That's funny...I remember a certain poster claiming that there was maybe only one team that would go after Tannehill if we let him go...but there are 6-7 teams that would take Moore? I think he's right, there are teams that Moore could start on, just as there are teams that would love to have Tannehill. I'm glad we have a quality guy as backup. I should say, I wasn't glad about carrying his salary, but being in the playoff hunt, I'm glad to have him.
The guy stepped to the line four different time, identified the blitz and threw a TD pass. I don't know who that reminds you of, but it's definitely not Gus Ferotte.
Yeah, I know. I don't necessarily disagree with it. I disagreed with Greg saying only like one team would want Tannehill.
Browns Jets Texans Toronto Argonauts Orlando Predators FAU Fighting Owls Wellington High School Wolverines
My opinion Moore could start on Jets Bills Browns Texans Jags 49ers This is giving some young guys the benefit of the doubt (Goff, Wentz, Barkley etc.) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What do you mean by "could start"? IMO, starter is a person who can person who is going into the offseason as the starter, get through the offseason as a starter and then start on all 16 games. IMO, he might be able to start on the Jets, however, chances are he loses to Fitzpatrick. Jets could have signed Moore last offseason. He could not start for the Bills because they have Taylor. Browns have both RGIII and Josh McCown. Josh McCown is their Matt Moore. He probably wouldn't have made the Texans as they really like Savage. Jags would be funny because Chad Henne is their back up, someone who he already lost the starting position too. Chad Henne is their Matt Moore. 49ers? He would be behind both Gabbert and Colin. He would not have made the team. All these teams had a chance to pick up Moore. None of them thought he was good enough to even look at.
Lots of teams would want Tannehill. How many would pay a ransom for him is different. Teams that wouldn't trade 1(s) for Tanny would be at least ... Patriots. Pitts. Indy. Oakland. Ten. Tampa. Atl. Dallas. N.O. Balt. NYG. San Diego. Minny. Phila. Cincy Maybe some more but I'm on my thinking chair and I'm done.
Yeah, I'm not talking about teams trading a 1 for him, just talking about if Tannehill was on the open market. I think they'd be quite a few teams who would be making offers to him.
he could start on some teams but they'd look to replace him in the draft the very next season they wouldn't be satisfied let me put it that way stop gap stuff...bridge the gap type
I'm sure that the Browns would give up their #1 pick of this years draft for Tannehill. The Browns are desperate and there are hardly any QBs in this draft. However, I wouldn't trade Tannehill for just 1 draft pick; I would want at least 3 lol. The Browns only hope is the FA for a QB. RG3 is horrible and McClown needs to retire.
Lol there is absolutely no way the browns trade the number 1 for tannehill. Dolphins fans view on tannehill is a lot rosier than people who are objective.
Tannehill will be on the roster next season. Moore will be as well. So it really doesn't matter who would pay what for each of them.
Lol, they probably would. They aren't very smart. I feel sorry for any QB that is picked up by them....it is a career ender.
OMG please tell me this is true. Tell me that the guy some of our typical Tannehaters have been agreeing with is a Jets Troll. I mean don't get me wrong, i know that won't make our guys see how crazy they've been (cause these are the same people that doubled down on their hate AFTER he was playing at an elite level, after all), but still it will be delicious.
If it is im out of here You see that eli pick tonight...thats lack of eye discipline in his drop...malcolm jenkins sitting on his eyes Really need the d to step us saturday to limit the qb exposure
I've thought all of it's been hysterical....a few random posters show up complimenting Tannehill and you have long-time members lining up to give them a handjob. It doesn't get any more obvious or pathetic. After all, brand new members show up all the time and starting flaming people for no reason. That's completely normal.
If one of those new members you're talking about is Hoops, he has a long history of analyzing football, that many of us know about prior to his posting on this board. He's a good dude and we're lucky to have him, IMO. He's not another alias of some old poster that had to leave for various reasons, usually bad, or some other team's troll showing up to stir up ****.
