    just curious you do know Tannehill has 12 int's right? Moore has a 3 to 1 ratio right now, way better then Tannehill had this season.

    They are very different, but the play calling against the Bills seemed the same.

    Just curious, you do know that Tannehill's interception rate plummeted once the whole offense gelled, right? Tannehill's td to int radio during the win streak was very good.

    Wonder what Moore would have looked like during the first 5 games.

    So CAL
    ya maybe your right, making 1.25 mill less a yr than brady and 8 mill less guaranteed is not ungodly for a guy who hasn't even won/played in a playoff game. I would love to sell you anything your looking to purchase if you think RT contract isn't ungodly. you must think Cutler is worth his contract too, you may even have a jamarcus russel poster on your wall. RT for not doing really anything in his time at Miami except this yr in 5 yrs is ungodly for 18 mill a yr. Derek carr is a starter this is his third year and he's prolly making 2 mill a yr. and had a way better season until the joe theisman, in his third year than any of RT yrs including this one. Even crab legs jamies Winston is playing at a higher level then RT!!! in his second yr. than RT in his 5th lol. Moore isn't a starter so that is irrelevant, that's like saying if grandma had balls she would be grandpa. of course he would make more money being a starter all im saying is RT for his production his contract is asinine.

    And if he comes back for the division round and loses I can already hear your excuse it wasn't his fault because he came back too early

    You should really understand how the NFL contracts/salaries work before you make these claims. lol

    RT's average salary guaranteed, per year, is $5.3 mil
    Tom Brady's is nearly 3x that at $14 mil.
    Luck = $9.5
    Goff= $6.9
    Wentz= $6.6
    Mariota= $6
    Bortles= $5.1

    Your post's snarkiness really makes it look bad after this reality check, huh? lol

    He is also roughly 4 years older and still throws picks that make u shake ur head like the one at the end of the half in Buffalo. Look I like Moore, as a player and as a person, but he simply doesn't have the God given talent that tannehill possesses. And with Moore being about 4 years older as well, it would be insane for the fins to move on from Tanny because of moore. Tanny isn't perfect, but he's good enough to win with and build around, which is why I expect him to remain in Miami for a very, very long time. And if he gets healthy for the playoffs watch out, this team is a legit threat with Tanny at the helm. Even if only at 85 to 90%, he's still better than Matt Moore, hopefully he comes back.

    Who cares what anybody thinks really, the reality is tannehill will be back next year and since we're in the playoffs we probably won't draft a qb until round 4, at the earliest. Tanny is the qb of the Dolphins going forward, all those that have been saying he sucks all this time don't really know what they're talking about. Gase seems to know a thing or 2 about football and he seems to like the guy, that's all that really matters at the end of the day.

    based on what exactly? You do know he was drafted by I believe the Angels as a SS right?

    "Tanny isn't perfect, but he's good enough to win with and build around," The same could be said for Moore , because the Dolphins ARE winning with him.

    I feel totally opposite of them being a threat with Tannehill at the helm, not sure how you can justify that expression at all.

    not at all, if you read you see guaranteed money is what you are talking about, if he plays like SH!T for 2 more years he makes 19+ mill a yr. with guaranteed money included. guaranteed money only accounts for what Miami is on the hook for if he's traded/let go hurt etc. What Im clearly saying is if he continues to play mediocre you gave a mediocre qb 11 mill this yr!!! and what about 20 mill next yr more than breese and rothlisberger and about 80% of the league? that's why athletes want the guaranteed money so if they are let go or traded.

    you really put 3 fresh drafted 1 & 2 qb's in the discussion of guaranteed money goff, wentz, mariota are all fresh as top 2 picks when the guaranteed money is high, tannehill was an 8th pick 5 yrs ago. zeke elliots contract is 6 mill a yr for 4 yrs hes 24 mill guaranteed as the 4th pick. guaranteed money put the teams on the hook. jay cutlers guaranteed is 5 mill too but he makes like 18 a yr would you not consider that to be an asinine contract or price for cutler for this yr or any other yr?

