I forgot how horrible Joey Harrington was.

The Bears are who we thought they were.

Very clear memories of that game. The Bears were the hottest team in the league, we sucked, and Hester was tearing everyone apart as a returner. We shut Hester down and took it to them all day long. Turned the season around actually, until Ronnie Brown's hand was crushed between two helmets on Thanksgiving in Detroit.

I think you're confusing it with another year, we never reached .500 at any point of the season and only won 6 games.

Thats true. But we were some people's Super Bowl pick in the preseason (I believe SI). And starting with the Chicago game, we won 4 out of 5 games. They lost the last three after it came out that Saban was abandoning the team and going to Alabama. The team was never as bad as the 1-6 start, and had Cullpepper been able to play like an average NFL QB, should have won nine or ten games.

Yeah, I do remember the preseason hype, which I full on bought into, I thought Saban was going to be the real deal, and I think he would have if he stayed, but yeah I forgot about that PS hype, which is I guess what Travis was referring to.

I thought he was saying we became a SB pick on that 4 game win streak, I remember that season quite well, JT for DPoY became what that season was about, which helped lessen the overall disappointment of the season, JT was other worldly that year.
