If you hang your hat on something that has never happened before in the history of the Finals (coming back from 1-3)as "evidence" of something and not for what it was (a collapse and near fluke) then YOU are the one with the agenda.

-3 is still a gift in my opinion...

Durant and Steph has been a major issue, but ive also noticed when they dont play small and actually have a center on the floor (zaza, mcgee), theyre even better..

One guy I would be open to trading is TJ. He was pretty good last year, but that $20M cap hit in 2018 and 2019 is scary, and he could legitimately have some value. He'd also open up almost $6M in space this year to keep our guys and add some other parts. If you could parlay Johnson into a move up in the draft, or even to add another pick, it might be a worthwhile move. If the value isn't there, then obviously you keep him.

A couple of Knicks rumors out there:
One is Courtney Lee to Detroit for a deal involving pick 12. Yes please. I like Lee but that's exceptional value even if I have to throw in Kuzminskas or Lance Thomas.

Two is Portland is looking to move salary and the Knicks are rumored to be interested in Mo Harkless or one of the Blazers other overpriced contracts (Turner, Leonard, and Crabbe) if the Blazers are including a first rounder (they have 15, 20, 26). My preference is to take whatever lands Ny pick 15 as this is a deep draft and that's the first pick outside the lottery. That said, I'm not taking on Turner, Crabbe or Leonard unless it's 15. Harkless is a local guy (St. Johns, grew up in Queens I believe) and makes the most sense especially if Melo is traded.

If Cleveland was smart they'd be doubling the ball handler every time Zaza was the screener. I'd rather make Zaza beat me then have Curry/Klay/KD killing it with a bunch of open looks and layups.

Courtney Lee for the 12th pick in THIS draft would be insanity from Detroit and highway robbery for the Knicks. If Lee lands you the 12th pick, what does Tyler Johnson get you?

He and mcgee are also trapping the pick and rolls from the cavs, and protecting the paint well.

    Three things....

1). It's a known thing that SVG frequently tries to go after his old players. And he's a better player then the guy someone is going to massively overpay in free agency, KCP.

2). Lee is a traditional 2 who performed well on a bad team last year and good teams in years prior. Teams are going to look at Tyler Johnson and (correctly) see 6th man or pg size with a 2 guard mentality. I think Tyler Johnson is a good player in the right situation (which he's in) but Lee is a more proven commodity.

3). I'd be surprised if it was 1-1. It very well could look like something like Lance Thomas and Lee for 12. Was just passing on what I'd read.

I think Johnson is truly a 2 in today's NBA. He can play some pg, which is an added bonus, but he's a 2, and with his wingspan and leaping ability, I don't think his height is an issue at all. Johnson is an inch shorter than Lee, and put up better numbers than him around the board. And while Lee is a proven commodity, Johnson still has significant upside. That's why the Nets offered him the contract they did. He got a bigger contract than Lee did in the same free agent class, and after a season in which Johnson had really yet to break out only playing in 36 games. You'd think after the season he just had, he'd probably command even more.

Yes, one of the two games I thought they'd win, and their best chance for a win I think.

Of course I thought all this before seeing the performances to date in the finals.

I agree that there was some fluke and luck involved - but also pretty clearly thought the Cavaliers figured something out in that series. Zach Lowe even talked about how before every game 5 through 7 he sat down and said "I think Cleveland is going to win this game." There was an insane amount of randomness - but with the performances Kyrie, Tristan, and most of all LeBron put up - I don't think you can simply explain it away.

You can't. it was an odd occurrence. Cavs definitely earned it, but they rolled 7's for 40 rolls in a row.

I think the most wild thing about the Warriors is that there isn't any hope for anyone else. It's not like the Heat's Big 3 where you could spend an off season realistically trying to come up with teams that could compete. There's nothing anyone can do.

As I said on Twitter last night - you know a team is too good when even Celtics fans can't come up with fake trades that would make them better.

    A) Draft a SF that can score or dangle the pick and other things for one.
    B) Hope they can sign Dion Waiters at a decent price point.
    C) Sign James Johnson at damn near any cost for a short deal.
    D) Explore Blake Griffin as a FA.
    E) Explore Gordon Hayward as a FA.

No Cav outside of 23 and occasionally Love and Shumpert has looked anything but deflated and defeated.

Lebron has to be getting exhausted and if he doesn't play the way he did in the first half of Sunday's game they have no chance and I just don't think anyone else will step up and help him.

I see the Warriors (who are hungry for a sweep to help soften the blow of how bad LBJ humiliated them in last season) continuing that swarming defensive energy and finally we may see LeBron crack.

For what it's worth..there are reports of VERY LARGE Moneyline bets on the Warriors for tomorrow night. Westgate has booked several 100k Bets on the Dubs, and temporarily pulled the game from the menu.

I think Kyrie finally shows up. And probably Tristan. Kyrie can be as good as anyone - just can just only do it every 3 or 4 games. So he's due.

But I doubt it's enough. Just hard to overcome two MVPs, the DPOY, and a top five shooter ever being on the court at the same time.

Here's a hot take that'll make steam come out of Sec's ears - this Cavs team is still one of the better NBA teams ever - and I'd put them up against any of the Heatles.

One of those Heatle teams had an Offense better than any of these Cavs offenses, and a Defense better than any in the NBA today. That team also won 27 games in a row. That team also had a better version of LeBron James.

    Come on.

Eh I struggle to use regular season stats for a team that pretty clearly punted the regular season. I'm not sure - I think talent wise it's interesting - Cavs certainly deeper than those teams. But the top-end isn't as great.

Mostly I just want to talk about anything that isn't this Finals.

Interesting. That's not necessarily the guys in Miami's range. Jackson and Kennard I guess could fit, but I think there are better players. Chad Ford has them taking Zach Collins in his latest mock (I think that would be an almost ideal situation), and mentions that the three favorites for their pick are Collins, Giles, and John Collins. Ford isn't exactly known for being plugged in, but he seems to think PF, while you're saying SF.

One SF who would be a good pick IMO would be OG Anunoby, but he may not play next season due to injury, and isn't really a "SF that can score". He's an athlete, and defender more than anything right now with the offense being a work in progress.

I agree that they're an all-time great team. I can't see how anyone can argue they're as good or better than one of the Heatles teams. Wade was better than Kyrie, Bosh was better than Love, and that LeBron was better than version of himself.

2011-2012 heat were unreal. Heck, I'm pretty sure Lebron on the heats current squad is better than the current Cavs team, but I'm very biased.
