Yes I said it. why? http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000808307/article/tom-brady-will-be-on-cover-of-madden-nfl-18 The Madden Curse will strike Brady as it does every year. This made my day!
Well, our odds of winning the AFCEast will go up once Brady goes down in week three due to the Madden curse! The only thing better would be a Patriot team photo as the Madden cover. Totally serious people!
Brady is so egotistical (rightfully so), he probably believes he can beat the jinx. Question is, will Charles harris be the one to separate his shoulder?
Lol did you not watch the first four weeks last year? The Patriots can put a broomstick at quarterback and still win.
In this article he actually says something like that. http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl...-on-madden-game-cover/ar-BBB3FpO?ocid=UE07DHP [Gronkowski's absence for half of the 2016 season could have given his quarterback pause about accepting the cover role. After all, there's talk of a Madden Curse. While pointing out that he works extra hard to keep fit - how many NFL players are in as good or better shape at age 39 as they were a decade ago? - Brady acknowledges that he's heard about the curse. ''I am not sure it's supposedly that there is a curse, I think there is a curse,'' he said. ''I've been able to overcome a lot of things in my life, and now we've really got to step up our game.'']
Did anyone see the commercial yet? He's walking under ladders and breaking mirrors saying "see, no curse!" Now I'm not a big believer in superstition, but you won't catch me doing stuff like that on purpose! Goes against self preservation rule number 3, "nothing GOOD can happen for me, not gonna do it. Wouldn't be prudent, not at this juncture!"
I thought the curse died a few years ago when a string of players had great years. Brees, AP, Calvin, ODB, Sherman. I guess Gronk going out revived the curse talk again.
Well, let em talk about a curse all they want. All I know is the dude is 39 years old playing QB in the NFL. I don't care how good of shape he keeps himself in, a human body is not designed to take abuse like that for long and at 39 his has about reached its limit. If we see him go down this year with a significant injury it will not have anything to do with a curse and everything to do with being on the wrong side of 39.
It's one of those things where, we will believe it when it happens. And it will happen. Nobody beats father time
When AP was on the cover he played just 1 game that season (2014). It's true he wasn't injured, but that's not a "great year". Brees finished the season (2010) with a 90 passer rating the year he was on the cover. Which happens to be his lowest passer rating out of his last 10 years. (I sure hope you consider RT's 93 passer rating this year "great", but I doubt it...lol)
Brees throws a lot of INTs sometimes. He had a 68% completion rate, 4,600 yards, 11-5 record, Pro-bowl. He had an 89.4 just a few years before that. That's not a curse. Just season to season volatility. His team made the playoffs. Great is probably stretching it for a few of the players I mentioned, but in this context, great means not cursed. Successful years would be more accurate. Tanny had a successful year after a slow start. You got the year for AP wrong. He was on the cover for the 2013 season. 2014 was Sherman (after the superbowl win). He was also fine.
Never mind the madden curse. He's going down this year due to the Puka Head fantasy football curse. I have lost my starting QB #1WR and or RB every year in the first three games for the last five years. I am drafting Brady in the second round this year! I drafted Gronk first round last year. Maybe I'll try to get Cooks too. I won't be drafting Dolphins. Seriously, I have the worst luck.
That is bold considering our schedule alone is as gnarly as its ever been. That said glad to be playing the NFC south. I'm going to the Atlanta and Carolina games. Cannot wait. The bad news is I have a losing record when I attend games. Sorry boys.
