Like many of you, I've primarily focused on round one. I'm not steeped in enough knowledge on college football to know who would be a good target in round two and even round three. Who does everyone think would be a good target for us. I'm assuming we're not going to take Lamp in round one (just seems such a waste to go guard in round one). Let me know your thoughts and why. Hopefully some of can learn something about the potential players from the responses.
I can see three players: Raekwon McMillan Chris Wormley Budda Baker All because of a need on defense If Evan Engram was still on the board I would take a serious look.
Dion Dawkins G, Jordan Willis DE, Josh Jones S, Marcus Williams S, Reakwon McMillan LB, Dan Feeney G All these could be available at #54 and are acceptable picks to me. Sent from my F3111 using Tapatalk
This is one of the most interesting drafts that I can remember in recent history. This week, I have been working on my mock, and it has been a real challenge. I think that the discrepancy in big boards will be at an all-time high. I think that come Thursday, we are going to be shocked by the players that will be available on day 2. Some, with good reason, will argue to strike while the iron is hot and move up, and it will certainly be worth considering. I think we draft the best player available with preference given to the defense.
Read up on them all. After a quick glance it seems McMillan might be the best. Good at cleaning up and just a solid tackler with a good motor.
OG-Feeney/Dawkins/Johnson S/DB-Melinfonwu/Baker/Moreau/D.King/Jones DL-Harris/Willis/Basham LB-McMillan/J.Davis Bold are my choices assuming we go LB/DL/Howard @ 22
If Obi gets out of the first, and we have any chance of getting him with our #54, I'd be really surprised.
Because of his poor forty time, the best cover corner I've studied is Teez Tabor, if he slips to the third, he's a steal..so so good man..versatile as well, extremely sticky..
I think the key to knocking this draft out of the park is identifying where the value will be in the second and third in advance and setting yourself up to take advantage of it. There will be some real steals out there in both rounds of guys that you could argue are first round worthy. Hopefully we are in the position to snag them. Very exciting draft as for the most part the depth of talent matches our needs nicely (except maybe at the guard position.) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
pew pew. yup, IMHO Rivers is as close to a C.Wake clone as anyone I've seen since Cam entered the league.
That's what I see when he engages with a offensive tackle, those arms way above his head, full-body extension. It's a Cam Wake trademark and a sign of a good defensive end. Rivers absolutely screams off the edge and has ridiculous bend. He needs to work on disengaging blocks and he doesn't really flex an inside counter on his tape, but that's why I'm hoping he's available in the 2nd round. I think he's more a late 1st rounder, early 2nd rounder, so my first post was more of a pipe dream. If he was available at 54 I wouldn't even hesitate. He has the potential to be special.
Wishes??? LB LB and maybe LB. If no LBers are available then maybe LB or LB. And if not maybe OG or S. But the first three picks could go LB and I would be happy. Cuz we REALLY NEED LB'S Budda Baker may make it to second round pick, best LB available works for me.
