I dont know if Karolyi is right or not, but between his crying and now his wife crying about judges delaying one of the chicks from going and that perhaps throwing her off, they're both making the Americans look like a bunch of cry-babies. We lost, just stfu about it.

Yes. But unless we send Regan on an undercover mission there's no way to prove it.

Too risky. I say we shave Lucky's mustache, put him in peasant clothing, clothespins on both eyes and send him in.

Just because you're Chinese, doesn't make you an expert. Hilariously, the two girls that people are squaking about being underage aren't even the ones whose ages are being questioned by some circumstantial NYT evidence.

The bottom of bottom lines is as Tony Kornheiser said on PTI; if America had won then this isn't an issue. They were outstanding but not outstanding enough and all of a sudden it's an issue based on some circumstantial evidence.

Euro athletes are such POS, especially the basketball players.

Definition of floppers, man. I just hate to see it. It's pretty pathetic.

Federer has really been struggling since about 6 weeks before Wimbledon.

Still can't see anyone but Rafa Nadal winning this.

    Wade=MVP

and if the Heat can put together a top 5 seed team, he will have a shot at the NBA MVP.

His working with Kobe Bryant on his defense is paying off huge.

Did I read the box score right, 6 steals? Amazing. Would've liked to see him do a little better at the stripe though. 4 of 9 ain't gonna get 'er done.

Yes, he was all over the floor defensively. On that note, I've got to tip the hat to LeBron James and the tremendous job he's done defensively as well. Couple of incredible blocks.

EDIT: Wade needs to show up early to USA's next practice and shoot 100 free throws.

Those involved have been PM'd. Next time it's formal.

Thanks and enjoy the Olympics. :)

    Somebody make a GIF!

EDIT: Can't believe Kobe missed the second one. D Wade is easily the greatest at those lobs. He's so precise.

Awesome win by Team USA and great teamwork by Bryant and Wade on the defensive end. Coach K put those two in a crucial test and they stood up to the task. It may just be me but it looks like Kobe's finger is giving him some problems. Looks like he's just trying to hide the pain. Really hope he gets the surgery done immediately after the Olympics.

So if I were to show you a 16-18 year old girl with a 13 year old girl of your ethnicity, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference? Hell, even my pro-Chinese relatives know they're underage even when they're celebrating the win. And growing up here, I can tell our team and other teams were 16 and up. Even the Chinese press is bringing the issue up themselves. If someone digs a little deeper, I think they'll find the evidence because it's almost inherent to any Chinese.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/be...lug=ap-gym--underagechinese&prov=ap&type=lgns

I still think even if someone, doesn't even have to be America, won, you would still see this issue being brought up. Hopefully it either ends in the abolishing of the age requirement or at least lead to better investigation and verification of the athlete's ages.

I know rules are rules, etc, etc, but a part of me is even more impressed if these Chinese gymnasts are below the age of 16 (12, 13, 14???), and doing the skills they are doing, under that pressure and scrutiny, etc.

    Just saying....

I know there are a couple of American gymnasts who are underage that likewise face the same pressure and scrutiny and also have possibly better skills than our current roster. I'm not taking away from what the Chinese gymnasts have done, just saying too.

can't blame her for what her country promotes.

i'm fairly prejudiced against the chinese anyway. we made some "shakers' for china(they test the reliability of electrical boxes before they're put on an airline).after the purchas thet asked for people to go over to china to set em up, they asked me but i said no. a friend of mine went, he called me long distance several times and you could hear somebody listening in. he'd turn his pictures in for development and wouldn't get some of the negatives back. twice the local police stopped him and took the film out of his camera. there were places he wasn't allowed to go. the public restrooms are just a hole in the ground with a screen around it.

I don't want to start a debate regarding the policies of the Chinese Govt. as this is not the correct forum, but did anyone see that commercial where the American tourist taps the Chinese officer on the shoulder and asks for directions? (believe it was a pen commericial)

My uncle works for the US Govt. and has told me stories about his time there. Maybe things have changed as this was 10 years ago, but I can't imagine a Chinese Officer being that accomodating towards an American from the things he's told me...

There's image and then there's reality. I didn't exactly feel that welcome when I went there and I'm Chinese. But it was 4-5 years ago and things may have changed. Certainly with more westerners doing business than ever before, they may be more welcoming. And more so for these Olympics I'm guessing.

May be true. Could depend on a lot of things really. I'm no fan of the Chinese government that's for sure.

Anyone else a fan of Beach Volleyball?

It's all I care to watch.

Phelp's run is obviously amazing but if I have to see another swimming match I'll never go in a pool again.

We've got arguably the 2 strongest teams in the world in Mens and Womens Beach with Rogers/Dalhausser and Walsh/May.
