But.....Gase did mention that Tannehill just needs one day of practice. Today he is out. Getting close. I just don't know how miracle of a knee he has if he can't practice on Wed

I have a feeling that Tannehill practices tomorrow. No reason to drag it along if he isn't very close.

If not, he should be ready for the Cowboys game.

My opinion is just that, and isn't worth anything medically, but this gait doesn't look smooth to me, even allowing for adjustment to the brace:

    He's not playing Sunday.

Remember he's a pretty mobile QB. Can he really be ready to have his full game in action? Plus, if he changes his game to pure pocket passing, how will he do? Especially since he gets hit a lot. Do we trust him to take a pounding?

I think for me the call here is just to let Tannehill rest.

    I honestly think so too.

Edit: Even if he never planned on playing RT, Gase is playing the smart hand and not leaning either way....even if Pitt has to take 2 hours out of their game day prep to emergency prepare for RT just in case, we're taking away from their MM preparation...they are two very diff QBs to prepare for, so any little thing will help.

If RT vs Not-RT could make enough difference to win the game, I'd be more up for the idea of letting RT try it out. But, with our holes on defense and offensive line, it's not worth it to risk the 2017 season right now. We are not the same team that beat Pittsburgh, in our building back in October. Even a totally healthy Dolphins team would face daunting prospects this weekend.

The knee brace may be set so he doesn't have complete range of motion with the knee. I can pretty much guarantee it still hurt like hell though. When I partially tore my MCL skiing, it was 6 weeks before I felt comfortable just walking without the brace but then again I'm not a cyborg.

No offense intended, but you weren't an elite athlete with access to some of the best sports medicine care either. So it's entirely possible that three weeks is enough for a guy like Tannehill.

With that said, I'm pretty sure that Moore will be the starter. Either guy is perfectly capable of handing off to Ajayi anyway, which is always the first game plan. So let's just hope it works and who's at QB isn't a glaring issue.

None taken. Until you've experienced a partial knee ligament tear, you have no idea what you're talking about.

I don't think is trying to fool anyone, by making Pitt prepare for both.

I am still "torn" about having a partially torn ACL, and having someone even consider to play

For what it's worth I fully tore my PCL and partially tore my ACL and played middle linebacker and full back after missing one game, played the rest of the year (7 games) with a force point hinge knee brace.

All the more impressive is that you did it in your 30s...

Less impressive is that it was flag football...

...and it was against 9 year olds.

I may be off, but I feel like Matt was handcuffed the last couple games by the push to get Ajayi going again. I hope Gase lets him get into his groove. I think we should still get Ajayi going, but you have to have more balance. I think that's why the Bills game was so close at times. And I think that's why we didn't keep closer to NE. Last week at NE I thought there was way to much dinking and dunking for the passing plays. Maybe that was part of the game plan or maybe the defensive rush was forcing the quick stuff for 1 - 3 yard gains? Can't put my finger on it, but something has been off with this offense since the Bills game. Just hope Matt is being allowed to take his shots down field when he feels it. We need the explosive plays if we want to compete. God I hope they are doing great homework and have a great game plan this week.

Getting Jay going opens up the passing game. I think this team starts with him 1st to see what the D is set up to do. The Pats were playing excellent coverages and that led to many of the release routes which are typically short being open. They tackled well so guys didn't get loose for RAC yards.

They still moved the chains though once they went hurry. I was actually very pleased with what I saw - it's just that Damien Williams took a big dump on the rally with his fumble.

Suffice to say though - if we need to get MM8 into rhythm, that is now one way to do it.

This guy was the team physician for the Chargers and he has a very good eye for determining the extent of an injury just by watching the tape. He has never been optimistic about Ryan's return.

I feel bad for Tannehill, after all the **** thrown at him about "never leading the Dolphins to the playoffs" just as he was doing just that gets hurt. I just want him ready and healthy for next year, with a year in the system, another year of filling holes on the team, and getting back our playmakers in 2017 he and the dolphins can hit the ground running.

Definitely a vote of confidence from Ja'Wuan James .....

DAVIE — Before the season, Sports Illustrated revealed its ranking of the 32 NFL backup quarterbacks.

    Matt Moore was 23rd.

    Absolutely ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculously underrated.

Matt Moore can win. Matt Moore is poised, confident and more-than-competent.

Matt Moore is much, much better than the average backup.

Among the quarterbacks ranked ahead of Moore: Kellen Clemens, Chad Henne, Derek Anderson and Geno Smith.

    Kellen Clemens! Geno Smith!

Would you rather have one of those quarterbacks starting on Sunday at Pittsburgh, in the Dolphins’ second playoff since January 13, 2002?

“I told Matt since my rookie year, I told him he was my favorite player,” Dolphins offfensive tackle Ja’Wuan James said this week. “The way he operates, the way he goes about himself when he wasn’t even a starter. Now he has a chance to start. To see the work he’s put in for years? It’s sad to see a teammate (Ryan Tannehill) go down but with how (Moore) was prepared and ready to go, I feel like he’s been no dropoff.”

The Dolphins players, publicly and privately, say they believe in Moore. They believe they have a legitimate chance to win on Sunday.

I'm all in on Moore. He will come up big tomorrow. If the D steps up I think he'll put us in a position late to pull this out. I think many of the guys in that locker room feel that MM has the grit to pull off a win on the road in Pittsburgh. He'll make enough big plays if he's allowed to let it rip. Can't go too conservative tomorrow.

Yeah, the return of the hurry up O, I speculated a couple weeks ago if we would see the return of the hurry up with MM, and there it was in the second half.

Gase scrapped that early in the season, because it was too much on RT's plate.

MM is our best chance imo.
