I would put him in one of the special teams slots in place of a player who's not likely on our team at this time.

Kind of a stupid question though- there's no guarantee that anyone on the fringes of being cut will make it through training camp.

Dion Jordan... man, if we had not traded for him, maybe that 12th pick is an LB and the second rounder is a DB who actually could have played Sunday.

Oh well. Hey Dion, don't ever wonder why we are ****ing annoyed with you. You created a nice talent hole in our roster. Though fans will never get to boo you you when you finally take the field because it seems unlikely you ever will.

I actually thought they had already cut him. It's time to move on.

The Dolphins have had several busts over the last 51 years, but there has never been a bigger bust than Jordan, when you consider what they gave up to draft him.

I think that considering he was the third overall pick in the draft and the first overall defensive player drafted, he will eventually go down as one of the biggest busts in the history of the NFL.

Unfortunately we have seen the real Dion Jordan. He is a player who got the big contract and never cared about becoming a quality NFL player. Instead, getting high and just being lazy was more important to him than using his athletic ability to become the best player he could be.

For two years all we read is that he wasn't being used properly by the coaching staff. Yet after a year away from the game and a new coaching staff, he returned to the team out of shape and injured.

Hopefully he grows up and learns to be a responsible adult. Because there are no big contracts in the real world for individuals who are lazy and prefer getting high over doing their job.

I have no doubts as to his physical ability. His mental acumen has me worried. He runs himself out of position and leaves giant holes in the defense regularly. I believe that's why pro coaches have had him playing DE not his college position of OLB where he could use his athleticism to cover his mental breakdowns.

When you look at his college highlights there are basically zero plays where he shows great block shedding techniques or the ability to diagnose a play and get into yhe right position. Its all body no brain. The same goes for his NFL highlights, running with TEs and WRs, but no sacks where he uses any kind of technique to beat a blocker.

Because Dion Jordan isn't a QB, he probably won't be considered a greater bust than the biggest busts at QB in NFL history. But just for kicks one could ask the question..

If Dion Jordan was a QB, would you consider him a greater bust than Jamarcus Russell or Ryan Leaf haha!

Right now I'm leaning towards saying DJ isn't quite in their league as busts because he did show some serious potential on several occasions in his rookie year. But I'm open to other views on this. Either way you're right about him being the biggest bust in Dolphins history.

I say goodbye and good riddance. I hope he gets his life figured out but I'm tired of hearing about him. He represents the end of a really bad era of Dolphins busts and poor trades.

Here's to hoping the Gase era builds and turns us into a contender.

I was a huge fan of him in college and when we drafted him I was elated, but I think he should have been cut after his last suspension. He isn't worth the headache of keeping around. All that talent and he just flushed it down the toilet.

What a total lack of information. He's having issues that may get him cut. WTF does that mean.

It seems a little more definitive than that (based on what people are writing):
    http://mia.247sports.com/Bolt/Report-Dolphins-will-cut-DE-Dion-Jordan-50395510

"Dion Jordan’s time with the Miami Dolphins appears to be over. According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, the organization intends to part ways with the defensive end during the forthcoming offseason."

Although I agree they don't tell you what the "issues" are.. if that's what you meant.

247 sports reports on the same report that Armondo reported on that has no information in it. So multiple people are reporting the same thing from the original report so it isn't multiple reports.

Yeah...I'm curious as to what his "off the field issues" are. If I had to guess, it's drugs, again. Regardless, he's a bust and getting rid of him is the right move.

Although, he'll probably get picked up by the Pats and become a HoF'er...

After watching his college tape, I was pretty shocked that anyone would have him rated in the 1st round, never mind at the top, I viewed him as a mid round pick.

He was never a good football player in college, he was just a very good athlete, and his stats showed that as well, and the same showed on an NFL field, and why wouldn't it.

He was a bust from jump street.

Same as Vernon Gholston. And I remember all the Jets fans moaning because we traded up and grabbed Dion Jordan before they could get him. Damn it would be fun to tease the jets fans about wasting picks on Gholston and Jordan.

And with no trade we could have sat still and drafted Sheldon Richardson

Yeah, he was Gholston all over again, and wouldn't it be nice to have Richardson, and possibly another player at the top of round 2.

You mean you found 33% of the game when he was even IN?

He was a situational player and a project and we traded a 1st and a 2nd for him.
