Ugh. I'm back to wanting Howard or Njoku. Someone that puts points on the board.

Yeah, really. Who wants players that keep opponents' points OFF the board?

McDowell plays high, but his short-area burst and violence are awesome. He's so raw though, it'll be up to the staff to coach him up. Sometimes he doesn't know what he's doing out there. He's only 20 years old. If he is drafted, I wouldn't be opposed to the Dolphins putting five guys on the LOS on obvious pass down with Phillips at the nose.

    ideal 5 tech...pass

flashes outside shoulder win but very inconsistent and very very raw with it...no real clue what he's doing in that much space...ideally lined up on the inside shoulder of the tackle

less projection safer bet given the physical tools and measurables

We need guys to come in and play right away especially with this pick. I don't care for this at all.

I don't think he's a scheme fit, we need a space eater DT, not another penetrator, with run D issues.

Scheme is penetration...montravius Adams fits the bill but hes probably gonna require your 54 pick

I'd go the veteran stop gap route post draft...maybe a senderick marks

We have Suh for that, we need a space eater next to him to free him up some more, which is why we drafted Phillips, because our run D is flat out awful.

I don't like him. I'd be disappointed in this selection. I don't see him translating well at this level, nor does it seem he has the attitude and desire to want to. Just a pick that wouldn't do much for me.

I'd rather go elsewhere in the first and take Naz later in the draft(as you can tell by my mock).
But he probably will be gone by the fifth rd.

Adams sucks. Would much prefer Mcdowell over him.

Stevie Tu'ikolovatu, probably the best space eater in the draft I think we can get him with one of our 5th round picks.

"inane"? Cmon now. McDowell is arguably one of the 5 most talented players in this draft. You not hearing about him is more of an indictment of your draft knowledge than it is McDowell's draft presence.

If Suh were able to take McDowell under his wing and he matures and dedicates himself to the game, Miami would have a nightmare combo in the middle.

we don't "have to have" a space eater next to Suh. Case in point: Aaron Donald is the complete opposite of a "space eater", and I guarantee you that if he were next to Suh, the middle of the defense would have no problems whatsoever. If the DT can get off his blocks, defeat his man, hold his own at the POA, disrupt the ground game via penetration, and push the pocket or pressure the QB on pass attempts, then he doesn't have to be a space eater. In a passing league, McDowell's potential shortcomings as a "non space eater" are more than atoned for by his tremendous backfield disruption ability.

McDowell is talented enough that he could command extra attention or at least divert some of the attention away from Suh w/o him being a space eater.

I don't think that's a fair analogy, you want to take the best DT in the NFL and compare him to a rookie that will never be as good, Donald doesn't = McDowell.

I doubt McDowell will draw X2's.

Again the scheme isnt space eater...its like calling for a 2 gap when miami doesnt employ one...and if they did this draft is not the place to get it

Adams doesnt have a lot of production which is a flag for sure but im not advocating for him in this draft where dt stinks almost if not more than ot and malik mcdowell isnt an ideal fit either

Now that we have the edge its time to get the nickel corner and interchangeable safety by end of day 2 with guard being more the wild card

I dont want cordeas hankerlsey at 54 i dont see the slot/nickel there nor do i see the value being top 50 but im sure that 4.41 helps...looks more boundary to me...where i think miami is ok

I love McDowell. If we would've taken him at 22, I would've been more than happy.
