are the Pros sold out everywhere? I HIGHLY recommend that thing. That is certainly the way to play Switch unless you have to.

They are sold out pretty much everywhere. Most brick and mortar stores are sold out, Amazon is sold out, Best Buy (and BBO) is sold out, Gamestop is sold out, Target is sold out... etc, etc

I finally found one at my local Walmart, of all places. Picked it up last night. It is very comfortable and Zelda plays much more smoothly with it. The drawback is that I have to be at the TV, when I'd prefer to prop the Switch up at my battlestation desk. But, oh well.

fun fact. The morning of the switch launch (bought via Amazon) I went to Walmart to buy some monster drinks for my desk. I had no desire to buy a Pro Controller. I never did with the Wii or Wii U. I didn't think I'd care. Walked by electronics and there was one sole Pro Controller. I knew i'd be in some long multi-houred Zelda sessions so I said screw it and bought it. That's how I ended up with one. Pure luck.

Now I can't imagine playing long term with the Grip.

You don't or didn't use the pro controller with the WiiU?

Didn't play enough Wii U to care. The game I played the most was Mario Maker. I bought it for Zelda... then Switch happened. Jokes on me I guess. Nintendo wins again.

The biggest benefit of the pro controller is the more comfortable grip, IMO. I can handle the DS sized buttons on the joycons, but the pro controller grip just really feels right. Helps make those long Zelda sessions more bearable.
