The Sat evening forecast for the Jets Game looks miserable so far.
Snowfall possible in the early morning hours but turning to rain later on.
So it looks like a cold, wet game, no snow.

last time we played this team leonard Williams wrecked whoever was across from him for 3 quarters and their strong safety calvin pryor played like reshad jones tone setter wise

I feel much better about playing against petty instead of Fitzpatrick with anything on the line

this is a game where usually the team with something to play for grinds out a win when the opposition at times beats itself and falters and in fighting kicks in but you aren't usually playing with your backup qb in those scenarios cause you aren't playing for anything usually if you are running out your backup over an extended period of time

For what its worth, two of the games that Matt Moore started for the Fins in 2011 were in cold weather. Ironically, those were also coached by now Jets HC Todd Bowles, BTW.

In Week 15, we beat Buffalo 30-23, on a 31 degree day, which felt 22 with wind chill and snow. Moore was 10-20, 217 yards, 2TD and 0 int. The team won largely on the back of Reggie Bush, who ran for 203 yards, including a 76 yard TD. Moore was scattershot, and got a lot of his yards on a few big plays, including a 65 yard TD by Brandon Marshall.

In Week 16, we lost to New England 24-27, on a 30 degree day that felt 23 with the wind chill, and was dry. Moore again completed exactly half of his passes (16/32) for 281, 3 TD and 1 INT, and Miami held a 17-0 halftime lead, before some very questionable officiating allowed the Patriots to score 27 unanswered points before Miami scored a late, mostly meaningless TD with about a minute left.

So, what does that tell us? Well, five years ago, when he was used to being a regular QB, Moore still struggled with accuracy in the cold and wind. I would imagine that he'll have trouble on Saturday as well, when you factor in the rain. His tendancy then was to go after the big play, at the expense of being safer and moving the chains, even though the running game worked both weeks, totaling 373 yards and 4 TDs. I'm hoping that the game plan and execution under Gase is smarter and more efficient, and the Fins are able to hold onto the ball more than they did back in those days.

    Fingers crossed.

This guy acts like Moore slept with his momma... Pure blind hate!

Moore averages less than 1 int per start..... On terrible teams.

I'll be there all day, tailgate starts at 3:00, the weather at the moment, which means not much, says precip will be mostly in the morning and after midnight, we will be prepared for rain though.

The last time I was there for a Fins game was in 2013 when we beat them 23-3, so I'm hoping for another beat down.

Last time I went to a game there was 2007 we lost 31-28. Ronnie Brown had 3 total TDs, but Kerry Washington had a huge 98 yard KO return for a TD. Stupid Chad Pennington had a 2 yard qb draw that I called before it happened, and did this horrenddddddous high step celebration that made me want him dead. However, he was our savior the next year little did we know haha. That was our 1-15 season, so I hope we have better success Sat night for sure!!!

Matt Moore here doing his preparations...

Can't tell if he's practising to lean on someone so he doesn't slip in the wet or he's preparing for a butt fumble.

Chad Pennington wasn't a part of the 1-15 team, he signed very late in the offseaon in 2008. We actually were expected to start McCown that season until the whole Favre coming out of retirement thing happened, which landed us Pennington after the Jets cut him after signing Favre.

that's great news...means even if he's spot duty boundary depth I don't have to worry about bobby McCain should we get a boundary injury butchering the slot AND the boundary

If he plays the whole game, it could certainly happen. Maybe even a pick-6.

Miami needs this type of game... We need a grimy, grind it out type game because we have to do it all over again against a superior Bills team that may or may not have a mathematical chance to make the playoffs when we play them.

Time for our defense to shine.

I think that you're totally correct in everything that you say, but man, it would be nice if next season, we could win a few games by larger margins and have some fun. These ugly, tight games by the seat of our pants every week are killing me.

I have zero doubt that the Dolphins were aided by bad weather against the Cardinals. Once the weather cleared they were scoring at will against our defense. Our secondary is so bad that guys get open in 2.3 seconds and the QB can just fire at will at wide open receivers.

I don't know how tough bad weather will be on our offense, but we know how tough good weather is on our defense. TOUGH!

I also know that as soon as you say "we have to play mistake-free, yadda yadda" we start turning it over and making dumb mistakes. You almost never see a team play well when facing a superior opponent, or under duress. They get uptight, jittery, nervous, and mistakes flow like water.
Miami might as well play like they are the ones playing with 'house money'. There is no 'perfect game' to try and achieve.
Go For It on every play. I hope Gase is preaching this. Have fun. Play the game you've been playing for the last 10 years of your life or longer.
Just do your best on every play to honor your assignment, do your job, play through the whistle, and no matter what happens on that play, just line up for the next play and do your best until the whistle sounds.
Miami is still just awful holding a lead because they totally seem to forget what I just said. You can see guys 'thinking' out there, playing nervous trying to 'hold a lead'. They need to try and score every time they have the ball. If it's going well then try and put 60 on the board. Every play is a scoring opportunity. That's the only way to win. By now, you either have the fundamentals down or you need a new job.
If you have to think about 'protecting the ball', you won't protect the ball.
You can't fake being good enough to win. You can't hide your flaws, you just have to hope that your virtue exceeds your vice. If it does, you win, if it doesn't, you lose and you just try again next year.

The forecast is slowly improving for the game. Now, 1-3 inches of snow projected in the morning...but only a 70% chance of precipitation (was 100% yesterday, and temps in the 30s) and temps in the 40s around game time.

The defense started playing differently late in the game. Before our DB's were up tight on the WR's and pressing more. Late in the game and on the start of the first Cardinals score the DB's backed off about 7 yards. When I saw that I said, the Cardinals are going to score here.
