Something to think about besides Losing Tannehill today. Pats & Ravens, Big game tonight. And next week the Pats go to Denver who has a rough slate to finish the season.

The case to root for NE: along with Denver, the Ravens/steelers are the biggest threat to the 6 seed. We need them to lose. A pats win puts them in the driver seat for Homefield, and keeps Miami in the 6 seed. If this happens, you're rooting for them to beat Denver next week too. That takes care of the Broncos, who still face KC & OAK. If that happens, the phins are probably in with 10 wins! As a bonus, the closer NE gets to HF, the less inclined they'll be to fight a hostile Team in Miami wk. 17. They'll welcome us into the playoffs to block a serious contender!

The case to root for BAL, then DEN: with a win Tonite, The Ravens can drag the steelers into the wildcard situation as they fight for the North. Miami's Wildcard hopes would take a hit. 10 wins won't cut it. However, this would give the patriots 3 losses, going into Denver next week. Assuming Miami beats the Jets Saturday, you're going to root for Denver here to put the AFC East within reach for the phins with two to play ! Should NE happen to lose both of these tough games, Miami would control it's own destiny for the AFC East and perhaps even the #2 seed ! Whhaaat?

I think it's better to root for whatever helps us get in with the fewest number of wins. So I'm rooting for NE.

You need Baltimore to win the AFC North now. The Dolphins have the tie-breaker against the Steelers.

Why the long face, it makes perfect sense, as I laid out. If New England keeps winning we probably need to only win 2/3 and they'll be laying down week 17 for us. That's the easy path.

And just because we beat PIT but Not BAL, it doesnt mean we should want Baltimore to win and stay alive. Much easier if they're out of it and not worry about any AFCNorth teams, than to fight with both until the end, hoping for a head to head tiebreaker, when it's likely more than two 2nd place teams would finish with ten wins in this scenario.

Not really. If NE wins tonight, Ravens have 6 losses and their head to head with us is irrelevant if we win out.

That Brady is SUCH a product of a system and his career hs been defined by cheating. How else can his ball placement be so good?

Said no one ever. But thanks for trying to rewrite what the argument actually is.

I think one of them will take the division with 10 wins and the other will have 9...they both have tough games ahead and neither is dominant at this point.

Pretend I made a broad statement like that about the Ryan debates. Then, you would probably "like" the post.

Are we in preschool now? Who in here was "debating" about Tom Brady? You're making up stuff for the hell of it

just hope the pats have locked up the #1 seed already come week 17 when we play them if matt moores the qb

that team runs so many fire zones and different zone looks at you matt moore will be tossing that pill into coverage

Baltimore losing jimmy smith is huge for their corner play. drops that d a notch

the pats did what Miami really couldn't with reshad jones out in that they put a safety on dennis pitta and shut him down

Tom Brady has been scrutinized and picked apart by the same few posters who have spent countless hours apologizing for every bad game Ryan has had in 5 years. Maybe you haven't seen the constant nit picking and ridiculous (but funny) criticizing of Brady, Wilson Luck Matt Ryan etc etc .

Which is fine those guys have their flaws like every other quarterback, and if people want to point those out that's fair but when you can't handle any criticism of Ryan Tannehill after dissong all the other stuff out? Then yes I will make fun of you.

Do you think it's worth a gamble to play RT in week 17 if he says he can go? Or in a playoff game if we make it?. I'm not so sure it's worth the gamble. Rather have him ready to go in 2017

I will default to the medical staff on that. he's going for a 2nd opinion today let's hope nothing changes. but I will say that ryan tannehill is not an athlete that happens to play qb but a qb that happens to be an athlete and so to me unlike an rg3 or even a Russell Wilson who are highly primary and take off with it types not having his top shelf legs isn't the biggest deal. he is a pocket progression qb which has more shelf life in these type of injury scenarios where you wonder if guys will ever athletically get back to top form again.

that's one of the reasons I have been so high on this qb thru these 5 years. he makes excellent pre snap reads and decisions with the football. and he's a pocket progression even if you were to take away my legs I can beat you from the pocket making reads qb. of course all the boot leg and throws on the hoof that he is excellent at both with placement and velocity etc are great and we don't want to lose them but I don't think wearing a brace is gonna change anything here regarding his long term future.

as for playing tannehill my personal opinion outside of the medical side is if he's cleared and he says he can go he should go. he gives you your best chance to win. but don't risk his future either. gase will be smart. we are well coached on both sides of the ball we just need some offseason personnel upgrades mainly at seam tight end and weakside backer and better lb depth plus a young de with pass rush win tools on the edge vs tackles as wake insurance.

oh and a slot corner upgrade. lol can't forget that.

x howard looks the part of a future #1 corner. he's outstanding in off coverage and the best looking rookie corner I have seen all year. assuming he gets back to form of what I saw earlier this season. he is the goods
