The other evidence is the fact that he isn't starting. That no team is offering him a starting quarterback's salary. Unless you believe he is willing to both be a backup in Miami and lose out on at least $4 million dollars to stay in Miami. *Probably closer to 8 to 10 million dollars.
That game went according to script for Moore's needs, which was comprised primarily of a scoreboard that never made the Dolphins' offense have to be imbalanced toward the passing game. Three factors were responsible for that in my view: 1) the ineptitude of the Jets' offense, 2) the Dolphins' defensive effort, and 3) the special teams touchdown at a critical juncture in the game. The question is, will these next couple games unfold according to that script, or will Matt Moore have to take on the task of winning a game with his arm. That's when this situation could turn ugly, because Moore is far more likely to make mistakes when an opposing team knows he has to pass the ball. Obviously the big worry will be when the Dolphins face New England, because Tom Brady is likely to be the antithesis of Bryce Petty, and the Dolphins' defense hasn't proven it can stop such a QB. In that game Suh and Wake and company will really need to put the responsibility on themselves for winning the game, and clamp down on Brady accordingly. The problem there is that teams have shown they can move the ball at will with a quick passing game that neutralizes the Dolphins' pass rush, and New England is especially good at executing that sort of gameplan.
and I say with confidence that it silly to think Moore would turn down an opportunity to be a starter with more than triple the amount of money. That goes against his competitive nature.
Feel free to go back to my OP and show which things were over the top- especially since each and every one of them happened last night. Or maybe you'd rather look at when I said our 1-4 team would win six straight, or when I said we'd be in the middle of the playoff conversation a month ago. Has anyone here been more right than I've been in 2016? Nope. Have I been bragging about that? Nope. Yet we still seem to be having these conversations about how wrong I am all the time, when history clearly paints a different picture.
The topic is IF MATT MOORE IS GOOD ENOUGH TO START, not if someone will pay him X to start. Matt is good enough to start on a few teams, he isnt going to play lights out every game like last night...but he also made plays in his first game back you dont see many Qbs make.
Things a bit over the top?. Dolphins have a better chance with Moore over these three games... Moore could start for a number of teams in the league. ..the coaches don't generally like it but Moore wins more than he loses....thinks like that key. What happens if Moore plays poorly next week?, does that mean you are wrong then? And thanks for not bragging about bragging , then bragging about it. One game does not make you right or wrong, which seems more important to you right now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
A QB he supports just looked outstanding on the road in December in a crucial game vs our division rival all while his fav team WON. Id say it's all good from his POV. Instead of being happy about the situation, we have people upset that he is happy...and the reason they are upset is because our backup QB balled. Why can't we all be happy?
Tom Savage has just replaced Brock Osweiler in HOU, how much better would that team be with a Matt Moore?
Fin O, we are all happy and you know it. We all were rooting for Moore last night and you know it. You like to pop into threads and stir the pot and you know it. Nobody is upset with Key fin because Moore played well and he likes him and you know it. People have taken exception that he thinks people are hating on Moore and him,and that's not the case, and you know it. Peddle the nonsense to someone else. I've said nothing against Moore and the only thing I questioned Key on was being a bit over the top. Spin away and generalize some more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Do me a favor and quote someone who is upset that he is happy. I'll wait. At most people are upset about him saying we should be apologizing to him, which is a ****ing joke as even you know
I know I saw people saying our season is over before this game. I believe a select individuals knew we would be fine because of seeing what Moore did for our 2011 season
Just stop. Note the same people (including yourself) who are taking his comments out of context and have contributed to this thread in a negative fashion...they are the same guy's who have fought for Ryan Tannehill if anyone suggested his socks were sweaty. We have people calling his TD throws unimpressive, claiming the reason he played well was because it was the Jets..the same folks who blamed the sun before Ryan are now trying to credit the sun for Moore throwing 4 Tds. It is an indictment on these posters for how terrible they are. How many wish he wouldve bombed to prove a point? It is pathetic we have posters like that. Instead of appreciating we have a Matt Moore, lets just "say" we are happy then follow up his 4 td game with stupid comments. BE HAPPY.
Matt moores a career back up and always made career back up money as a free agent for a reason and thats not gonna change with adam gase Nor should it Im glad to be 9 and 5 and glad we have a veteran option as plan b who has been in the building since camp even but the rest of this season is window dressing if we dont get our franchise qb back I guess i should state that it depends on what meets your expectations...for what i see miami with a healthy tannehill could probably go on the road and get a wild card win...without him i see us as very one and done
I am happy my friend. Key asked me what comments he made that I thought were a bit over the top. I guess that means out of context. Some people( yourself included) have tried to dismiss any thought of outside factors that affected our QB. I've said nothing against Matt Moore, but continue to generalize and lump together... the same way you rail about people generalizing bout you. Works both ways. The only negative comments in this thread came from Key being offended by people's reaction to his post. Now I'm gonna watch more football today and enjoy our win yesterday, no matter how many times people say how unhappy most of us are BE HAPPY BTW, if you really think there were people that hoped Moore bombed to prove a point, your clueless Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If we end up in a game where we are chasing the scoreboard hes gonna throw 5 picks so be ready for it Will that be at buffalo or vs new england or in the wild card game i dont know but if we do he will Gase is not gonna be able to hide that Every time we get a non regular offensive td either from specials or the defense it drops the matt moore exposure to be the reason you lost
this thread is unreal. anyways good job moore and lets hope you have some more of that magic next weeek. i'll be eating buffalo burgers all week
Go Pats. Phins up! Don't mean it to get so heated, my apologies. This really is a great time to be a phin fan. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If Moore continues to play well, do you play Tannehill 20 million to play? Did you see any difference in the offense last night?
also I recall Tannehill making a very similar throw a few weeks back and it WAS something to write home about lol.
I do think they pay him 25, and I think Gase and the Dolphins do also. I love how Moore played last night, just don't think it's sustainable. That was his best game ever. .. would love to have him prove me wrong and keep it up . I really didn't see a huge difference in the offense last night, might be easier to see one over a few games. Props to you in your confidence in Moore Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I complimented Tannehill then as I am Moore right now, I don't know what you're trying to say. I was defending Moore, it was a great throw.
if that is true, why bring someone back for 20 million when you can get same or equal play for much much less?
I am agreeing with you. Just pointing out how when Tannehill made the throw it was great by some people. Moore made the same throw and it was nothing to write home about by the some people.
They likely did gameplan to stop the run and make Moore beat them, but at no point in the game was the scoreboard such that the Jets knew the Dolphins would have to pass the ball on offense. That'll be the issue going forward. Will the Dolphins be able to keep the scoreboard such that opposing defenses have to play honest against their run game, which will make Moore more effective. This is how the Chiefs win with Alex Smith in a game manager role. Their defense keeps the game close, which lets Smith function as a game manager and not the game-winner he's incapable of being.
They were nothing to write home about when he did them too. that's why I said I expect qbs to make those throws. normally they are dropped. great play by sims. good scramble and throw by moore.
No, no we weren't. We're talking a Who knows? Who cares? If we offered them their choice of Tannehill or Moore, who do you think they'd take? Tannehill. And that's the point.
This kid is awesome. He beats that drum until it falls apart. He can't be serious. Tannehill is a lifetime better than Moore. This dude is a joke.
WTF are you talking about?? Do you think I'm arguing Moore vs Tannehill? Ofcourse they would take Ryan? Where do you come ups with this poop?
The truth is that these tannehill lovers will disappear the same way the henne lovers did. Same exact thing.
