Wake up! He never deserved a chance! http://nfltraderumors.co/dolphins-de-dion-jordan-issues-miami-expected-cut/
I'm not sure why you cut him before you have a chance to really evaluate his ability at full strength. Cutting him without knowing this just seems like biting your nose to spite your face. Isn't anyone else curious to know what this guy can do with good coaching? Seems like a future Patriot that will be planting Dolphin QBs in the ground in 2 years.
He's due $600k next season, so there is zero reason to cut him. I can see using him as trade-bait for moving up in the draft, but the Fins aren't just going to say goodbye when they could have done that weeks ago and brought in a defensive starter. This whole thing smells like BS- especially since there's no mention of Jordan in the source link to Armando's story.
$600k of free money for Jordan. I mean, good for him. Perfectly legal to cash a paycheck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm getting sick and tired of posts belittling fans that root for players on the Dolphins roster to succeed. I can't think of anything more inane.
Chances grow slimmer for Dion to even play in this league, let alone be a rotational guy let alone start let alone be anything above average let alone be a pro bowler. And th amount of dislike directed at him is because a prime asset (#3 overall pick) was used and the return has been nil, so people are disappointed... to put it mildly. The fact that it's a mental/emotional issue as much as anything elese (if not more) is harder for fans to accept than if he simply had bad knees.
Dumb article. WTF are 'Issues'?? LMAO. Miami has a dire need at the DE position so you don't toss out a young first round talent who never was evaluated at 100%. You let him heal up and put him through the offseason program/drills and then training camp to see what you got. For sure you add another body to the position because Jordan isn't a guarantee but if the light comes on for this guy again, what a huge GAIN!!!
I understand that position. We put a ton of resources into the kid trading up to get him etc, etc. So, yeah, I get that. However, at some point you've got to stop compensating this kid for no contributions to the team. Right now, it sounds like it's pretty obvious his focus isn't on caring about football. It doesn't seem like we're going to be able to fix that either. Sometimes, you just have to cut the cord. That's often when a player might turn his career around. It might take that for Dion to get on track, but unfortunately that doesn't help us, and that sucks. Giving him chance after chance only to have him mess it up again, and again makes it difficult to keep sinking resources into him. It's difficult though to keep paying the guy, for nothing. Assuming of course that he's still getting paid.
I'll speak for myself on this one. While I want every player to succeed they also have to want to succeed. Jordan has been sucking on the nipple and has not given us any reason to think he will do otherwise. Conversely, Ricky Williams gave everything and had some serious issues he played through.
I know what your saying. I'm very disappointed he hasn't been able to get it together too. I don't know the kid and I've never been on fire before so it's hard for me to be mad at someone struggling with his life. Personally, I was more upset he was drafted so high as an injured player.
Hello all, new guy to your forum, came from another one that decided to censure and remove any bad talk of Burke.... As far as Jordan, this could be the biggest draft bust in the history of the NFL... Why in God's green earth would you draft probably one of the best OLB and make him a DE, telling him and pressuring him to bulk up.... For years we've never covered a TE, this was the guy that could do it, but NO, we had to move up and take a player that wasn't intended to start at the position we drafted him at, idiots....I'm not sure all the PED's would have come into play had we let him play OLB That being said, we will probably let him go, hard choice, given that he's played very little for what we gave up, sad, this is one of the reasons we have been in the basement looking up so many years....
