I know there has been a ton of talk about the draft, but there are still some interesting vets out there that can help us. What are your thoughts on adding a few after the draft? This list is filled with mostly injury-prone, former stars. But if we can get a year-no injury from them, it could be a great stop-gap. For me, I believe Nick Mangold and Jared Odrick could be solid players for a year. I mentioned Revis, Charles and AP in the past, because I believe 2 of them will have a comeback year, but RB is not a need. I don't mind getting roasted for this because thosr bodies might be better than someone off the street, which we were relegated to last year.

I have a feeling they will watch who gets dropped after the draft and into training camp.

Right now they could really use a quality Guard/Safety/DE & DT. So if they don't drop down in the draft to pick up an extra 3rd then I'd bet they'll be looking for the position they don't take. Bad enough relying on a rookie 3rd rounder to come in and start, but you aren't expecting 5th rounders to do it.

Jairus Byrd might be worth a look. He was once regarded as one of the premier free safeties in the league, and he's only 30 (relatively young for a safety). If he can reclaim even half of the player he once was, it would provide an upgrade to our secondary. And if nothing else, he can push Nate Allen and Walt Aikens through training camp.

Byrd never even played at New Orleans did he? Just one year deals for any of these vets.

I want nothing to do with Revis or the child abuser. Odrick would be worth fair backup DE money, but he seems to be still looking to get paid.

Beyond that, remember that cap space isn't lost if its not used anymore. The team can roll everything over into 2018, when they could use it on better players.

I would just let it rollover at this point, there's only 10 mil left, and as of right now, there's only 24 mil in space for next year, which doesn't include draft picks for this or next year, so take off another 10 mil, that's 14 mil left to play with next year.

Including what we're goimg to need for the draft, we should have over 20m now that we cut Jordan, so we should have a net of somewhere between 15-18m that we coupd roll over.

He started 31 games from 2014-2016 for New Orleans. There are really two concerns with him: his play fell off a cliff since his Buffalo days, and his injury history is unfavorable. However, if we chalk up his injury history to a series of bad luck, his poor play can easily be attributed to the lack of talent around him.

To me, this has one-year deal written all over it, and the reward could be enormous if he pans out. I'm quite surprised he hasn't been picked up yet--he may be asking for too much money, I don't know.

According to spotrac we have just under 13 mil, and that doesn't include the emergency signings that will have to be made due to injury and whatnot.

You should have highlighted the next line over, 12.9 after draft w top 51.

I didn't highlight anything. That's directly from their site.

A this point, unless a guy is willing to sign a cap friendly deal, we should wait til after the draft and see what needs remain. For all we know, another top player slips down to us and changes the whole draft plan. A good problem to have.