I don't like Hoops pays because he's pro Tannehill, I like his posts because he seems to know what he's talking about, and is dropping good information. Hoops, it would be a shame if you stopped posting because of a Jets troll.
Clyde Christensen clearly believes in MM8. http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nfl/miami-dolphins/article122252494.html
The irony is none of us can talk/analyze football the way he does - as he clearly has experience in ways we don't when you see how he describes plays. That also means there is no way for most of us to verify if what he's saying is legit or not for a lot of the stuff.
The real story of how Moore came back to the Dolphins (not the made up ones commonly thrown around here): http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/armando-salguero/article121789578.html Other notables in there: "Moore was blitzed on 14 of 19 drop backs. All four of his touchdowns came on plays where Moore was being blitzed. Although his touchdowns throws went up, his completion percentage fell from 75 percent when not blitzed to 64.3 percent when blitzed." "Dolphin receivers did well adjusting Moore. Moore's average time to throw the ball was 2.51 seconds compared to Tannehill's season average of 2.62 seconds. This is important. Moore did not hold the ball despite trying to get throws down the field." "(Salguero: I’m told the experiment of moving Kraig Urbik into the starting lineup was a success. It seems the Dolphins were not happy with the calls coming from the center spot under Anthony Steen the past few weeks. Everyone showed patience for a while because Steen is playing center for the first time, but after an especially bad outing against Arizona, coaches decided on the more experienced Urbik as the starter. And there was improvement. So I would expect Urbik to continue being Miami’s starting center.)"
Yeah, forgive me for liking posts that show an understanding of the game, vs posts that show zero knowledge. Just because others don't have that knowledge doesn't make that a knock on him. Perhaps people should read his posts, and perhaps reevaluate their own position. As to what Christensen had to say, I would hope he's confident in Moore. But, days before the biggest game of Moore's career, and the Dolphins season, do you think he's gonna come out and say anything different? I'm not saying he's not being honest, but I've seen plenty of people on here disregard Gase's compliments of Tannehill as "coach speak."
You may like them, but again based on conversations within this forum he sees/speaks of football in entirely different ways than you. You're taking his word for it because he appears to know his ****. Not saying he doesn't - but I was illustrating there's no way for commoners to know the difference for the most part. Stop it with that. It's one thing to show support, it's another to be entirely effusive in the process. Not all comments about Tanny have been refuted as coach speak - as most of us have been around for a while and can tell when one of them is speaking in generalities.
jets did moore a favor by bitzing at that high clip Saturday...I bet ya new England if we are playing for something throws fire zones and drop out and underneath read his eyes zones on him buffalo should too given there will be no real running game with no threat of the qb run in the zone read...play a lot of zone...that's what I would do...but buffalo likes it's dbs a lot so maybe they get greedy make him dink and dunk it down the field...sit on his eyes...they tell the tale
I actually agree with this - especially in NE's case. They're going to drop 7-8 back and attempt to cloud his field vision. They frustrate a lot of QB's that way. Does Rex like to call exotic pass defenses like that? I can't remember - but then again he's the same guy who frustrated Mario Williams by asking him to drop back to play the pass.
the other reason the jets blitzed so much? trying to give petty short fields to work with to put some points on the board and when they did blitz Miami caught them in max/heavy protects so we could make them pay tyrods not a great pocket qb by any means but what he can do is extend plays with his legs and use them in the run game...they rarely throw timing route stuff from the pocket outside of stop routes or back foot hits and deep shots which he throws a good ball on most of what he does isn't timing based at all...major weakness is pure pocket play...take away his primary post snap and you can get him to hold the ball... I think they are gonna run the ball at a pretty good clip...nickel or base...our guys better be on their run fits...don't blow assignments...this is a heavy misdirection and all kinds of different looks formation wise run team...that's been a big problem for Miami as the lb level takes bait way too easy on the backside and the de's lose contain and please start Hewitt as the nickel backer opposite kiko... watch out for the flats dump wr on the boundary vs zone...it's tyrods security blanket if he doesn't like his first read and usually gets them an easy 8 yards...they don't even have the wr run a route he just floats to the boundary and presents his numbers as the dump
