ditto, I'm think 360 but to be honest, I'm only in it for the sports games. Which is better for those?

I like war games like Gears and Call of Duty, and of course sports.. I'm also looking at the blu ray player vrs general CD player? But then again 360 has the vision camera? Not sure how that works?

Well Gears of War is Xbox360 only and Blu-Ray is PS3 only and is probably the best player there is for that format. As for war games they should be pretty much even as well.

The Xbox360 has the more robust online experience but it will cost you whereas the PS3 has free online but is bare boned compared to Xbox Live. Now if all you care about is playing games online then the PS3 is the way to go but if you want everything the 360 is the better option. However with Playstation Home on the way the PS3's online experience is going to improve a lot and its well on its way of doing so.

Also know that the PS3 has built in wireless whereas the 360 doesn't but the 360 is cheaper so maybe that equals out (but remember you must still pay for Xbox Live).

The 360 and PS3 are both great consoles and hopefully my tips help you out.

360 all the way...I haven't regretted it at all since Ive gotten it. And I used to be a PS fan prior to my 360.

    You're just a sell out. :tongue2:

In all honesty I have swayed back and forth on getting a 360 but nothing can pull me over. Although I know its a great console so its strange but I've always been a person who picks a system and sticks with it otherwise I feel like I'm cheating. :wink2:

So I just pick my favorite.

Also I should point out that there will be an 80GB PS3 coming out at the end of this month for $399 which is a great deal IMO. Remember its a Blu-Ray player. :wink2:

Also for the 360 they are supposedly dropping their prices in September too:

The Arcade 360 with no hard drive: $199

    The Pro 360 60GB hard drive: $299

    The Elite 360 120GB hard drive: $399

Xbox360 is great Gears Of War is the best and Gears Of War 2 is coming out in November. The Online play is fantastic. I cant tell you about the PS3 beecause I dont have one. The Wii is cool but I dont recomending getting it before a PS3 or Xbox360

    It's all about the games.

Gears 2, Fable 2, Left 4 Dead (so excited for this game!) are 3 great exclusives coming out late fall/early winter for the 360 that should be loads of fun. Plus a huge back library.

PS3 is getting Little Big Planet (if you're into that kind of game), Motorstorm 2, Socom, and Resistance 2 around the same time. Plus, if you love sports games the MLB: The Show is amazingly good. Killzone 2 is coming in 09.

The PS3 is gaining momentum in a big way.

Although I've not experienced all of Xbox Live, so far it's good. I don't see why people attack PSN (not anyone here). PSN is very good for what it is and I've had no issues with it ever. Plus it's free.

Home is coming and Sony says it's more game oriented and less of a community type of deal.

At the end of the day, a 60gb 360 is going to be $300 and an 80gb PS3 is going to be $400.

    You can't lose either way.

My PS3 and Wii collect dust. When MGS came out, I played it till I beat it. I have Warhawk, Resistance, and GT Prologue... There's just no games.

All of the 3rd party stuff I have on 360. For the most part (since PS3 geta the port), the 360 version runs better too. 360 is my gaming machine. I have a PS3 and Wii for when certain stuff comes out. The PS3 is mostly a Blu-Ray player (Terminator 2 on Blu-Ray. WOOT!).

Well that is all according to what you like. For me the 360 has Halo and Gears 1/2 and that is it. I tend to agree with what Clark Kent said.

Halo and Fable are the reasons I got a 360 and I am very pleased.

However the Blu Ray player is something you can't beat.

You should also see what your friends have if you wanna play online with them.

Also keep in mind it will be another $50 on 360 to play online. It's free on PS3. So the cost of each consoles are pretty close when you factor everything in.

I have all 3, and while I play the ps3 more right now, the 360 and ps3 are about even IMO. I just have NCAA for ps3 and that is what I am playing most is all.

As far as games I like my PS3 more. I've played the 360 and honestly its a good console. However, I'm not JUST a gamer and I don't want my console to collect dust when I'm not playing games. My PS3 allows me to watch movies on it, install Linux on it, use it as a home theaters system. It seems I get more use out of my PS3 than anything. If you download movies and what not, just put them on your PS3 and you can watch them through your PS3 rather than burning to CD/DVD and all that crap. It encodes by itself. Or you can stream them off your laptop. Its more than just the games. Both 360 and PS3 have good games. 360 has A LOT and I mean A LOT of shooters. I'm not that big of a shooter fan so the PS3 tailors more to my liking.

i had 360 for a year and half now and a ps3 since june. i like the ps3 a lot better. ps3, after online, is the same price, if not cheaper, and the machine does a lot more.

the ps3 has caught up to the 360 and will pass it soon.

If you play online you need at least the premium(20gb HD). I think the regular shouldn't ever see the light of day, and if I could buy new I would get the elite (120gb HD). Then again I might just wait for the 60GB version to come out if I were you.

Plus if I were him I would get the PS3. :shifty:

Yes you have. Way to open a can of worms. :pity::up:

Honestly, unless you can't afford to pay every year/month for Live, want Blu-Ray capabilities, or want to be able to cheaply upgrade your hard drive, go with the 360. I would recommend the 60GB one (I have the Elite and I'm loving it but 60's a good value). I also have the 60GB PS3 and I love that one too especially with built-in Wi-Fi. I just don't have a Wii anymore since I sold it (looked horrible on my big screen, only had a few games interested in, and pretty much those were games I'd be playing with a neighbor who has a Wii anyways).

As an owner of a PS3 and 360.

    360

PS3 has pretty much turned into a glorified DVD player in this household that plays the very odd game. Where as the 360 is having me buy games at a 4 to 1 clip and is pretty much the home of shooters/sports and strangely enough RPG's.

I love my 360. Even if its my second one.

The wireless controls are nice, xbox live is great to have, I just mainly play sports games though. If you arent into getting a blue ray player... save your money and get a 360

I own both and I have about 2 vs 1 games in regards to 360 and PS3 (28 vs 15, but I also have like 30 ps2 games in addition to that).

I also have had the 360 a year longer than the ps3.

If you like movies as much as I do, I might lean towards the PS3, if you have a tv and sound system that can do it justice.

That's a myth that comes from way back when the PS3 launched. I looked into buying a 360 and it's not cheaper if you want one that's worth a crap.

And if you require wireless. The 120 foot ethernet cord pretty much is all I got or a laptop that likes to drop signals. The PS3's built in wireless, which is very reliable, is a boon.

Can't go wrong with either system. I say 360 because it is cheaper and the games really are great. PS3 has great games too.

If you like FPS more, go with 360. If you like RPG more, go with PS3.

You can also run wireless through your laptop I believe because Buckeye did that in a thread a while back. Plus you can always get a cheap gaming router.

So you can get around the 360 wireless problem for roughly the same as the 120 foot ethernet cord.

I am actually running it through a Macbook (I think I did mention laptop earlier and also advised in that very thread ). Still gets a lotta drops. More so than my PS3.
