Please show me an article where Omar (or any other reporter) talks negatively about a player that is CLEARLY giving us as much production as Satele is.

I think you are referring to Omars dislike for John Beck. Omar isn't the only one who isn't fond of Beck.

And if the member is arguing that [a hypothetical] Satale isn't producing and does so in a respectful and classy manner, why not respect his opinion and just agree to disagree? No one person is right all the time, eventhough many people think they are. I thought you were the one that said this is a open forum... So I think every opinion, considering the person is respectful, should be welcome.

I get it though. Ignorant people use reports from the media to fuel an arguement. I can see why that would aggravate a message board. Especially one that thrives on grouping together as much as this one does.

I'm so worn out from protecting the media. Please, let's just agree to disagree and I promise...no matter how untasteful the comments are... I promise to edit-NEVER(lol) defend the media again.

I'd say Omar has been "hard " on Beck.Thats 100% true.

Also i haven't seen a'lot of Beck sucks!!! Cut him now threads around here. There are a 'lot at FH, but not so much here.

Omar isn't telling the whole truth about Beck thats obvious.Just read the other papers.I'm not around here 24/7 but i don't see anyone fighting about that.

Just like how thats not a debate, nor should the fact that everyone in the national/local media thought Beck was having a very bad camp , tell we picked up CP.

Anyways.............Lets all hope all the QB's look good tonight.

lol Who are you speaking for when you say that?

Plenty of people question Beck (including myself). Nobody is annointing him anything. I think most of the people your trying to speak for just want him to have a fair shot and are hoping for the best. Can't really blame anyone for wanting a new QB that we drafted to get a fair shot.

The situation here is that people on this site will always respect everyone else's opinion IF they support it with facts and present it in a logical manner. Saying "Beck sucks" or "Becks great" and not elaborating on why or what makes you arrive at that conclusion, is the only thing that makes people here scratch their head and question intelligence. I know thats how I feel when I read little one line posts with no substance or information.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and it should be respected if it's valid. But, if your going to make statements that are brash and don't give any facts or examples to support them, you should be prepared for criticism.

BTW, I'm not talking about you specifically, just making a general observation as to why you might see some people criticizing other's for their "opinions".

Great post. But I have noticed favoritism on this site.
If the new guy comes in and makes a post.. people read it but don't give him any credit. Now, when a respected vet says the exact same thing, he's the coolest thing since sliced bread.

That's not fair... I've seen veterans of this board say some pretty untasteful things while expressing their opinion... no one cares. But when a new guy (or perhaps a less popular person) says negative or "opinionated" things, he's(she) referred to as hateful and he/she is rejected.

I think that's what suncoastfinfan was referring to. Granted, he sounded a little harsh but I can honestly see what he's talking about. I've read AWESOME posts regarding the upside of Henne and few people give the poster thanks. But when a respected member says a rather weak comment about Beck the post has 100 thanks.

Either way, this place has great conversation and I'll continue to come. and when money comes, I'll donate. I appreciate how this site brings me closer to the Dolphins.

If you have to ask "who" is blindly supporting Beck, you haven't really been paying attention.

Fair shot, good shot, A shot,....You get what you get. Coaches are paid to evaluate performance and upside. If his perfomance in camp and potential upside warrants being given further opportunity, he will be. If it does not, he will be jettisoned. Bottom line.

I have never said "Beck Sucks" and you cannot produce a post to show otherwise.

So, if everyone is entitled to their opinion (which is what I hear ALOT from people who are in love with the Beck) then why argue with me? Why not just allow me to state my opinion to which I am "entitled"?

And if only "valid" opinions are to be respected (and I don't disagree with you--I think absurdity should be challenged which is why I question the undying loyalty that Beck receives here) are you the arbiter?

And if you speaking generally, then you will know that my opinion gets criticized constantly. I don't mind that. I think if you are going to post opinions on a message board, you should be prepared to defend them. And in that defense, your opinions will then be found to be either valid or not. No one here can say that I don't come prepared to defend my thoughts.

