Good for him I guess someone will overpay him. Hes not the same player people remember been injury prone and wants way to much were good in Miami.
He is going to be very Motivated this season. Miami better fix the run defense, NE will get him at a bargain price Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Washed up stars rarely work out in New England. Plus he isn't going to go somewhere where he touches the ball 7-10 times a game.
Really? NE is filled with players like Long, Branch , Blount, and others who were "washed up." Ask Lippett how that concussion was Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't want to bet against him a season after an injury ended his season. These were the stats after he ended a season on IR: 2012 2,097 yards and 12TD's 2015 1,485 yards and 11 TD's Do I want him a year after an injury? You bet your *** I do
Jamaal Charles released as well. Ugh, where were these releases last year? Could have gambled on either of these guys instead of an old Arian Foster.
Yeah I don't know, I would rather continue to develop Drake and Ajayi. We aren't a tailback away from consistent super bowl or playoff appearances.
We aren't a lot of things away yet, so why would we devote cap space to one of our stronger and younger positions last year in lieu of devoting cap space to filling the other gaps in our team. It would make no sense.
To conclude he wants top dollar is ridiculous. He is not a $12M a year RB, he will earn between $6-$8M and it will be a one year-prove-me, backloaded deal, where a cut would not hurt the cap. The days of teams overpaying for players in their 30's , coming off injuries is over. Teams will backload deals and do one year deals
If the Dolphins even bring him in for a look I will boycott this season and not watch a single game. If they should be so foolish as to sign him I will dispose of all my Dolphin shwag and never again be a fan of this team. Ive been a fan for all 51 years, but it would all be over then. Busturd deserves to be imprisoned and hobbled.
By no means am I going to suggest we should sign AP or Charles, but it wouldn't be too far fetched to see us at least consider it. Of course we have Jay and he did a fine job last season, though it is only one season. Will he back it up with another big year? Or will he fall back to earth and produce 700-800 yard region? There's been many one year wonders, hopefully Jay doesn't join them. Now to get back to the AP/Charles issue, signing them wouldn't necessarily be the end of Jay seeing significant work. The Jaguars boasted a successful running game with Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew. The Panthers had two really good years out of DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart. That's two examples of two backs getting a workload and being successful. They were both run first teams with acceptable quarterback play. Now think about our current situation with Tannehill. He's not Rodgers or Brady. He's decent, but not elite. And generally Tannehill is at his best when the offense is balanced and our running game backs him up. If we boasted a one-two punch from our running game, that would take pressure off Tannehill having to go too pass happy and he doesn't have to force things. Like I said, I'm not saying we should sign AP or Charles, but the presence of another back to help Jay by keeping him fresh and healthy could be something Gase looks at for this coming season. That could be a current back on our roster getting more carries and opportunities, we might draft someone from a deep running back class, or we could take a punt on someone. All I'm saying is we are at our best with a strong running game, and while I'd love to see Jay get 20+ carries and be successful, we could go down the route of having a one-two punch.
There are a lot of good RBs in this draft class. Enough that we could get one with a 4th or 5th round pick that could contribute. I was watching combine yesterday and really liked D. Henderson, Jeremy Hill, Joe Williams and I can't remember his name this morning but number 26, all good mid round prospects I think. No need for old guys.
