I thought Riley might sell one of the rental vets for a later pick or something, just a small deal. But JJ and Dion are playing so damn well that maybe they're in the long-term plans now. I dunno.

Either way, I just love when it's (again) made clear how competent and awesome this organization is. This season is yet another example, even after that rough start.

Riley doesn't want to mess with the karma of winning.

This team has won 14 of the last 16. I am entertained again. I'd love further entertainment.

Rockets up by 33 points thru 3 quarters against the Pelicans. I've seen enough. Lou Williams (27 points without even 1 team practice) is a perfect fit. Now, Morey is trying to bring in Bogut. I'm good with that as long as it doesn't cut into Montrezl's minutes. We could use more rebounding...last game against Heat proved that.

Nope. 14 of 16. They dropped two in a row when they broke the streak.

If I can correct you on a basketball stat, then you must be hung over.

So yea, Carmelo is like a man without a country out there. He's the only one looking focused in warm ups the only one trying to rally the troops (save Baker) Hornacek is a joke...teams a mess he and Melo argue a lot in timeouts, some of the lineup combos he throws in make no sense because they have so few scorers. Lebron just does what he wants when he wants on the court, Kyle Korver is an assassin even when he doesn't spot up.

Game turned out pretty much how I expected.

This team needs a defensive minded coach like a vampire needs blood. I mean it is just a necessity. Their problem is defense more then offense. They're actually getting worse as the years going on. Like I've been saying though, when we bench Rose, this team will be better defensively. At least Baker tries in defense. Same with Jennings even if he's dumb as a stump. Part of the problem is terrible defensive players. We also have bad defensive schemes. And then the players we do have either need to get stronger (KP, Kuz, and Willy), are undermined by crappy schemes (Lee, Holiday) or aren't consistent (O'Quinn, Melo, Baker, etc), I don't know what Phil was thinking with this crew.

Surprised he couldn't dump Rose for a few picks and expirings. Same with Jennings. I know he asked for a 1st on KOQ but I'm kinda glad they hung on to him since he cares and grew up a Knicks fan. The Clippers wanted Lee but had no 1st to give up so Phil did the right thing and hung on to him. Noah...he's just gotta go.

Of course, he's a 20 year old. Always happens with younger players as they usually need to get stronger especially when defending the post. The two big things to remember with Willy are simple....his understanding of how to play half court basketball offensively is excellent. He's got better footwork then many vets. Secondly, the player he is compared to is Marc Gasol who was a late bloomer on defense as well. Turns out physical maturity and strength have a lot to do with how effective post offense and defense can be.

KD called Shaq's comments "childish". Do you agree ? If so, maybe you're the one who should shut up. If not, you're deluded.

The Cabs did. You guys got Derron Williams. Nice pickup; that's the Lebron effect. Melo would be the icing on the championship cake.

Funny to me how most people want Cavs over GSW, when GSW was built more and Cavs were bought. It's 3 superstars vs 4, yet when it was the Heat's 3 superstars vs the Spurs 3/4, the entire nation wanted the Spurs.

Kevin Durant is a flat out *****. He just is. He loves to run his mouth, once calling Bosh a "fake tough guy", but Durant is the definition of that. He's a huge hypocrite as well. I really have little respect for the guy. Great player, but a *****. McGee is a bad player that earns the flak Shaq gave him early, and when McGee couldn't take the joke and shot back, obviously Shaq was just going to feed off of that.

They were the darlings of the media and fans until they broke the NBA record for wins and then added a top 2 or 3 player in basketball. Nobody roots for that....unless you hate the Cavs (which most here do) then it is irrelevant.

All agendas aside, I do not respect what Durant did from a competitive standpoint.

Imagine if Cleveland loses this year to the Warriors and then sign Anthony Davis the next offseason...it would be a joke.

I dont want neither the cavs or gsw, but the fact remains theyll both be in the Finals this year and possibly the next two years.. so it is what it is, fans are going to pick the team they hate the least.

This year if i dont see a different team in the Finals, im not watching. I dont care if it ends up Cavs vs Spurs or Golden State vs Boston, just give me a different match up to watch

You take this so seriously. It's just basketball. Maybe you should incorporate more than sports into your day. Become more well rounded and lighten up a bit.

Look at it from his perspective..when your team is garbage year in and year out (pelicans) you can't take sports seriously.

Lol well at least we played defense tonight. Melo had that last minute shot lined up but like a half dozen other shots he had tonight it was half way down and rimmed out. Open look too. But that's what happens with bad teams, you find ways to lose.

    The good news is:
Noah out for the year = more minutes for KP, Willy, and OQuinn
Jennings waived = More minutes for Baker aka the only PG we have that plays D
Recommitted to the triangle has lead to a lot of open looks for players like Holiday, Lee, Thomas, Melo etc.

The parallels between the Knicks franchise state and the Dolphins is uncanny. I feel like a Patriots fan of basketball with all the rings and constant contention.

Prediction - as long as Durant is back for the playoffs this might benefit the Warriors. He'll come back rested, the rest of the team will have given time and experience to their depth players, they'll have jelled more, and they're good enough to continue winning without Durant.

Talking point people will look at - if Durant is out for the rest of the regular season is this a chance for San Antonio to take the #1 spot?

Answer - not necessarily, because the Warriors aren't necessarily going to get any worse and Popovich is the sort to go all out for play-off positioning. However, if there is a drop off for the Warriors, a #2 spot might be inevitable.
