With Howard healthy, Lippett and McCain playing everydown...we have very young and very good nucleus of players. I liked Lafayette Pitts coming out of Pitt, so if he can play, we'll have four young CBs. And the Safeties are playing ok, and we are without one of our top 3 talents on defense with RJ out.

I hope that we can upgrade the LB spot next year the way we have with the CBs this year. We have to re-sign Kiko and Jelani (if we want him back), but we need an influx of talent at the position.

Of course, it all starts on the DLine and getting that pressure. Wake, Suh, and Branch have been ridiculous. I think Jordan Phillips has outstanding at times--needs to be a tad more consistent.

Next year, I think we'll be without Byron Maxwell, Earl Mitchell, Koa Misi, and Mario Williams. Those players alone will save us 22 million in 2017 cap space. We have to make a decision on Pouncey and Branden Albert. While they are excellent, they are both injury prone and together represent another savings of over 11 million dollars.

We are going to need the money. We have to extend Jarvis, make a decision on Stills (I'd be fine letting him walk if we were getting ANYTHING at all from Parker, but we aren't. I do think Leonte Carroo is going to be a baller for us, he just needs to learn some of the nuances of playing WR in the NFL. Training another offseason with Jarvis will do wonders for his ability and his attitude.) Kiko's contract is up, as is Andre Branch's. That's three priority players and one GREAT luxury.

Plus, we (like every other team) have a dozen or so second tier players that need to be signed.

Of course, Dion Jordan represents another 3+ million in cap savings if we jettison him. If we need that money to keep Branch or Alonzo, I'd drop DJ in a heartbeat.

This has been a great season...first winning season in years. Next week we can nearly assure ourselves of a playoff berth. If we are able to beat Buffalo, then we can hopefully have Tannehill back after the NE game. Ten wins will be a great accomplishmen--playoffs or not. Expectations are sky high in Miami.

I really don't understand the people who seem content with letting Stills sign elsewhere after this season. He is the one deep threat on this team who consistently gets behind the defense. Letting your one deep threat go and keeping WR's who are predominantly possession type receivers makes little sense.

I realize he has dropped a few passes this year but every WR in the NFL drops an easy throw on occasion. Personally I think signing Stills should be a priority as soon as the season ends.

I do agree the biggest need on this team is on defense, especially at the LB position. Yet with the inability of Pouncey to overcome his numerous hip injuries, I think finding a long term replacement
at center also needs to be a priority in the off season.

As far as Tannehill returning for the playoffs. If his ACL was actually separated from the bone as was reported during the game last night, there is no way he will be able return for the playoffs. I think we just have to see how far this team can go with Moore the rest of this season and hope Tannehill is ready to go once the 2017 regular season begins.

Stills is much more important with Moore as QB.

Stills has been a game changer for us this year. He is a threat on every single play and that keeps a D honest. If I had seen more out of Parker, I might be ok with that. For the right price, I bring back Stills.

Completely agree with OP on LB. I say we resign Alonso and let Jenkins walk. I think LB, TE and OL will be top priority in the draft.

I'd like to see us draft a G in the 2-4 round range and a C in the middle of the draft. We have to develop talent to replace Pouncey and Albert although I don't know the timing of that. I wouldn't mind bringing in a veteran Guard to compete and hopefully help move Tunsil to T.

I really don't understand the logic behind this statement. Because Stills only had one catch yesterday with Moore as the QB and he had 34 receptions with Tannehill as the starting QB.

Tannehill also seems to have a excellent rapport with Stills when it comes to connecting on the deep ball.

I can understand letting Stills walk if he wants a lot of money to remain with the Dolphins and another team is willing to sign him to a big contract. Yet if they do lose him in free agency, they are then going to have to find another WR who can run past the secondary of the opposition.

The remaining receivers on the roster at this time just don't have the deep speed that Stills does. He may not have the catches Landry has, but with him in the lineup, opposing secondaries always have to be wary of his speed.

I don't think we cut Mitchell or Maxwell. Both are solid vets that we still need and have more than enough cap space. Stills should be re-signed and Landry extended. Cutting Mario and Misi would pretty much set them two up, with a little extra thrown in, unless they are asking for way too much. Go re-sign Branch as well and Rambo to reasonable contracts. Bring Jordan to camp to see what he has and sign and draft Des and LBs early in the 2017 draft. Sign a vet RG and a better backup Center. Keep Albert at LT, Tunsil at LG, hope Pouncey can get fixed, new RG, James at RT. We really aren't that far away.

I agree with a lot of this post except re: Rambo and Branch. I don't really think we need either of them. Keep in mind there was a Reshad Jones holdout last training camp, he's one of the best safeties in the league and wants a new contract that reflects that. Now, with him being injured this year, there may not be a holdout next offseason. It should be something they're prepared for though.
