If the money is right (incentive based deal) I wouldnt mind trying him out at FS. But I dont think he has much gas left in the tank
He's already said himself that his body is breaking down. Add to it that he has no heart and what you have is a has been. He's washed up...
Agreed. He's not hungry anymore. Fires out. Browns will take him or something. Someone that's desperate. We're a playoff team, need hungry individuals that can add talent to the team.
You could be right, he seems motivated, he says he's working out hard, is down 10 lbs, and says he has something to prove, but betting on a 32 years old CB to regain his form is asking a lot, so the price is crucial. I wouldn't hate bringing him in to play FS, he CAN still be a top flight FS and if he was smart he would be looking to make that move, like Rod Woodson among many others have done, speed/quick twitch is the first thing to go. He COULD be an top FS for a few years, or a declining CB, even if he does have a bit of a resurgence this year he's still a declining CB. Imo, if he wants to cement a HoF career, he should make the move, because he has a much higher chance of multiple PBs and APs at FS than he does at CB, because you cant discount the impact that perception has as well. As a CB, even if he's playing decent, the general feeling you will get when watching him is that he is not what he used to be, and is a declining player, an overall negative feeling. However he would be "refreshed" with a move to FS, and if he plays well it is all positive success, the fact that he STILL IS a declining player is completely forgotten, because he's a good FS, again, like Woodson. Between the ages of 30-33, Rod had 1 PB as a declining CB at age 31, at age 34 he moved to FS, 4 PBs in a row and an AP to boot, the move rejuvenated his career and put him back in the spotlight as one of the best at his position. He says he will entertain that, he wants to play for the Steelers, and overall says he wants to go somewhere HE wants to go, where it's a good fit. I'd sign him as a FS.
