Well a decent season ending in a playoff blow out. Vance Joseph takes the Denver HC job. Defense is a middle of the pack Defense at best. Offense is the same.

Could the addition of a QB like Tony Romo make a difference??

Romo would help the Broncos or the Texans a lot.

Miami would have to be willing to do two things, guess real wrong on Tannehill's injury and be limited even more on picks this draft. The lack of talent acquisition via the draft and I think a paradigm in thinking that FA is not sustainable to fix this team 100%, would cause us to pass on Romo. Very short term fix for a team with a ton of holes.

Houston would be a good fit potentially. A defense that is #1 and an offense that could go over the top, esp with Fuller, Hopkins and Miller

If Romo leaves Dallas he will end up in Denver.

I wouldn't count on Romo to make it through the coin toss without getting injured.

Romo would be a player to be traded to place a team over the top. Denver and Hot come to mind, however, if AlexSmith craps the bed, could be a good fir in KC with Charles back

You only trade for Romo if you believe that the rest of your team is ready to go deep in the playoffs. The Phins aren't equipped yet for a deep playoff run. Defense needs to be fixed first. Acquiring Romo would be a waste of resources.

I agree...we might as well call it Manning, part II. I bet he's only going to interview with Super Bowl contenders.

If I was KC I'd trade for him if I could fit him in cap wise. He's way better than Smith. Obviously he'd improve Denver and Houston too.

I'm astounded anyone is even considering trades for Romo. With his injury history he's a major, major risk. It doesn't matter how good he is if he can't stay on the field. And he isn't at the start of his career in the prime of his youth.

Anyone trading for Romo as a starting QB has to be desperate because you'll basically be filling up the single most important spot on your roster without being able to say he'll play for most of the season, if much at all.

The way it reads you would think Miami was coming off a 3-13 year. Did I dream that 10-6 season and playoff game?

Just say NO!!! #1 - we don't have the next Whitten to catch for him, #2 - he'd never last 6 games .... oh, and he's never risen to the occasion of the playoffs ... WHY?

Did you read that page's Dolphins summary?

"It’s becoming clear that Ryan Tannehill is not going to develop into the franchise quarterback the Dolphins wanted. While we still believe Miami will make a play for Jay Cutler if he becomes available next offseason, we’d be shocked if they did not at least entertain the idea of adding Romo for the 2017 season. Despite their struggles, the Dolphins do have a talented roster. With better quarterback play they could turn the corner and start to win some games."

1 - It's laughable that someone might look at Tannehill's health following one major injury and then think that Romo is a solution. Even in the absolute worse-case scenario where Tannehill has to have surgery Romo still isn't a solution because his physical condition is worse than Tannehill's. Romo has had numerous major injuries and surgeries. It simply doesn't make sense to say - we better move on from one QB because of injury and then select another QB who is physically worse. And that's before we remember Ryan's proven durability and toughness up to this point. Someone wants to move on from Ryan? Fine. They're going to pay the big bucks to Tony 'Please Don't Touch Him' Romo? Nah.

2 - It's becoming clear? Is it? When? Was this article written last year? Or the year before? How does Ryan's best year prove that he isn't becoming the QB the Dolphins wanted? Especially when it was a crappy injury that took him out of the back end of the season.

3 - Jay Cutler? What? Because if Tannehill isn't the franchise quarterback the Dolphins wanted, Cutler is?

4 - Turn the corner and start to win some games? You mean, like the first winning record in years, getting to the playoffs despite numerous injuries, including to Tannehill? That sort of corner?

Absolutely let's go grab the 36 year old who has started 4 games on the past two years. How much can we pump that cap hit up on one position?

I read somewhere that Denver is absolutely not interested, and that Romo could consider retirement.

If he can stomach it, backup QB might be the best option. He knows the Cowboys, a lot of fans like him, he'll still get paid, although maybe less, and his body can have a chance to fully recuperate. Plus, having Romo come off the bench would be huge. Best solution IMO.

Lets be honest here, this wasn't really a "sports journalist" writing this. It's just a blog really. Just someone's opinion. To me a journalist is someone actually doing some research and connecting with real sources for information to present in their writing. This just just some guys opinion. It's not different than reading takes on a message board like this. It's just... written and formatted better.

As for the notion of the Miami Dolphins trading for Tony Romo. It's just ridiculous. The only way that should be considered is if Tannehill ends up needing surgery, and is likely to miss most of the season. Even considering Romo in that spot is pushing it. This whole idea just screams like some stirring of the pot to me. There's far more of a case against Romo here, than there would be for him. You really don't need to look beyond his age, health, and contract to determine we wouldn't trade for him. Even if the team plans on moving on from Tannehill, which I doubt they do.

Yes. Remember the non catch by Dez?

This was the best team they assembled. Don't think for a second it was all Dak as impressive as he was. Romo is very good. He'd be considered elite if the team won more.

Why in Gods name would we sign an over the hill, never was, has been? Romo sucks to the highest level of sucktivity, always has always will.

I could see Romo going to SF. They're in such dire straits that he could help them in the short term while they rebuild

lol...Romo is, or was, an elite QB. The guy was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Saying that, I don't want him in Miami.

On its face...I wouldnt have an issue with that at all. But Romo would drastically have to alter his contract...his cap hit this year is 24 Million.
