Well that sucks. I was reserving judgment until the season was over but I wasn't expecting his season to be over. I'll tell you he took a step forward this year. He improved all of his numbers and showed some moxie in that Rams game. I've never, despite some foolish forum member(s) saying I think he's trash, called for him to be cut, benched or anything like that. What I've always advocated is hoping to see him improve and still searching for QBs each year like Ron Wolf does. Bill Belichick flipped Cassel and can probably flip Graps this year if he wants to. I've always said Tanny is a solid starter and you keep those and see if you can't get the next Wilson, Brady, etc. Wilson, Cousins, Dak, all playing well, all had much later in the 3rd and on. If a qb that the staff is in love with falls to you in those later rounds you gotta take him. It'd be an even easier argument if we didn't trade away picks for Carroo. I know we get compensatories those rounds but it's easier to maneuver and spend resources knowing you have two picks in each of those two rounds. Tanny might be back for game one. He might not. And if he does come back is he effective? His mobility and athleticism is key for him. I hope to god we don't start next year with Moore at the helm. Find us a Dak!!!
There are a few of em who like to talk a whole lot. Yet the more they talk the more it becomes apparent that they don't know ****.
I just hope it isn't too serious and he can heal in time for camp. It will be important for him to have that time back on the field and gelling with his receivers and taking a few hits to get the "worry" out of his system. I pray it isn't any worse than a simple ACL tear.
Simple in this case defined as an ACL tear that happens to someone else, not us? Seems much less than what Bridgewater had happen to him, and I expect Tanny back (with a knee brace) for game one of the 2017 season. Of course, now the Tanny haters can add "Can't stay healthy!" to their arguments for getting this magical QB in the fourth round of the draft.
