I wonder if the Lakers end up taking Ball (which is likely), or even Fox (which would probably be the alternative), if Miami would put a call in to see about D'Angelo Russell. I liked him a lot coming out of college, but it seems like he has an attitude problem. Miami has a history of turning guys like that around. It's not really a need for Miami, but he might come cheap.
Free agents don't typically go to Boston. Al Horford went where he could get a max deal. I think Hayward looks at Boston almost getting swept by a team that's almost getting swept and may not think he's the final piece. Likelihood of Miami targeting Paul Milsap? Replacing Babbitt with Milsap alone has to take us to a 5+ seed. Wouldn't mind adding Hayward to that team. If we do sign Hayward, is that acceptance of Winslow as an elite defender off the bench?
If I'm getting a max deal, gimme Miami over Boston or Utah any day. Of course if Hayward was really smart, he'd go to New Orleans and play with Anthony Davis and Boogie and get open looks all day long.
I don't think it'll happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Warriors make a comeback and win this game. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So ZaZa the **** bag throws not one but TWO blows to Shumps radiator hose....and not even a technical?? Win lose or draw, that is one shady garbage *** cheap player. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Absolutely. That was one of the worst officiated finals games I've seen. They let things get completely out of control. How do they miss the backcourt violation on Kyrie? How does the tech situation with Green happen? How do they miss the Zaza punch after looking at it on replay?
That was absolutely the worst officiated game in Finals history. Kyrie backcourt, cavs ball Lebron hits ball out of bounds, cavs ball. Draymond Green two technical fouls ejected, woops nevermind we dont want him to get kicked out so lets makeup some bull**** and change the official ruling Zaza should be suspended for the rest of the series, enough with his bull**** 66 combined free throws between both teams This game was an embarassment to the sport. I hope the nba redeems themselves in game 5, but i have a feeling it will be another free throw fest with a lot of home cooking.. Next season, i dont care if either of these teams make the finals again, theyre built to make it, but please no more cleveland vs gs. Its just bad basketball.
Wade last night......[emoji23] Clearly rooting his boys team on. And looking damn good doin it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well Paul George liked an Instagram post with a photoshop of him in a Heat uniform.... And supposedly he really likes Hayward
If he hits the open market, he's going to the Lakers. If he gets traded, he may like it enough to stay. As much as I'd hate to give up Hassan or Dragic, I'd have to seriously think about it to get George. The guy is a bonafide star in a league where you legitimately can't contend for a title without one.
Doesn't this guy want to actually compete for a championship by this point? The lakers aren't going to be close next year. I think I would rather give up Dragic than Whiteside. But I wouldn't want to give up the 14th if they're getting Dragic and probably another player.
I don't know what Indy's plan is They downgraded at coach and Bird is gone now. Has George told them he's leaving? They may want to get something and if PG is uncommitted going in the price should factor that in. Also, if they trade PG are they going full tank to try and build around Turner or do they want to stay competitive?
TJ, Winslow and the 14th pick work. Wouldn't even need them to take McBob Obviously that's not a great haul, but unless their getting Fultz or Ball via Boston or LA, it's not that bad
Of course you do that deal. I'd still try for Hayward in that scenario. You'd have your core 4 in that scenario. Wouldn't be Golden State, but we'd be pretty close to Cleveland
Maybe, but he's from LA and supposedly wants to be there. You'd probably have to get him now and show him how great an organization it is to get him not to sign in LA in 2018. Even if he did want to compete for a title, it would be tricky in Miami. Would a lineup like Dragic (at 32), Whiteside, George, Winslow, and Waiters OR Johnson make you a contender? I'm not sure. Plus, with TJ's contract jumping to $20M in 2018, I'm not sure how much space they'll have, especially if they keep Dion or James Johnson. If they sign both, there's no way. As far as trading for George goes, ideally you'd love to get away with something like TJ, Winslow, and 14, but that's probably not enough. I'd hate to lose Whiteside or Dragic, but I'd probably be willing to move either (not both) to get George. I'd also throw in 14 if I absolutely had to. So which would I prefer not to lose? That's a tough one. Whiteside is younger and rarer because of his shot blocking and rebounding. If he improves on offense (especially with regards to passing), he could be an absolute star. That being said, the center position has become so devalued in today's NBA, and in the dream scenario of landing PG AND Hayward, could you imagine that offense with Dragic running point? How the hell do you stop them? I guess my point is, I could be talked into having it either way. At the end of the day, I'm not expecting PG or Hayward, as I think the odds are against us getting either. But with Riley you never know, and it's fun to try and play these scenarios out.
