels, so not much room for error. 10-6 is needed, 11-5 would be much better. Of course 12-4 would be the s--t... Miami hasn't won 12 games or more since 1990. 10 or 11 seems most realistic. Tough games ahead though. Bills on road, Pats, Ravens on road. Jets are a rivalry game.

By virtue of tie breakers, if Den wins we will still be in 7th.

I guess we have to root for KC.

If the Broncos lose, they have 4-3 conf record, worse than Miami at 5-3. KC loss would knock them to 5-3 conf record, not sure what the tie break is after that. Strength of Schedule?

Well I'm just going by the NFL standard, there is never any teams actually tied, tiebreakers have one team ahead of another, so if it's us or them, only one team will be in 6th place.

We would have same record, same conference record, KC has the stronger strength of victory, so they would be ahead of us, there are only 3 common opponents so far and 4 are needed to count in the tiebreak.

That's the way i'm reading it, but either way, they would be wrong to say they would be tied, tomorrow there will only be 1 team in 6th place on NFL.com.

    Well it's looks like Den will win, which I think keeps us in 7th, here is the tiebreak rules;

    1. Head-to-head, if applicable. No HtH games
    2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference. =
    3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four. only 3 games
    4. Strength of victory. X
    5. Strength of schedule.
    6. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
    7. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
    8. Best net points in conference games.
    9. Best net points in all games.
    10. Best net touchdowns in all games.
    11. Coin toss.

lol.. if season ended today, we would play the Ravens in Baltimore as a wild card team. So.. next Sunday we get a preview of that!

Very big test for the team. I think we make it 7 wins in a row.
