this is pathetic if hanley doesn't score from 3rd.....0 outs......2-3-4 batters............in the 8th down 1........absolutley disgusting baseball
That was one of the worst display of baseball I have ever seen...they made up for it last night. Hanley hit a three run HR to take the lead 4-3 and that's all the Marlins needed to get the W
Calm down. Hanley will be hanley we just need the other guys to step up alittle bit. Its funny that pitching starts to get better and the bats disappear
The bats were destined to disappear at some point. This has been a very schizophrenic team on offense; either everyone hits a home run or everyone strikes out.
They will come back too though. Thats why the Manny trade would have been good for us this year. He hits day in and day out, we need a guy like that in the lineup.
Actually we need Hanley to NOT BE Hanley with RISP. His RISP average is around .170 and that is not acceptable for someone with a $ 70 million contract. I'm afraid we are done for the year unless we sweep the Cubs. This would make the 3rd year in a row that terrible August/Septembers have sunk us. I'm actually believing now that we just cannot win with these guys, and they have given all they can, but ultimately, they just aren't winners. I won't actually be sorry to see a lot of them go before arbitration.
Actually though, I do admire the Angels and their organization. They pitch and play defense, and have a stacked minor league organization, and will be a force in the AL for a number of years to come.
hermida.......0 for his last 16..... how many fastballs down the middle was he gunna get?? I don't care about "potential"......jeremy hermida asolutley sucks right now.......i would be thrilled if he was traded tomorrow.....im sick of zero production in the 2 hole......hanley is walking like crazy lately cuz he has no protection behind him.......
Boik, that scummy Mutts fan, has a thread on how Bud Selig vetoed the Manny Ramirez trade. Talk about a double-whammy tonight.
I've decided that Mr. Hermida shall now be known as Jeremy K. Hermida. I'm with SickFinFan, done with this guy. At this point I don't even care if he goes somewhere else and turns into what we hoped he would.
after the terrible loss last night..... the fish designated justin miller for assigment.....and called paul loduca from AAA...... Hopefully a change of scenery for the old man will be benifical!
He leads the majors in blown saves.... You realize if he does his job this year, we would be in 1st place by 3 games
Hermida is a huge bust. PERIOD ! He was taken with the 11th pick in the 2002 draft. You realize we could have taken : 13th pick - Khalil Greene, all star SS for the Padres (and a native of Key West) 15th pick - Scott Kazmir, stud pitcher for Tampa Bay 16th pick - Nick Swisher, at this point has twice the HR's that Hermida has (97 to 42) 17th pick - Cole Hamels, stud pitcher for the Phillies 23rd pick - Jeff Francouer, stud outfielder for the Braves, and foundation for the next generation 25th pick - Matt Cain, stud pitcher for the Giants I too am tired of hearing about this guys potential. He's been a huge, injury prone BEE-YOU-EST-TEE !
Meh. I cant argue for Hermida anymore. He needs to get his crap together. Though, there is no way I would take Khalil Green or Jeff Francuer over Hermida.
Francuer was actually sent down this year and has been worse than Hermida and Green is average at best with no potential to get better. I'd take the others though.
The stupid thing about Hermida is that he came on very well this time last year. Now he's just unreliable. I think the Marlins have the same problem as the Dolphins: solid at the bottom, boom-or-bust at the top. And the defense!
This was an awesomely fun ride while it lasted. This regression to the mean came 12 weeks later than I expected. Bring on Maybin and Raynor.
I'm not ready to write us off yet. It's very tempting to, but not quite yet. We still play the Mutts and Philthies a few more times.
I'd still like to bring up Cam and Raynor. These guys are very advanced hitters and could contribute right away.