And speaking generally, I find it peculiarly ironic that people make critical posts of others in the name of "everyone is entitled to an opinion". If thats the case, no one should ever engage in debate with anyone.

I don't have the time, patience, or desire to read through every single post to see "who is blindly supporting Beck." If someone wants to for whatever reason then I really don't care. At the same time, I'm not going to think much of their opinion if it holds no facts.

Once again, I wasn't speaking specifically towards you. So no, I never saw a post of yours that said "Beck sucks."

I think your opinion gets criticized constantly because you like to look for a debate in IMO. Per example, I posted my original reply to your post because I wanted to attempt to explain my perspective on the point you and Loyal were discussing. In that post I said "I'm not talking about you specifically", yet your still trying to defend yourself or taking my post as a jab at you which you need to retaliate against.

Once again, I'm not trying to get in a debate with you over nothing. I never argued over your opinion about Beck or whatever the original point of this thread was (god knows it went out the window awhile ago). I wouldn't be suprised to see Beck gone. It seems pretty obvious that he or McCown will be and IMO its 50/50 as to which one gets the boot.

IMO, the deciding factors of Beck or McCown being cut are:

What we could get in a trade for either.
How much of a lead Henne might have on Beck.
The FO's overall evaluation on both.
Do we mind losing money on cutting McCown.

I only brought up "who is blindly supporting Beck" because you asked. If you don't care, its cool.

As far as brining facts, I constantly bring facts to the table. But, if you haven't figured it out by now, facts in debate are subjective. Tomato, Tomahto, if you will. Once I have "established" a fact, I won't post it everytime I state my opinion. Everyone can choose or not whether to respect the points I, or others, put forth.

Your opinion is that I am looking for debate. I think I am trying to discuss Dolphins football with other knowledgeable fans. I admittedly don't tow the "company line". I question what I see as absurdity wherever it exists. But what is wrong for looking for debate on a message board? This is a forum to agree, disagree, debate, and maybe occasionally find some consensus. No one gets hurt.

Please give examples and supply links to back it up.

Noone is censored here for their opinion, the only time people get in trouble is when they cross the line and make insulting comments and behave in a disruptive manner.

You are free to post your opinions and people have the right to either agree or disagree with them. I'm not sure how that translates to there being "favoritism" on this board. If people see a post that they agree with then they can "thank" that person, if they don't agree with a post then they don't. I don't see that as favoritism, I see it as a feature on this board that saves us from having to weed through 5 posts on each page containing nothing but :yeahthat: smileys. It's not a popularity contest and it's not favoritism, it's people expressing the fact that they agree with the posters sentiment and nothing more. If people don't thank your posts or someone elses post enough, I don't know what to tell ya.

But please provide links to show a favoritism and I invite anyone else who feels the same way to do the same. Otherwise I think you owe Celtkin and the other people who put alot of time, effort and money into this site an apology.

    I can't show links...since it's something I noticed.
I'll go ahead and apologize to anyone who felt offended by my post. And add that I was not targeting mods or admins. Me thinking that there's favoristism, or cliques, or popularity contests has nothing to do with the quality of the site and/or staff.

Just so your up to date ::::Sparano praised Josh McCown and John Beck for how professional they've been, but pointed out they've had opportunities.

"As I said to the team, 'At some point you have to look and you have to understand, I got my opportunity. One way or the other I did get my opportunity.' When you look and you've been evaluated since the day we've walked into the door here," Sparano said. "They've had over 500 throws apiece; that's quite a bit of work."

and i got that from here http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_football_dolphins/2008/08/daily-dolphin-1.html

JMHphin, said it was laughable that Miami had giving up on Josh McCown and John Beck as a starter.

This just proves my point that they only got CP cuzz they needed a real starter, cuzzz at that point they were fed up with what they had seen from JM and JB.
