You don't walk of the field on your own (limping or not) when you have a torn acl. When I saw him walking off on his own I knew it couldnt be that serios. Also if you saw the replay his knee never bent that much to warrant a tear.

Thank god it's not that serious. Overreaction by everybody involved.

Ronnie Brown walked off. He tore his ACL. Many guys walk off after tearing their ACL.

It wasn't an overreaction. It looked bad. Tannehill couldn't get up for the first time ever. Then he came back to the sidelines in street clothes and started crying. Once I saw that I knew it was bad news.

It's a blessing it wasn't as bad as feared, and we're all very thankful for that, but I don't agree that it was an overreaction at all. It didn't look good.

Robert Marve actually finished a whole season at Purdue after tearing his ACL for the THIRD time during the second game of the season against Notre Dame in 2012. Of course Tannehill could walk off the field if he were to tear his ACL (knock on wood)

You can absolutely walk after tearing your ACL. Happened to my best friend in high school. It is definitely a better sign that it might not be too bad than him having to be carted off though

I knew this thread was not that serious. You don't have a great thread with a title like that. When I saw saw the title I knew it couldnt be that 'serios'. Also if you saw the title it never seemed well informed enough to warrant a thread.

Thank god this thread is over. Relief for everybody involved.

Adrian Peterson jogged off also after his torn ACL....this thread is unnecessary back patting. You literally didn't "know" anything.

I walked around for three months with a full ACL and MCL with a medial meniscus. Lateral stability is an issue, but you can walk around pain free save for some instances of instability (which are painful).

If you must know WHY I didn't seek any care, it was because I was in school and didn't 'have time' or money for any major injury.

I jogged, golfed, picked up kayaks, etc., with that injury. It was only when those instances of instability came about (which felt like a baseball bat to the knee) with increased frequency did I seek the advice of an orthopod.

But yeah, you can walk around pain free with a torn ACL (and maybe an MCL in my case) as long as you can maintain relative stability. I likely added to the injury with my extracurricular activities, but the pain only happened to me while walking (specifically walking around on the course). My girlfriend at the time thought I was BSing her because I would just fall to the ground and grab my knee. Just thinking about it makes my knee hurt!

Personally, I think the key to this thread is the comment "Overreaction by everbody involved" for many reasons.

    Know what I'm saying?

I love how everyone is a dr. The injury is so common, everyone had their opinion. The Best was when he was being consoled by his teammates, so it was automatically assumed without an MRI that he was out for the year and having to have surgery
