Just happened upon this guy. Don't know anything about him other than just looking at potential ILBs for '17 draft. Walker is his name. Anyone know anything about him? Size is 6'1" around 238. Personally, I like that sized ILB. Just from the little that I have seen, he's got speed. Can get away from O-lineman (doesn't get washed out). Sound in tackling (again, VERY little tape that I have watched....like 3 mins worth). Really just wanting to know more about the guy. Not really sure if he's coming out, etc. I have a feeling Miami goes this way via the draft. Just wondering about potential ILBs.
Don't know anything about him, either, but I am with you. I love the off-season almost as much as the regular season. I hope we can strike gold and build ourselves a contender.
Anthony Walker Jr is a play making baller and based on this feature about he & his dad, it seems he's smart(diagnosing plays at a very young age) and humble:
I've been yelling at the top of my lungs for years about how the franchise continues to ignore impact LBs. This off-season offers many options FAs & draft.
Yeah Colmax, Walker Jr did declare and he signed with Drew Rosenhaus. http://www.insidenu.com/2017/1/2/14...stern-wildcats-nfl-draftdrew-rosenhaus-client
So, I went to Ole Miss and was there when Patrick Willis attended. Funny thing, I'd see him on campus a lot when I'd head to the Biology building and he'd always give me a "what's up" like he knew me or something. Always thought to myself "I know YOU, but you sure as hell don't know me!" Anyway, the homer in me wanted Miami to draft him, and for good reason: we had an aging Zach Thomas and needed a LB in such a big way. That was the draft where we drafted the Ted Ginn family. Patrick has since retired, but during those 8 seasons, he had some of the finest LB play I've ever seen. No homer. I just hope he makes the Hall.
Draft mill said he flashed last year more than this year. He put on weight between those two seasons and it ended up making him a slower player. I have not personally watched him enough yet. There are a lot of intriguing 4-3 OLB options in the draft but not a whole lot of 4-3 ILB options, we may have to FA for that unless we're going to keep Kiko at MLB for next season too.
Okay, I'm officially in love with this kid: This is a long read, but a good one. This kid obviously has a good head on his shoulders. Smart. Has good ball skills having played wideout and safety. Detail-oriented. Can diagnose plays. A leader. I hate falling in love with these guys because I want them on Miami. Just a gut thing, but I think he could be a good one. Link: HERE
