http://www.upi.com/Sports_News/NFL/...ght-cut-Koa-Misi-save-millions/7371485205287/ One of those dilemmas could be if the team should hang onto strongside linebacker Koa Misi. Misi is due $4.2 million next season in the final year of his five-year contract. He played in just three games in 2016, due to a neck injury. The Dolphins sent Misi to injured reserve in October. He also spent time on I.R. in 2015, due to a back injury, and in 2011. "The former second-round pick has been too injury-prone over the years for Miami to continue to count on him as a starter," ESPN's James Walker wrote. Misi, 30, had 4.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries during his rookie campaign. He had a career-high 59 tackles in 2015. Misi has never started more than 14 games in a season.
For depth at vet minimum, it would be worth keeping him around. He has missed too many games to be a starter.
I think Misi would be great depth - probably can't be counted on to be healthy as a full-starter. Would like to see him in the black and gold, especially if we let Timmons walk.
Fun Fact* The draft for Misi, we passed on Earl Thomas to trade down.....we got Jared Odrick.....2nd round, we drafted Koa Misi.....a pick or so later, Rob Gronkowski was picked from Arizona. LOL we passed on opportunities to draft Earl Thomas and Gronk. Good times. * = not fun at all
That's the 2010 draft right? We got the elder Pouncey, Emmanuel Sanders, and Antonio Brown, good times. You guys could have also had Kam Chancellor instead of A.J. Edds, but made up for that with the Reshad Jones pick.
Me too. I remember my dream draft included Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, LeGarrette Blount, and Sam Shields. The rest of my picks didn't turn out to be anyone of note.
Will the Dolphins ever figure out how to draft LBers again? Without a doubt our biggest position weakness. Can't point to a LB on this roster that belongs as a starter.