I know its a bit naive, but I just feel like there is so much loyalty with this team right now. Keep everyone (if you can) and get Hayward! See what 30-11 looks like with that team: Starters: Dragic Waiters Hayward JJ Whiteside Bench: TJ Richardson Winslow McGruder McRoberts UD etc.
The flagrant on Love was SUPER weak - especially since Dray did a hard foul later that got nothing. And a tech on Dahntay Jones on the sidelines but nothing for Zaza or Green for their crap? Warriors fans are ALL IN that the refs are the only reason they lost that game and...I have no idea how you could watch that game and think the fix was in. You can argue the officiating was awful and the Cavs got their share of calls - but the Zaza, Green, Jones, and Love calls all don't happen if the refs want Cavs to win.
Cavs were up by 15 when most of those calls happened. Cavs played a great game, but the refs set the tone early - GS can't play defense without a whistle, meanwhile Cavs can mug steph curry without hearing a whistle. It isn't just golden state or heat fans who are complaining about the refs in that game being one sided.
So funny thing about your first point is that the Cavs were up 15 in the first quarter and both teams had exactly two fouls. Most of the fouls people are complaining about happened after the Cavs jumped our to a huge lead - the lead didn't happen because of the fouls. Which would tell me the Warriors were struggling on defense to begin with and then started fouling. And if the refs were specifically trying to get the Cavs to win and yet did all those weird calls that went in favor of GS and also let GS shoot more free throws overall? You have to get pretty far down the rabbit hole of conspiracies to land that they were trying to force the Cavs to win. Also - the Cavs set a Finals record for most three pointers! If you need to discredit the Cavs just say they were lucky shooting! Also - it seems convenient no one was complaining when Steph Curry set a Finals record for free throws in a quarter with ten in the first quarter of Game 2. Seems like the things that prove the conspiracy only seem to work when they happen in one direction.
Heat have interest in CSKA Moscow guard Milos Teodosic, considered one of the best players not in the NBA. He's a PG and an incredible passer. Fran Fraschilla stated he is a better pure passer that CP3. His defense is non-existent Supposedly looking for $8-10 million per to leave CSKA where he is already one of the highest paid Euro players
You're also leaving out whoever they get with 14. That being said, it would be just about impossible to keep Waiters and JJ AND sign Hayward. You'd use most of your space to sign Waiters and JJ even at a discount.
Sounds like Ricky Rubio, and he's 30. Unless you're trading Dragic, or are making your big addition via trade, I'm not sure I'd want to spend $10M per year on him.
Much better shooter than Rubio. Shot nearly 37% from 3. I don't know enough about him obviously but I do like that we're expanding our horizons a bit. We've used the d-league better than anybody but have never shown interest in Euros (prior to their being in the NBA) Untapped resource imo
Dragic might be a part of the Paul George trade. If the Russian PG signs for 8 mil, that's about a 9 mil savings in cap.
From the, "Did he really just do that?" file. And for what its worth he did this to the Minnesota Timberwolves when his CSKA team played them in preseason back in 2013:
There's got to be very little chance of Lauri Markannen making it to pick #14 overall but if he does, I think that's the card you turn in if you're the Miami Heat. Too good, too unique. The more I look at the strengths and weaknesses of the guys in discussion for the Heat, he's a cut above.
That would be a tremendous pairing with Whiteside given Markannens ability to stretch the floor and create space on offense. I'm not sure he could defend stretch 4's yet but Spoelstra is a good enough coach to get him up to speed. I don't think he will make it to 14 but if you move up to the 9-10 range that's about where he should go.