    Forget Tanny and Moore for a second. I think the "hypothetical" scenario being scratched at here is if you have another QB on the roster who can start and you're not seeing a drop in overall team performance - is it better to use the money elsewhere? Again, just a hypothetical.

    For me personally, I'm tabling any talk about who should start next year. It's not a kosher topic as far as I'm concerned. Seems entirely ridiculous to be having while we're on this great run.

    Apparently you need something explained to you because 6 TD's to 2 INT IS a better ratio then 19TD's to 11 INT.

    I agree, but some are scared of what if Moore does play great.

    I would think most teams and GM's would say QB A costs us 20 million. QB B costs us 5 million and the end results are pretty equal..... lets keep B. Miami might be the only team that says lets keep A,

    Sadly 25, then you don't know what int % is.. you are trying too hard. Take your own advice and sit back and enjoy the ride. You are trying so hard to make this more than it is , it looks silly. If Gase thought Moore gave this team a better chance to win, he would start him. Period. Any other reason is being foolish and blind to what is really going on. Root for Moore like 99% of us fans are doing. Stop trying to make it something it is not.

    Look, Moore is what he is, a veteran backup, who is capable of playing well in short spurts. Depending on him to play at a high level for an entire season is risky at best.

    I hope Moore comes out and throws 50 passes with 50 completions, 500 yards and 7 TD's against the Pats.

    However, even if he does that, he won't be the Dolphins starter.

    LOL @ assuming MM signs a contract to be the franchise guy, for $5M... You can NOT get a franchise QB, aside from a rookie contract, for anywhere in the same universe as $5M...disingenuous argument. Hell, Osweiler got $18M per year! Schitzpatrick got $12M.

    clearly you don't if tannehill goes 8-8 next year with these same stats you pay 20 million for that end of discussion!!!!

    when im sure there are other qb's you can get to go 8 and 8 and have money left over is all im saying. 20 mill for him playing all next yr he better take us to the afc ship!!!

    Well away from here
    I love how people criticize someone's use of stats when in fact they don't have a clue about the stat.

    How to prove you're an idiot in two easy steps: type then hit "post reply".

    Seriously? If you don't know what you're talking about then how about just shut the **** up and learn first. Then speak.

    Well.. since no one is taking the extra few seconds to explain it.. INT% is defined as INT's divided by passing attempts multiplied by 100 (to make it a percentage). Same with TD% = TD's divided by passing attempts times 100.

    You're talking about TD:INT ratio, which btw is highly correlated with wins (no surprise eh? I mean it includes points scored!!) so it's worth mentioning.. actually worth mentioning more than TD% or INT% alone, but on that measure both Tannehill and Moore are on the lower range of "average" over their careers.

    During Tannehill's years (2012-2016) average TD:INT ratio has been between 1.6-1.9 and his career TD:INT ratio is 1.6, so on the lower end of "average". During Moore's years (mostly 2007-2011) average TD:INT ratio was around 1.35-1.5 and Moore's career TD:INT ratio is 1.3, so also on the lower end of "average". So neither is impressive.

    Moore's 6 TD to 2 INT's this year is impressive IF it continues, but it's too small a sample size right now. I mean Tannehill's had 5 TD's to 1 INT's over a consecutive pair of games too this year (Rams and 49ers). So let's see what Moore can do in the future with that stat. As I showed with passer rating in another thread though, you should probably have 150+ pass attempts first before comparing.

    just curious if you actually watch the games or just look at stats after. If you watch the game, then you know any pass over 10 yards by matt moore can easily be intercepted by a competent defender.

    You certainly cover all the bases.... From "Moore is better suited for this team", to "protecting the asset that is Tannehill". I don't understand the logic that you suggest...... I.e. Protecting a less than 100% Tannehill until we're losing a Playoff game and then throwing him in for fodder because you thought he was the most able all along.
