    Ehhhhh...

The Eagles asking if Jarvis Landry is on the trade block does not equal Jarvis Landry on the trade block. I don't know anything about this reporter, I'd wait for someone with a more stalwart reputation confirms.

Actually, it kind of makes sense. We need a deep threag like stills to open up the passing game. Without stills stretching the defense jarvis wouldn't be as successful. We have a young leonte caroo who can play the slot in place of Landry, however we have nobody who can replace stills skillset.

Adam Gase has at least stated that he loves what Landry brings to the team with his passion and energy, and has stated he wouldn't want him to ever change the way he plays. All indications from Gase are that he supports Landry 110%, so I doubt he'd want to see him traded unless it's all been coach speak.

There could be a lot of things at play here. I'd think if there was thought by Miami of Landry being on the block, some of our reporters would have caught wind of it prior to a reporter out of... Philadelphia. A team who also just happens to be one that is rumored to be linked to Kenny Stills come free agency. I'd need a much more credible source than that to actually believe this report is true, but that's just me.

This report would be more believable to me if it said Devante Parker instead of Jarvis Landry.

Sure, I guess we could look at everything Gase has said as coachspeak at this point, but I don't think that's really been his style. The team definitely has a tough decision to make with Stills creeping towards free agency without a deal, and Landry needing an extension though.

Torry Smith is getting cut by SF. This could be a nice, cheaper alternative for a deep threat incase we lose Stills

Every player is on the trade block. If Philly offered us 3 firsts for Landry we'd take it.

The question is would Philly offer enough to make a trade worth it for the Dolphins. Since there is zero reason for the Phins to want to trade Landry (no age concerns, no injury conferns, no locker room concerns,no coaching concerns, no off field concerns, no younger/better plaer ready to replace him on our roster) the Eagles would have to pay full trade value plus a premium to get him from us. After their Carson Wentz trade I don't see the Eagles as having enough trade bait to get a deal done.

Jarvis Landry is not going anywhere many fans may tell you he might be the face of the team.

The only time this would make sense is if Landry's representatives are demanding star money for their client. I'm talking AJ Green ($15m) or Julio Jones ($14m) like money. At that point maybe our front office would not want to pay that much salary to Landry because they don't view him as an elite wide receiver. Sure he has a ton of receptions since coming into the league, he averages more than a thousand receiving yards per season, but he only accounts for a handful of TDs per season. As much as I like Landry, he's not in the same tier as AJ Green or Julio Jones. He's nearer Julian Edelman than those guys. That doesn't make him a bad player or someone we should want off our team, far from it. However, if his salary demands get too high it wouldn't surprise me if our front office decide to move on from him and pin their hopes on Stills and Parker being a more dynamic duo, or Parker and someone else if they don't manage to re-sign Stills.

That said, I would agree with you that trading Landry would not be a smart idea. I would be against it. So hopefully these rumors are meaningless and they get Landry signed to a new deal and Stills as well, because both are potentially big parts of this team's future going forwards.

Both AJ Green and Julio Jones could command at least $17 million a year if they were free agents today.

I wouldn't give Landry more than 10-11 mil per season. He has no speed and is not very big he is not an elite type who can dominate a game he is more of a tough scrapper.

Just for giggles, what would Philly have to offer to make this deal viable for the Phins.

Ordinarily I'd want a 1st and 2nd as a minimum for a player like Landry. But since the Eagles don't have a 1st this year due to the Wentz trade then my price would be their 2nd and 3rd this year and their 1st next year.

I would take a 2nd and a 4th this year and a 4th next year for Landry. Honestly, making Tannehill have to be more creative and actually find an open receiver vs throwing to Landry when he's covered (which he does) would be a good thing. I will say this issue was better in 2016. Tannehill would throw at Landry on every play if he could before last year.

That's called dependability, something Landry has in spades. I'm not going to argue that he should be the focal point of the offense, but I am going to argue against trading him away.

Trading block as in 2 teams inquired about Landry...

The team finally makes some headway in terms of actually being good and they want to trade away their best player for the last 3 seasons? I highly doubt this unless its a knockout deal.

I can't believe people actually still use these forums. Its been so long since I've checked in here...

The old Dolphins would have traded him to NE for a 2nd and 4th. They would turn those picks into guys who weren't on the team 3-4 years later and Landry would be setting reception and YAC records.

    This is the new Miami!

if we sat here with decent consistency from Parker, Stills and Carroo, we could actually have this conversation. however, stills needs to learn to play inside, Parker can't stay healthy and Carroo could be a mistake.
