    Per the Sun Sentinel:

"A sprain could be a completely torn anything," Tannehill said. "It’s not completely all the way off but definitely [off the bone]."

Tannehill than said of his MCL injury, "It’s categorized as a Grade II so there’s some integrity left."

According to the UCSF Medical Center, a Grade II MCL injury usually takes 2-4 weeks to heal completely. We might get our quarterback back just in time for this Super Bowl run.:dolphin:

It is great news, but RG3 comes to mind, and Moore having a good game really makes me feel like we shouldn't rush it with Tannehill. I might be saying something different if Moore had been horrible, but he wasn't.

I pretty much feel the same way, i want him fully healed and ready for next year. I don't want to risk it and end up like you said with a RGIII situation.

Why would we risk this in any way, shape or form. Gase has sat players all year and never rushed anyone back. We are reaping that with X Factor now

I agree...no need to push anything...let that thing COMPLETELY heal before even thinking about playing.

    This news just feels good.

I feel almost as good as that one tiger on the day he finally got to meet Cameron Wake.

We're gunna need him for week 17 and beyond. thank god this is awesome news.
Although I probably wouldnt put him in unless everyones sure he's 90-100%.
Moore wont get away with some of the things he did last night against teams who havent mentally started their off season

Therein lies the problem. If Matt Moore had played terrible, there would be nothing for Tannehill to come back to. The only way Tannehill has the time to heal up completely is if Moore continues to play well. In which case, we need to hope he comes back 100% healthy, otherwise a healthy Matt Moore might be the better option. It will be a tough decision if it comes down to it, but I have confidence in Gase to make the right call.

Honestly, the reports from last night from Florio and others was that the ACL is partially torn, and the MCL is completely of the bone. Reconstructive surgery may still need to happen.

They should just put him on IR and ride the wave with Matt Moore.

Agree at this point, get him the surgery and lets roll with Matt Moore for the remaining games.

i think the dolphins disputed that the acl or mcl tore off the bone. even if its just a mcl 2 i dont see how he could come back prior to the divisional playoffs. i went through a mcl 2 sprain and i wasn't walking right for a full month. 2 weeks sounds impossible to me. there just wont be enough stability or strength in the knee

Shoot it up and wrap it in a brace! Should be able to go against New England!

    Florio.

If he's right about this, he should mark it down on the calendar cause it will be the first time.

It's all speculation at this point, folks; but we know 2 things:

    1) Tannehill doesn't speak a ton to the media; but when he does, he's honest. If he's saying that he's hoping to play again this season, it's backed by good information, i.e. his MCL isn't completely detached.

    2) Gase has managed the roster relatively well all year long. Right now, Ryan's taking up a roster spot. That's not a small thing. If he didn't have a realistic shot at playing again, he'd be IR'd. Every roster spot counts.

I think there's about a 40% chance we see RT again this year; and if so, it's in the 1st round of the playoffs. Miami's not going to risk Tanny's long-term health, in my opinion. But, like everyone else, that's me speculating.

Yeah i think when that hard cast comes off and im guessing it comes off in a week the team will get a better picture at whether tannehill can play again this season
