I'm glad that Microsoft is still out there, competing with Sony. I doubt I'll ever own their stuff, but as long as all three companies are strong, its good for ALL console gamers.
I still don't understand MS's use of 'exclusive' when every one of their first party games can be played on PC except for Halo 5.
Yeah, whenever either MS or Sony use the term, it almost always just means that its not on the other one, since most Nintendo games are exclusive to their own systems too. Part of the reason that I'm a Sony guy is that I rarely have any interest in MS's stuff.
I'll wait til we get to see it played on a PS4 Pro before I get all jazzed up about it's visuals. It will probably still look great, but this trailer looks an awful lot like another Watch Dogs situation. Ubisoft, surprisingly, looks like they used a normal console for their AC gameplay presentation. I could be wrong though.
Anthem to me looks like Bioware was trying to get the Iron Man license, lost out, and decided that Destiny was a really fun game.
Anthem looks cool, and I love Crackdown (though I will likely not get it right away). Managed to get in for Forza 7 ultimate at a $20 discount (before 20% off) because of an amazon price mistake too.
Well, I was about to post that this year's E3 has done basically nothing for me other than AC, but hey, last year was great, and its not going to be like that every time. But then, this bombshell drops: http://www.dualshockers.com/elder-s...dios-has-two-big-mutliplaform-releases-first/ Basically, Bethesda has said that Elder Scrolls 6, which many people (myself included) had assumed was well into production, and maybe a winter 2018/Spring 2019 game is.....not in development at all. Now, this could just be Bethesda lying through their teeth to deflect questions and not be asked about it, since they're about as tight lipped as any developer, but if they're being totally honest, then it means the next game could still be five or more years away. Which sucks. I'd been all excited a few months back, with Square seeming to get their act back together, and the new ME game coming out. It looked like we might have five or six top end RPG franchises active, with cool games coming out every year. Now, it looks like the immediate future isn't nearly so bright, and 2018 is looking kinda empty.
Ace Combat?! Awesome, I wish it was VR on PC though. Edit: At least it appears to be getting released on PC, fingers crossed for VR.
E3 was okay, but no awesome announcements that got me hyped. Never played Shadow of the Colossus so the remake looks interesting. Spider-man seems a bit quick-time event heavy, but on my buy list.
Shadows of Mordor was one of my favorite games of all time. I had a blast. Shadows of War looks like everything I enjoyed about Shadows of Mordor to a new level. I am very excited to play this game.
https://blog.us.playstation.com/201...-bringing-its-creativity-and-strategy-to-ps4/ Cities Skylines is coming to the PS4 later this year. You can sign me up. I had been interested for it on the PC, but my machine is too slow.
https://gamerant.com/biomutant-leak/ This one looks interesting. Open world Post Apocalyptic RPG called Biomutant.
With a name like Biomutant, I cannot possibly discern how character progression and strengthening will occur! It is a mystery.
http://www.dualshockers.com/biomuta...nshots/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Amazon leaked screenshots of Biomutant.
Based on the trailer, I'd be interested in a feature length film as much as a game! Based on the "fully customizable (MMO style) character", I wonder if the fox/racoon guy is one of the player's friends or companions, rather than the main character. And that your character is your own creation, like Skyrim, DAI or Fallout, ect. With so little that interests me on deck for 2018 right now, this is now squarely on my radar.
I played one of the games in the series, I think II, years ago. Its been a long time, but I remember not liking it as much as Civ, and having a hard time getting into it.
http://www.dualshockers.com/cyberpunk-2077-intensive-development/ Cyberpunk 2077 remains mostly a mystery, but CDPR is clearly hard at work producing it. Eventually, they'll probably choose to actually talk about it. As awesome as they've been to fans/customers with The Witcher 3, they've earned the right to handle it the way that they like.
Age of Empires II is arguably the greatest RTS of all time. AoE2 HD on Steam has been fantastic, as they've actively improved it, in addition to releasing new expansions. The upcoming AoE2 and AoE3 definitive editions with 4K support will be great buys, IMO. I'm excited about AoE4 until circumstance and evidence tell me not to be.
